Managed to replace 2 leaky caps but now I've put my x3 Xbox back together it seems the eject button isn't responding. Should the second little port on the face plate have something plugged into it?

I think one socket is for the switch panel input and the other is to go out to the X3. Look around for a disconnected molex.

No, I believe the second connector on the front panel adapter PCB for the X3 modchip is present for connection to the X3IR mod.

The other end of the cable currently connected should be connected to the mating connector on the modchip.

Ah, yes. The power/eject panel is patched into a larger molex. I stand corrected...and I HAVE an X3... Shame.
