I see that FatXplorer is at bata 3.0.

The latest version of Fatxplorer is fatxplorer-3-0-beta-22 and the software auto checks for updates on loading.

Cheers

I haven’t really used any “features”.  I mostly got it for the HDMI mod. I didn’t really use any features of any mod to be honest.  I use it for HDMI and load my dash :)

Jesus, bro... I don't even know what to say to that. lol. I guess you could have went with a normal mod chip and used a worse bios in order to get to the HDMI mod.

Tbh i'm surprised that Stellar doesn't offer a plug and play type install of new drives. The X3 chip from the 00's did that. You just installed your drive and booted into the chip's menu and selected the drive setup option. I would check out that option first, see if Stellar has that ability.

Seconded. X3 has it. It was all I needed back then...

IF any of you really want to get your hands on one of these then 8bitmods.co.uk has listed all their remaining inventory on their site. I gather they filled all the pre orders and have stock remaining. I would expect them to go quickly as there still seems to be a lot of people who really want one of these chips despite the downsides.

Just checked again and only 1.6 version are now left...

Uh yeah. I'm a bit fuzzy on what exactly 22 partitions means... Other than the fact that it's a ridiculously high quantity of partitions. I guess it uses an already recognizable table? But what bioses utilize it already? I think this has yet to be specified, if I've read correctly.

22 partitions. 20 of which what 1TB/2TB? Is there even enough 480p porn videos on the interweb to fill up that much space?

Someone with a chip needs to try a Cerbios hdd and see whats what. This could be a turning point for Stellar. If we then get CCI support too then I will take back everything I've said previously on this :P

It would definitely be a pretty damn good start!

1.1.0 release info (partition support)

I believe I read 1.2.0 will include iso and compressed iso support   (Not sure which compressed format)

It should be dustin’s version of CCI. So not the same as cerbios. There was a discussion on this 6 months ago or so.
It would be great if he could implement the cerbios CCI (or cerbios would support Dustin’s version:D). Somehow I get the feeling that this will never happen.

Good to see he is churning out the promised features. I guess I should start installing my stellar chip now

I have updated my Steller chip to 1.1.0

I tested a 2tb origins HDD that boots on all modchips/modded bios and it would only boot to the MS dash

A 2tb HDD that's not cerbios formatted with xbmc4gamers in a folder on e called dashboard loads fine

A 3tb HDD with F and G equal splits that loads fine with cerbios reports as no HDD

A 1tb SSD that's formatted with cerbios compatibly that I put xbmc4gamers in a folder called dashboard will load 4gamers but it can't find any apps, Homebrew, Games on the drive and the file manager in 4gamers thinks there is  F drive put reports path not found.

On the plus side it no longer only enters safe mode if you don't have a DVD drive connected.   Whoopee !!

So for some reason he hasn't or won't add cerbios compatibly.

Cheers

Thanks for the info Dave, Looks like nothing of note has actually been added other than the upgraded CPU which benefits probably the tiniest section of users and the No DVD drive fix.

Seriously, I feel like we skipped over the CPU detail. I don't understand. Has this kernel already been completed? Why is this issue kernel dependent? I guess I don't understand why the speedups happen and I've ALWAYS wondered that.

I can only quote the changelog, haven’t tested it myself yet: https://makemhz.com/blogs/news/project-stellar-firmware-1-1-0

but I plan to install it to my 1.4 Ghz xboz in the coming weeks.

That's conflictingly impressive. I have to concede.

"Most modded Xboxes use a partitioning scheme that is based on the work of oz_paulb. This is a great design and has served the community well for many years. However, it does have some drawbacks.

We had originally planned to re-evaluate and roll out our own solution. However, this was put on the back burner due to time constraints, and instead, we launched with only supporting "All on F" as the only supported extended partitioning option.

Hindsight is 20/20, and we now realize that we should have just supported the legacy partitioning scheme from the start."

Um, lol? Heh.

It's starting to get difficult to hate Dustin as much. There's a lot of work out into this. I just wish he were doing things differently...
