zatchbot
I accidently hit C6R5 while doing a 128mb upgrade. I assume it is a 29 ohm like the others near buy? I has hoping someone maybe could verify before I purchase a bag of them lol.
sweetdarkdestiny
Thats a cap not a resistor so you messure it in farad not ohms. And you mostly can't messure a cap in circuit. How ever, I have a dead 1.0 laying around and will check the value when I have enough coffee in my vains.
sweetdarkdestiny
That cap is a 10nf.
zatchbot
That explains the wonky reading from my 1.6 that I contemplated cannibalizing. I was getting 26.2~26.8 ohm and was too tired and pissed off to think it was anything else. While I don't expect this... do you know the footprint? I didn't measure yesterday and am too new to electronic repair to eyeball it. It would be awesome if I can figure this out without being home. I want to order some before I get off work. zatchbot
Side note, this thing booted 3 separate times, played 2 different games for over an hour, and idled at dash for ~45 min first night I got the ram installed. I let it sit for a few days then it FRAG'd first time I tried to boot. What are the chances it ran without that cap?
sweetdarkdestiny
it should be 0402 cap. How the chances are? You already delivered the numbers so do the math. I think it's a filter cap. So your XBox works without it but should have it. Your XBox 1.6 should have the same cap so not a huge deal to move one to your 1.0.
zatchbot
Thank you!!! So from what I'm understanding, I should replace the cap, but the frag may remain afterwards? I ended up finding my old Aladdin XT+ from before the current run of fakes. Put that in the 1.6 and flashed EvoX with compatibility with my HD from the 1.0. Now I'm using it as a backup until I get my first one running. Edit: I just ordered a bag of 10v Kyocera caps and also 6.3v Kemets. I also put a $15 bid on a dead board on ebay for spare parts. I'm getting this thing running one way or another lol. Edited September 28, 2022 by zatchbot
