Skyrider2
Hey guys, so I replaced what I THOUGHT was a clock capacitor (one of these 1F, 2.5V caps) on my 1.6 Xbox but that did nothing to solve the timekeeping issue. Is this how 1.6 boxes keep time? If not, how can I solve this problem? Can I even?
KaosEngineer
Are you disconnecting AC power from the console for a long period of time? The super capacitor only keeps the time circuitry running for a few hours while AC power is disconnected from the console.

EDIT: A thought, do I have to set the time in the MS dashboard instead of Unleash? Edited July 27, 2022 by Skyrider2
KaosEngineer
How's your console modded: hard mod - modchip installed or softmodded - which softmod package is installed? Older softmods have a bug in their coding. Not really a bug; however, they checked a min and max date as being valid clock data. If the current date and time is after midnight June 6, 2019, they reset the time to their default minimum value. Edit: The min date is used to reset the clock if the clock data is out of founds - not between the min and max time fields. If so, the clock is reset to the min date/time - midnight March 04, 2007 (00:00:00 20070304). I know that Rocky5's Xbox Softmodding Tool has the max date/time check data set to midnight 1/1/2099. From the ernie softmod exploit source: maxtimefields dw 2019 ; Year dw 6 ; Month dw 6 ; Day dw 0 ; Hour dw 0 ; Minute dw 0 ; Second dw 0 ; Milliseconds dw 0 ; Weekday (ignored) hexadecimal equivalent of these dw - double words assignments after assembling the code (x86 little-endian format): E307 0600 0600 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 2019 6 6 0 0 0 0 0 <--- decimal values as shown above
Skyrider2
I don't quite remember which softmodding package I used to install Unleash but obviously since it keeps resetting, I must have an afflicted version. Is there a way to fix this or do I just need to rely on network connectivity / an FTP server?

Hexedit the min and max date content of the Xbox Book.xtf font file.
