retta283
I have been thinking on and off for the last 6 years about whether to softmod my Xbox, as I have been afraid of messing something up and losing my data. I'm a fairly casual user of the system, the only thing I want to softmod for is DLC for Battlefront and Halo 2. After that's done I might just remove the softmod, or at least find a way to boot straight into the original dashboard and avoid the mod part. By now I do not remember what revision my Xbox is, but I am nearly certain it's not a 1.6. I have already removed the clock capacitor, which I have heard complicates things with softmods as they can get stuck in a clock loop. My main question in this thread is, which softmod is the safest given I have removed the clock cap and also to avoid losing my HDD data? I have not found concrete info on this elsewhere so I want to get direct advice before I proceed. I have thought about just buying a second Xbox to mod but it seems like a risk given mine is in perfect functional condition and a used one could be all kinds of work. Rocky5's Xbox Softmodding Tool. Do you own one of the original exploitable games? 007: Agent Under Fire (original release) MechAssualt (original release) Splinter Cell (any release works) Tony Hawk's Pro Skater

If not, Splinter Cell is cheap. This tool seems pretty solid, I will look into this for sure. Thanks for the reply.
