Board pics of my two water damaged consoles.

I didn't see much corrosion on my two water damaged consoles (on the underside of the psu's there was some). So I took some photos for some more knowledgeable people.

What do you think? Are these two Xboxes okay for service?

They both work, I replaced the fan on one, now I need to replace the fan on the second.

The power buttons and eject buttons are a little fussy.

Here is My first one.

Here is the second.

Thanks

These look pretty clean to me.

I have seen such badly corroded units. You should see my one that was in the rain 10 years ago has quite a lot corrosion and never once tripped.  Most of the board is clean and nothing has spread so I guess it will go for along time yet. My theory based on my experience  is if it’s ok after a year then don’t waste time and energy worrying on something that is not going to happen you never get that time back. Enjoy it. if it was an issue then the unit would not be working it would have tripped out every time turned it on.  I blew up your photos and they look perfectly ok.

Considering these units are 20ish years old and people have them.and use them off and on from where they store them and most likely don’t even know there may be mild corrosion inside from how they are stored, caused from condensation, humidity depending on where they live. If you lived northern NSW and all the way up to the NT in that kind of humidity where everything gets damp for half the year then no one would have units.  But everyone does and they all work well. But as I said if they power up and no tripping etc. they are fine, yours look pretty good and don’t look like they have been water damaged from what I can see. I have looked quite closely on a program I have.

Looking good to me.
