Johny white
When I start XBMC with LCD enabled settings previously, the LCD screen shows info but then it goes off within like seconds. I then have to go back into system settings and re-enable the LCD again for it to come on. Using Openxenium with spi2par2019 and HD44780 LCD. Once re-enabled it stays on until I turn the xbox off but the same thing happens when I turn it back on again. I'm launching XMBC manually from the dash as I not choose to launch it automatically yet.
SS_Dave
When you turn off the Xbox are you just using the power button? Try after you set the LCD settings in XBMC use the power menu to reboot the Xbox. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing. Yes I'm using the power off button. I just tried what you told me and rebooting from xbmc and starting xbmc again the LCD stays on with the display all the time. Could it be something to do with paths and settings location?

I have the same problems. I think it has to do with the contrast.
trencherfield
Yeah it's a known issue. Most LCD were fine with the original old XBMC 3.5.3, but then have this problem with Xbox4Gamers initialising properly. Does the same malarky after an IGR as well. There is a fix I think which I had bookmarked somewhere for it. Have a look tomorrow, too knacked to search now.

Crossfader
Found a solution on the xbox-scene Discord by ModzvilleUSA. If you use a LCD with SDA and SCL Data. LCD.XML max of 2 lines per category. In the xbmc4gamers login menu is another settings sub menu. Disable auto login, restart and go to this menu, set your LCD options and load your profile. After that auto login can be re enabled and the display works fine. Example <lcd> <navigation> <line>$INFO[System.CurrentWindow] </line> <line>$INFO[System.CurrentControl] </line> </navigation> <general> <line>$INFO[System.Freespace(F)]</line> <line>Free RAM: $INFO[System.FreeMemory] </line> </general> <screensaver> <line>$INFO[System.Freespace(F)]</line> <line>Free RAM: $INFO[System.FreeMemory] </line> </screensaver> <xbelaunch> <line>$INFO[System.LaunchXBE] </line> <line>Free RAM: $INFO[System.FreeMemory] </line> </xbelaunch> </lcd> Edited September 28, 2023 by Crossfader

Why would this even be a thing? You can "log in" to XBMC?

I actually did see that. I'm not sure if I would call it logging in so much as using a separate profile. I think calling it a login is sort of fancying it up. But just wanted to say that replacing the default LCD.xml with this fixed the problem for me on XBMC-Emustation. Thank you!!
