iVirtualZero
My OG Xbox started to Frag after a recap using the Console 5 kits. The PSU has been successfully recapped, mod chip and the extra ram chips work as i did that before the recap, clock cap area is fine, i removed that cap quite a while ago and cleaned the area with isopropyl alcohol. Every cap is in the right place and in the right orientation. But i did install C3B1 near the AV port, the 100uf cap the wrong away around the first time. I fixed that mistake, powered it on again but i get a Frag. What could be the problem? I reflowed the solder many times, and can’t find shorts either. KaosEngineer
Where's the connection from the D0 pad on the modchip to the D0 point on the motherboard?
KaosEngineer
Oh wait, I finally read the comments for the posted images and see that you were able to fix it after connecting D0.

Is there a way to fix the bios on the mobo. On the 1.0 - 1.1 the bios chip is a 1024kb size and most bios files are 256kb so the flashing soft where will make 4 copies to fill the chip. You could try the 3 wire trick as this makes the Xbox boot from a different bank on the bios chip. This is way of adding switches to make a poor mans X3, Open Xenium. The other option is to replace the bios chip from a salvage 1.0 - 1.1 board or remove the bios chip and use a external programmer to reflash it. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
iVirtualZero
So the only way is to essentially bypass it or desolder and reflash it or replace it On 9/15/2021 at 9:15 AM, KaosEngineer said: Oh wait, I finally read the comments for the posted images and see that you were able to fix it after connecting D0. . I think i’ll just stick with the Open Xenium Chip.
