If you are not confident at soldering then find some old circuit boards and practice on them 1st.

If you are fitting to a version 1.0 - 1.4 you don't need that small board

Work in a well lit location and take you time and don't forget Flux is your friend.

If you are not sure Stop and ask questions

Cheers

The hard drive tools that are built in the Open Xenium are very limited and are really only suited to the stock 8gb HDD.

Once you have the chip fitted and working you can then setup a new large hard drive using a installation DVD disk like the OGXbox installation disk to format and install a new operating system/ Dash board to it.

I would suggest you try the different Dash boards and find one you like, I like the Xbmc4gamers.

You can then connect to the Xbox using FTP (I use FileZilla) and transfer games and apps to the newly setup hard drive, A better and quicker way to transfer large number of files is with a PC program called FATXplorer.

Is file suppose to be really large? I have recordable discs i can't fit it in there.

The ISO file is about 4.5gb and it will fit on a DVD-r blank, When you burn it write as slow as the software will go and use a brand name blank (Verbatim).

I use a freeware program called Express burn by  NCH software.

I tested Imgburn and it took 18.5 minutes to burn disk at  1X speed from the (OGXBox Installer 2021 - v1.5.3.iso) file

Use the Write image file to disk option

I also set the write speed to 1 and unticked the verify option

When it's finished the PC will not be able to read the DVD disk.

Do you mean the led for the eject button or the led on the open xenium.
