The XBOX art installer is fake and will never work

When downloading any packages to your computer there is still a default .xbe in them. and all Xbox apps/games have a default.xbe they have to or you cannot ever launch anything  Instead of a .exe which the computer reads for launching programs and apps, the xbox has a .XBE XBOX Executable. The XB stands for XBOX and the E stands for executable.

This whole thing is a major and complex mess.

I don't know... I'm just guessing but did it occur to you that the downloader is supposed to run on the pc and then you ftp the files to your xbox? 
The topic creator is the creator of the current softmods, and numerous other invaluable programs we all run on our Xboxes. He's not going to put something out that doesn't work. It's more likely that you are misunderstanding the purpose.

First of all do not talk down to me like your king shit and i don't know what I'm doing ok. I've been dealing with modded XBOXs probably since before you were born I'm talking about the days of FLASHFXP. So If I say something doesn't work, or something is wrong, then it doesn't work, and it's wrong.

Regardless of what you might think or what you've been lead to believe, when an xbox is modded, then everything can be done via a disk or FTP which means you can burn anything to a disk from your PC and then transfer it to the XBOX HDD and go from there.

I do, and have always done every mod I ever do on the xbox soft modded and chipped) all from just from the DVD drive and a file explorer because that's needed to copy any contents from any disk to the HDD. This specific softmod combined with upgrading the HDD, kills the DVD drive on the xbox rendering it unusable so even dvd2xbox doesn't work. As it stands now the DVD drive on this XBOX I'm using worked 100% fine until I soft modded it with this crap.

Just want to point out that XBMC4gamers is garbage for anything disk related. The disk drive itself works just fine, I have modded the specific xbox more than once and the DVD drive works just fine in every one of them except this soft mod, there isn't a single thing in the entire softmod which works when the DVD drive is required.

Because you're more in tuned with defending garbage than actually stepping back and seeing the issue let me sum it up for you, the topic creator is trolling people by saying these can be manually installed when that is totally untrue and FYI manual install means to ftp the files I mentioned above, put them on your xbox via a disk/ftp then run them from it.

This forum thread started in 2018 and contains outdated information. 

You can no longer process  the image archive originally available when this thread was started.

The artwork installer's hi-res image content stated in the first post is not longer available to download - the 23.1GB archive of image files to be processed.

You have to use URLdownloader - a script in XBMC4Gamers to download the latest Artwork Installer app for the Xbox.  Next, run this Artwork Installer to download the processed Xbox-ready artwork files for XBMC4Gamers.

Information in this thread is outdated.  The archive with the images is no longer available to download.  You cannot follow the instructions as the content required is no longer obtainable.

The originally available archive linked back in 2018 with the high-res images is no longer available for users to download and process with the Artwork Builder which is still available, but useless, for the creation of the Xbox-ready artwork resources for these two Xbox apps.

Processed artwork is still available using the downloader in XBMC4Gamers or XBMC-Emustation.

URLDownload -> should be URLDownloader

It is a script inside these two Xbox apps to download an Artwork Installer app which is then used to download and install the processed artwork and synopsis content to your console. 

Edit: Artwork Installer used to be a script in older versions of XBMC4Gamers and XBMC-Emustation.  The latest release is now a separate standalone application to run.  Make sure you use the latest versions of XBMC4Gamers and XBMC-Emustation.  If you installed yourself years ago or from old installation discs, the apps are outdated and need to be uninstalled then re-installed using the most current release.  Download, extract and install them to work as intended.

So this was an interesting thread to say the least. Got XBMC4GAMERS installed on my xbox and it loads, I go to URL downloader, then artwork installer, i download it, select a directory, it downloads and installs, and there is still no artwork on my games. Any ideas? I am new to this app so I may be doing something wrong.

@MadMartigan That actually didn't work, I tried that. Once you download the installer you need to launch it separately and then say install artwork. During the install/download it makes it seem like it is doing that, but it didn't. As soon as i moved it to E:\apps and opened it up and ran it, then all the artwork came in.

I’ve used it many times and familiar with how it works. Always helps to try and keep your apps and files in the same directory to avoid these simple issues. Glad you got it working.
