That would be good and if you can lift it up a little bit that would help with air flow as there is air vents both sides.

And if you do print something post a pic of the finished item and maybe the STL files .

No because the heat from the CPU and GPU with be transferred back into the Chip and  PCB and not the heatsink 

I have seen many car audio amplifier that failed because it was mounted with the heat sink facing down.

You can stick the top cover in the freezer for 15 minutes, give the inside a good smack, and the jewel will pop right off. The best part is that as it warms back up again the adhesive is still usable! So you can just rotate it 90 degrees and slap it back on there. Not as easy to switch back-and-forth as the PlayStation but it's a start!
