So i have a 1.0 xbox that doesnt stay on, 2 times it goes on off and then stays blinking. Tried to install a aladdin chip and it does the same.  Any advice? What may be the faulty part?

Here’s a link to the error codes, red & green doesn’t give us much to go on. Please login or register to see this link.
Do you know the history of the Xbox, is the modchip in or out at the moment?

The chip is out. It doesnt go to splash screen. So i dont have an error code to refere to. The thing is i power it on and it goes off and cycles on off until it stopes and gives me the cycling lights. I have 3 more xbox 2 softmodded and 1 hardmodded with aladdin chip with no pinheader just wired. This one is my first xbox that i screwed with a softmod....thats why i tried to put a chip on it. The d0 for me isthe most dificult to put on as it always comes lose. My hard moded xbox sometimes does the same as i power it for the 2 secs predicted to power the chip.it only  goes to the chip wen it gets to temperature after running for a few minutes in the other mode.

Regarding the D0 use the point on the underside for your version of Xbox it’s a lot less fiddly. If you do want to use the point on top expose a bit of the trace to make it easier.

So was the Xbox working okay before you tweaked the softmod?

Yes i did that years ago. And in the processe of young age i managed to lose all content in the hdd back then. So thats why the chip.Had this xbox stored ages ago. Can it be the psu?

If it is powering up it is more likely to be a bad cap. Did you get an error 7 before you put it in storage?

Cant remember. But i lost deleted all info on the original hdd back then. The thing doesnt even go to the xbox splash screen now, dont know what to do with it.

Same thing. Now i think i just screwed burned the d0 point on both sides of the board..... Fk.as this is a 1.0 i think theres nothing i can do anymore. Might scrap the Mb and salvage the rest for parts... FK

If you can get it to run you can tsop, you can probably still get a D0 point by just by exposing some of the trace. You can make an eeprom reader for £3.00 and rebuild the hdd.

I think it is most likely a bad cap but you can only really test them off the board.

It doesnt goes to xbox screen so cant do y thing.Might get it to a repairman to see what he can do. D0 point Its to small of a trace for me to get to it without ruining it more.

You probably should post a pic of the board around the spot where the soldering has been done.

are u sure u soldered to the correct point for d0? it's different on the 1.0, 1.1's than any of the rest.

That sounds like a dry solder joint on the modchip to main board or your D0 joint is bad.

If you have a pc just load pic, right click and hit edit, in resize choose 50% and if the file was 3Mb after save it will be 1.5Mb

      Hey everyone,
I've never actually owned an original Xbox myself. My uncle had one he got on launch day, but I only ever got to use it when I went to his house. Most of my time playing OG Xbox games has been on either a 360 or Xbox One.
I've come here because I have some interesting research to share on the Xbox port of Half-Life 2. HL2 can actually run some custom maps if injected into the files the right way, and I and a few others in the Source engine community are trying to figure out exactly how to make it work. We've got Garry's Mod maps working in Cxbx, so running on hardware is the next step.
I've known a bit of the Xbox Scene for a while by lurking on /r/originalxbox, so hopefully I'm not a complete noob.

Hey guys, i' got this 1.6 PSU that seems to be turning the 12v line OFF after some time until it stops feeding it at all.
The PSU was burned and repaired by other than me. It seems to be working perfectly, as i made a jumper from the 12v capacitor and it does indeed boot and work for hours, so it must be some component that's responsible for turning off the 12v line on it that is shorted or not operating properly. The thing is, i can't see any damaged component.
All the other lines do work and the power button does seem to function. I've been trying to track what component turns off the 12v line when i turn off the console, but to do that i'd need a spare 1.6 PSU which i don't have at the moment. It's a Delta PSU by the way.
I've made another post on this forum about the issue but it was in the wrong section. Also i didn't had a clue about what was making the PSU turn off until i found it was the 12v line.

      Hello,
I have an original Xbox (can't determine which version, looks like 1.4 or 1.5) modded with Aladdin Advance. It worked well until today - I decided to update the bios with EvoX D.6 EjectFix (checksum 74c6235497f474bf88b54b3fc52a20b2). Bin file with it was placed on my HDD so I presumed that it's ok to flash it. After flashing, my Xbox turned off and when I turned it on, it startet to FRAG (two green flashes, then green/red flash with no video). What have I done? How I can undone it?
