KaosEngineer
Found another novel way to read the Xbox's EEPROM on a computer running Linux with a VGA port posted by Jesenko Mehmedbasic. (Note: DVI and HDMI ports have the I2C interface too) Yes, through the VGA connector! It has an I2C interface to read the Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) stored on a serial eeprom in the monitor. Looks like it should be compatible. Just need to make sure the package's form factor fits the pad layout present on the Xbox's motherboard. SOIC-8 I see Digi-Key has them SOIC-8 packaged chips available in many different deliverable package types: cut tape bulk tube digi-reel tape & reel etc. Some deliverable packaging types can be purchased with a minimum quantity of 1 while others like tape-and-reel require a 2500 or 5000 minimum quantity (1 entire reel). bulk packaging, min. quantity 1 but for $0.12 each instead of $0.11 as your original posted item. https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/stmicroelectronics/M24C02-RMN6P/497-8559-ND/1663564
