Will a Mod Chip Fix a Coma Console Version 1.0?

i tried this fix https://web.archive.org/web/20090203223828/http://www.llamma.com/xbox/Repairs/ComaConsole.htm and it changed nothing. i've heard a mod chip would work. can anyone give me info on this? preferably a cheap one since i don't even know if the xbox is any good.

If the  BIOS splitting did not work the next step is to try a modchip and any working chip will do to test the main board.

Aladdin mod chips can be found on fleeBay cheap if you search for "direct reading mod decoding chip"

do i just install the chip and turn the xbox on as normal or is there a special procedure to boot from the mod chip?

No you just fit the modchip and power on.

If you use an aladdin chip I wire the BT to ground and not to the power switch and that makes the chip always active.

if a bad bios chip is the only thing wrong with the xbox, will this definitely make the xbox work?

Yes it will and if it does not fix it you have a chip for the next Xbox you get.
