Changing an Aladdin XT+ 4032 To a 4064

Hello you all, I had an idea, that involved getting an Aladdin XT 4032, and replacing the Lattice chip with an LC4064V one. I was wondering, that after flashing the chip with a JTAG programmer, that the chip would function similarly to an Aladdin Xt 4064, or not. I don't want to go into this, and end up wasting a few dollars, because I didn't ask for help before doing this.

Hello laminatesnow

I take it you trying to make a Aladdin chip that can be used with a LCD

2 problems

1st The aladdin chip's that have been sold in the last 5  or more years don't have any tracks from the solder pads on the edge for the LCD going to the  LC4032 Lattice chip.

2nd And the code that was used to run the LCD and function as a mod chip is not easy to find if at all.

Cheers

SS Dave

Soft modding is like masturbating, It get's the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.

Hi, ryzee has a work around for this but you would need a tsop with it as you lose the ability to run a custom bios.
