You have problems starting it from DVD of from HDD?

I have EU version, transferred it via FTP on the HDD and it works good without patching anything.

I've tried ntsc and pal versions from my hdd and it does the same thing, I've tried many different dls and isos and it does the same thing, one thing I noticed is that if I mash during the startup the game will boot into the anti vandalism screen and freeze there

The runes tell me...............................................................you have a v1.6 Xbox and are trying to play the game in 480p. 😀

If so that is the problem.

You actually have to run the script not just install it. :)

In your main XBMC menu (depends on the skin exactly where it is) but if it is Project Mayhem III, the typical default skin, underneath the main menu items alongside Settings on its left and File Manager to its right you should see Scripts. Click on it and it should list all installed Scripts. Find Rocky5's v1.6 480p Launcher and click to run it. It should show "Running" but there's usually a slight delay before it actually launches its options menu.

The operation is fairly self explanatory - it will auto-patch all games' folders from a list of those with the  v1.6 480p issue when it finds them installed on the HDD in "Games". A known working 480p launcher is installed to each game folder.

This varies as not all launchers work for all games and there are some games for which there is no known working 480p launcher.

The script tool also allows you to patch individual games manually so if you come across another game not included in the patch list you can try that instead.

Because the games' folders themselves are all patched individually to include the appropriate 480p launcher this means you can be using any other main dashboard ie. UnleashX and the game will  now run in 480p from that too.

A very useful little tool - so remember Rocky5 should be given the kudos for creating it.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's amazing but it wasn't quite the fix, I ran it as you said above and it did install everything even adding a little folder with the patch to the game directory however whenever I try to open it it still crashes the same way, I ran it under xbmc scripts and patched it but it still does the same thing and I can still mash A to get past a few screens but after a good 3 or 4 seconds it'll freeze, I doubt I installed and ran the script wrong as it did create new xbe files to use instead of the original xbe file so I'm sure I did use the script correctly unless I have to put the patch folder the script created somewhere else inside the game folder (I haven't moved it or anything, it's just like the script made it) no artifacts appear on screen or anything either it just literally freezes, any more help? :(

Well if you are using a v1.6 and it is still being a problem getting it to run I'd guess you installed from a download rather than from the original disc contents.

Possible that it just requires Action Control List patching - even if installed to the HDD DVD2Xbox will ACL patch it. Launch DVD2Xbox (with full ACL patch files). Use File Manager and highlight the game folder. Press the White controller button and use the Process ACL menu option.

If that does not fix the problem: dodgy download or a problem during FTP perhaps?

Hi I have installed my Aladdin xt today. I didn't expect to run into any issues as seems simple enough and I can solder small things neatly as I'm used to modifying car ECUs.
I think where I have an issue is the d0 wire, none of the guides actually show it connected not can I find an image online.
The guide I've followed seems to say connect the d0 point on the board to ground. I have done this I think. Please see my picture and it causes my Xbox to not boot just flashes red light.
Please can someone help me with where it needs to connect to

Hi all! I need some help with switching out the hard drive in my XBOX. I've been battling with it for some time, so I decided to get some help.
My XBOX version is 1.1. I currently have it softmodded with Rocky5's softmod. Originally, I had gotten a 1TB SATA drive for my XBOX (WD10EZEX-22MFCAO, which seemed like a good choice, since many other WD10EZEX drives seemed to work for others in the Please login or register to see this link. ). Along with it, I got a SATA to IDE adapter, an 80-wire IDE cable, and the molex power splitter.
When I first attempted to configure the drive, the exposed contacts from the back of the SATA to IDE adapter (where the power connects in) touched the back of the hard drive when I was hot swapping the IDE cable. There was a spark (I didn't think to cover the connection), and since CHIMP would never load, I assumed I had fried the drive. I ordered another one, and it wouldn't work either, so I realized it was a compatibility issue.
After this, I decided to switch to a smaller, cheaper IDE drive (Please login or register to see this link. ) that a friend said he had gotten to work before. I ordered it and attempted to configure it (using the original 40 wire IDE cable and no SATA to IDE adapter of course), and while I was able to launch CHIMP, it errors out part way through the process.
      Here's what I've been doing:
Install CHIMP to E:/Apps, and place linuxboot.cfg into my E: drive Open the XBOX. Unplug the molex cable from the original hard drive and connect the splitter to it, one end of which I connect back to the original hard drive Place the new hard drive on top of my DVD drive (with the antistatic bag the drive came in between them) Check the mode of my new hard drive. I have tried it both with the jumper in the Cable Select Enabled position, and in Slave mode (no jumper) Launch the XBOX and wait 5 minutes for the DVD drive to go to sleep Swap the IDE cable from the DVD drive to the slave drive (within 5 seconds) Go to my applications list and launch CHIMP On the first menu button prompt, I press A to confirm that the slave drive is connected CHIMP begins to run its processes. After loading for a bit, it gets stuck on a screen saying that it can't allocate resources, with a picture of the Linux penguin in the top right I'm assuming that since CHIMP can actually boot up with this drive, that the problem might not be the drive itself, though I could be wrong (with the previous WD10EZEX drives, my XBOX would just completely freeze up when I booted CHIMP). I've tested my XBOX with just the existing hard drive installed, and that has no problems, as I'm able to play games fine and navigate through the dashboard just fine. I'm not entirely sure where my problem could be coming from, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
