Trying to upgrade my HDD to 1TB on a 1.4 soft modded Xbox. The 1TB drive is 2.5" when I clone the drive with chimp should I plug in the molex splitter to power the adapter or can I simply just use he adapter without a y molex splitter.

Just tried to clone with chimp without the y molex splitter and said couldn't lock the hdd

Which brand and model 2.5" hard drive?  Is it IDE or SATA?  If SATA which IDE-to-SATA adapter are you using?

If you don't use a Molex power splitter, how are you powering the IDE-to-SATA adapter if a SATA hard drive and/or the hard drive itself?

Fixed it got it working now I'm just wondering if a 15,000rpm HDD would work in the xbox
