Your going to need the soft-mod files for the Xbox to boot with out the mod chip

But the older soft-mods don't always work with a mod-chip or TSOP flash so you may have to update the soft-mod.

I can't be much help when it to come to soft modding as I don't do soft-mods.

 

I think it would be some thing like fit the mod-chip and hard drive then if it loads up then you can find the software to lock the drive to the Xbox

You would then may need to add the files required to run the Xbox as a soft-modded unit to the hard drive then power down and remove the mod-chip.

Fingers crossed when you power up the Xbox it boots and runs and you can then reflash the TSOP.
