Just softmoded my xbox with JCRocky5 softmod and installed emustation. I cant figure out what all of the emulators stand for in the rom/media/emulator folders. Does anyone have a list of what they all are? I know some like nes and snes but there are a lot that i dont know. Also, I really want to know what the ports emulator is. I think its for DOOM but am unsure.

Thanks!

Hello Bendoggie117

There all differant types of games computers you copy the roms(the files for each game) for the appropriate games machine in to the folder called roms.

There not pre loded you have to find and copy the roms your self.

eg: A commdore 64 game rom would go in the c64 rom directory. then load the c64 emulator from the main menu anfd from there you can run the came in the rom folder

As an example CoinOPS 8 Massive has well over 4000 games listed there all old school types Frogger,1942,Space invaders,ECT ECT.

CoinOPS 8 Massive is 85gig with 33000 + Files in 1350 folders

So if you not going to use them you can remove them if space is a problem

I hope that makes sense.

Cheers

SS dave

Yes that makes sense, however, not to be rude but I already understood that. I just wanted to know what each folder’s name corresponded to the their respected emulator. Does that make more sense? Again I don’t want to sound like I know it all because I don’t but you did help with the CoinOPS 8 folder. Does CoinOPS have nes, atari, or is it like old school computer games? Im basically trying to sell these xbox’s I have but want to mod them first and have the most popular games before I sell it.

Thanks again!

CoinOPS is mainly arcade I believe but depending on the version you have it could also contain all the old school consoles etc...  I see you were talking about the Massive version above, that should include basically everything!! 😃

There seem to be some many different versions of CoinOPS out there now that it can be a little confusing trying to get the latest and most complete version lol

I’m having an issue with the box failing to showing up for my emulators. I have my view mode set to detailed and the art I downloaded came straight from the XBMC downloader. I even checked to see if the files were downloaded into the correct directory.
I’m really stumped on this one. I feel like I’m definitely missing something and I can’t seem to find any solutions online. If you guys got any advice or potential solutions it would be very much appreciated.

      Hello, OG Xbox noob here.
I was wondering how expansions & DLC were handled on the OG Xbox since I don't have any on hand to mess around with. Stuff like the Halo 2 multiplayer map pack & the DOA 3 Booster disc. (those are the only two I know of that were released physically, if there are any others let me know.)
was it all just copied from the disc to the hard drive? If so was there any form of copy protection? If you have a modded console with games ripped to the hard drive do expansions still work properly?

      Alright folks,
Of the numerous aladdin chips i've installed into 1.6 xboxes, i have installed the pin header with pin 4 removed, rebuilt lpc, connected bt->gnd on chip, cut the lframe trace at the xyclops chip and ignored installing the d0->gnd wire. This has always worked fine for me.
Recently i have seen different and conflicting instructions on de-pinning the header. it was suggested to also remove pin 3 (lframe), 6 (5v) and 12 (gnd).
I'm wondering what the benefit is and whether i need to start doing it this way?
I'm presuming pin 6 has been left out so standby power isn't lighting the led, and pin 3 to disable lframe without cutting the trace? why remove the second gnd (pin 12) though?
Just wondering what the consensus was on this, is this a better way to do it, is my usual way now incorrect??
Figured it was time to ask the experts!
      Cheers
