My small collection

Hi everyone,

    I'm new to the forum, and after recently moving I've finally gotten my collection out of storage and into my new place. I'm slowly going through boxes and taking inventory as I go, so I figured I'd post some photos of the current set, along with some plans I have for a few of the units.

 

First one I pulled out was the one I started with is a 2002 model, rocking an old xecuter 2.6ce chip with unleashx. I've swapped it into a crystal case, added a random Nvidia gpu fan, green led case fan, and a swanky asus IDE cable I found. The disc drive is out so I can replace the belt, and the hdd is on my testbench for recovery as its failing after 9 years of uptime.  

I'm planning on modding this box further with an ssd, more ram, rainbow-puke, hmdi output, and potentially a small water loop for laughs (I doubt this would be practical)

I do have 2 more og boxes, one of which being this motherboard's old case with the crystals old motherboard left over from the swap (stock), and another black unit I received from a family member that is apparently modded with evox, but I'm not sure if there is a chip, or what it would be. Will post more pics as the others are dug out of boxes, along with the 360's and such.

Correct! the crystal box will glow all the colours!

I just woke up so I'll start posting the others shortly as I get them out of boxes, but first its time for pancakes

Before I fully read how you were using it ("Rainbow Puke") I was assuming you were talking about the LPC wiring.

lol Yeah I could have been more descriptive with that. Although now you got me thinking of what could be done with the wiring? UV-light and white sleeves maybe?

I'm usually not one to have too much lighting on my PC's n stuff, but thought it would be fun with this box. Definitely open to ideas and suggestions. Just found the other 2 boxes of consoles so I'll have more pics soon

Do you even WANT the wiring? You could just use a pin header and call it a day. Mount the chip to the mobo. Using wires is totally antiquated at this point.

For the chip, I have been planning on that for a bit, just haven't gotten around to doing it as it's working fine and has been inside the original case for 20+ years. After cloning the old HDD, I plan on deleting the large drive and tray to expose the right side of the insides, and slip a 2.5 SSD between the Disc drive and the lid. Using a pin header would help keep the chip tucked away nicely, but I may use longer wires instead to move it somewhere more visible.

I was thinking it would be cool to sleeve the psu and fan wires, definitely gotta clean up that hot glue mess while I'm at it lol. Still not really sure what direction i will go with it, but being my childhood xbox, this is definitely a labor of love and creativity, rather than of logic and practicality.

The same crystal Xbox, long with my first case+crystal 1.6 board, and the diamond plate is the mystery mod with evox(I haven't dug into it yet). The 360's are both stock, but the R2D2 is awaiting an rgh mod after I finish the crystal box. 

 

I have no idea where i got the black 360, it kinda showed up one day. Not really sure what I'm gonna do with it tbh.

 

I may have others in boxes that I'm not remembering, like the mystery 360, so I'll update when I find more.

This is the underside of the old case from the x2.6ce, still has the business card of the shop that installed it. Blurred out my old' mans last name and old phone number.

It's currently loose, and I think I just tossed it into frame for the photo.
Sorry about the late update, my main PC bit the dust an it took some time to recover the data from the old drive. (my login for this site, among others)
But I'm finally back in action!

I was considering that, but I've settled on a plan to relocate the mod chip to a custom gem on top of the console (Kinda like Ironman's chest thingy)
Its such a shame that something as cool as these old chips get locked away inside, never to be seen.
