Tidus3000
Iv got an ogxbox with a faulty dvd drive. Really struggling to find a replacement online. When I first modded an original Xbox the mod scene was thriving and parts could be found everywhere. Any idea where I could find one now? Magicaldave
I have a handful of working-ish drives, but you’d probably be better off either fixing your own or finding a way not to use it. The xbox Repair guide, hosted on this site, has much useful information on fixing DVD drives.
Tidus3000
While I did modding way back when I’d still consider myself a noob. Think I’d still be ok?
Ging3rguy
What do you want the dvd drive for? If it’s to play original disk you can find drives on the internet but they are not cheap. If it’s to play backups any aftermarket drive will play those. You just need to leave your original drive powered up and use a splitter and sata ide adapter to run the aftermarket drive. it ain’t pretty but it works. I would get yourself a larger hdd and just load it up with whatever you want via ftp.
Tidus3000
It’s basicly just so I can softmod a bit easier. I still only k ow the old way so I gotta look into things more, but it’s also so I can play the original games tbf. Might be best I just find a cheap faulty Xbox with a working Disc drive for all that but emulators are priority number 1.
