Xecuter 2.0 Lite

I started working on another one and it has an Xecuter 2.0 Lite chip. It says Xecuter2 under the X at boot, but boots to the stock dash. I've held Power and Eject for a few seconds each at boot, but no change. What's my next step? I thought holding one of the power buttons was the way to do it. I'll add pics soon.

Removing the Bios jumper makes it FRaG with no A/V. Removing the On/Off jumper defaults to the stock bios, stock dash. Removing the Flash jumper has no effect.

This is all that was inside it. Scrolling down to the chip on the link I initially posted, it doesn't include any looks like. Just the chip, cable connectors, ground wire, and a header.

I'd like to remove it completely and flash the Hynix, ideally.

That would be the easiest solution since you don’t have the bank switch to make it work. However, you can still buy those cables and the switches are printable I believe.

It doesn't have an external bank select switch?  It's older than X2 modchips that do have an external switch board.

The BIOS jumper selects bank 0 or bank 1 according to if it is installed or not.  The BIOS in the other bank must not be for your Xbox revision.  IIRC, they shipped with FlashBIOS  2.x for v1.0-1.4 Xbox's.  It may not even be compatible with v1.2/1.3 or v1.4s.

What version is the Xbox it is installed in?

If it doesn't boot into a replacement dashboard, one is most likely not installed on the hard drive.  You need to boot an Xbox installer disc to install one (e.g. OGXbox Installer 2021).

This old X2 is not controlled by any special power/eject button combo.  All is controlled by the jumpers on the modchip itself.  Not easy to change without opening the case to get to them.  Or creating a DIY externally mounted switch that connects to them in place of the installed pin header jumpers.

Once you boot the installer disc, press Y to open UnleashX's System Info screen.  What is the kernel version?

It's a v1.0, kernel 4034. I've disassembled it to clean it, it won't be back together for a few days. One of the wires came loose from the board just from barely wiggling it, which is why I'd prefer to tsop it and remove it. My solder skills are horrible.
