Tsop'd 1.2/1.3 XBox With Corrupted Softmod

I TSOP'd one of my Xbox's (it also has a new 250 GB disk I installed) and I was "playing" with HeXEn and can't boot to a dashboard any more.

My question is given good hardware and a bootable HeXEn disk, how can I do a full reset of the hard drive with a fresh install?

I am new to this and would like to get to the level that what an "Out of Box" Xbox that is TSOP'd would boot up to that is comparable to a fresh install of Windows on a PC.

Thanks!

In HeXEn, use the menu option to cleanup/remove a softmod after TSOP flashing.

Are you able to boot HeXEn at power up?  Load the disc into the DVD tray and power cycle.  If HeXEn is starting the power ring should turn RED.  At the end of the flubber, LιNUX should be printed instead of Microsoft under the big X logo. Wait for it!  It takes a minute or two before HeXEn's menu displays.

Boot HeXEn, use the menus for modchip/TSOP (you'd already flashed a new BIOS?)  Build new NTSC or PAL HDD depending upon your Xbox's region.

After building/installing the new HDD, which formats and installs stock dashboard files to C and E partitions, you can install replacement dashboards (e.g., UnleashX, EvoxDash, XBMC) and other applications available on the HeXEn install disk.

The EEPROM backup is good to have.  Not needed with a modded BIOS unless you want to run the stock MS Dashboard which requires the HDD to be locked.  HeXEn can lock the HDD to the Xbox it is installed as it reads the content of the EEPROM on the motherboard.

It should be 'A Y B X' for passcode or' Xbox' for password.

It's not very secure as you can FTP to the Xbox, download the config.xml file and edit the file  with a text editor to check the value for that menu item.

Obtain access to config.xml by open the Hexen.iso file in Qwix and extracting the XISO contents.
