B_Brad
Hey Everyone, I am trying to patch to 480p but the game keeps booting up in 480i. I have an original copy of the game which I ripped to my OG Xbox and plays fine of the HDD. I have a 1.4 Halo TSOP running Evox with UnleashX, HD cables and video settings at 480p and 720p. I replaced the default.xbe with the below patch but is still booted up in 480i. (both hard drive files and burnt to a DVD) https://www.epforums.org/showthread.php?86942 I then tried the Hex edit as mentioned below on post #15 but it sill didn't work https://www.ign.com/boards/threads/darkwatch-doesnt-support-progressive-scan.96422065/ I'm not sure if there is something I am missing, any help would be really appreciated. Thank you
Ging3rguy
Are you running your xbox ntsc or pal, try swapping and see if that works.
Ging3rguy
Here’s a link to a few force 480p bios. you could try one of them and see if that helps. http://www.eurasia.nu/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&lid=11314&ttitle=Force_480p_Xbox_BIOS_Collection_v3
shakex
I've run into the same problem the B_Brad mentioned. Has anyone tried this and can verify that the 480p hex mod'ed default.xbe for Darkwatch works?

Thank you After connecting the component cable, did you go into the MS dashboard to enable 480p in the Video Settings?
retrosherman
I know this is an old thread but I just wanted to confirm, that HEX Edit worked perfectly for me.
prtscn
Same problem with NTSC version. Tried pre made xbe fix which uses hex edit from C7 46 34 20 01 00 00 to 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 (suppose this auto 480p) Then i tried C7 46 34 20 01 00 00 to C7 46 34 40 01 00 00 (this is forced 480p) found another patch 8B 57 28 50 8B 47 30 50 8B 47 2C 51 8B 4F 04 52 to 50 8B 47 30 50 8B 47 2C 51 8B 4F 04 90 6A 00 90 These patches work on PAL version xbox dash have 480p enabled. Maybe softmod and virtual C has something to do with it? Edited September 19, 2023 by prtscn
