Sata Hd With 80 Way Ide Cable

Recommended Posts

Hi

Does anyone have some current eBay links to suitable cables? I have an 80 way cable but to get it to connect to the bits the cable is twisted all over the place and the orientation seems wrong compared to the original 40 way cable.

So links to something that fits tidily and sensible orientation would be great, thanks....  (Global shipping, I'm in UK not USA!)

Check Amazon and eBay using '18" ide ultra cable'.  For eBay, sort it by lowest cost (including shipping).  I like the 'StarTech.com' cable.  (I wouldn't recommend this super bright yellow cable at Amazon as the middle connector wasn't connected on two of the cables that I bought.)  When you see something, just look for the blue connector (for connecting to your IDE to SATA adapter) and that there are two other connectors (which will be used for connecting to the mobo and DVD drive).

(I also use the red StarTech.com IDE2SATA2 adapter.)

Thanks. my cable looks same as startech in spacing and yet it looks a total mess when inside the xbox. I've ordered a new SATA adapter as the one I had lying around didnt allow you to set master/slave etc and machine just chucks error 13 when I boot with it and DVD doesnt read.... So must be dodgy adapter

Search for a 24" (60cm) 80-wire 40-pin UltraATA/IDE cable.  It will fit much easier than an 18" (45cm) cable.  And, yes the connectors will not be in the same orientation as the stock 40-wire cable unless you make one yourself.

Purchase 60cm/24" of 80-wire ribbon cable and 1 of each - host, slave and master 80-wire 40-pin IDE connectors.  There are three different connectors required to support cable select.  And, a suitable crimping tool. However, these items will cost much much more than purchasing a prefabbed cable made for a PC.

Hi all, Just discovered the forum. Exited to be here! Hoping someone might have some wisdom to share with me. I recently had a bad flash on my x2.6 chip, both banks (running on a 1.6 Xbox) and so I'm hoping to hot swap it with a working Aladdin chip, which I ordered. Since everything is wired for the X2.6, would it be possible to hot swap from the Aladdin? Would I need to change anything to make it work with the Aladdin, or do anything special hardware-installation-wise? Would there be any complications with the flash? I was thinking of using Hexen 2019. Any insight appreciated. Thanks!

      Dear All,
I currently own 2 xbox, one 1.4 and one 1.2 motherboard revision, both work fine, but on 1.2 I see vertical lines, when running on Pal Interlaced modes (480i) since the graphics chip is different, Focus vs Conexant, has anyone experience the same?
Both mobos have latest Ind_Bios 5004.67, brand new caps and thermals replaced
