sandog
How about for load time with the different cables?
KaosEngineer
It doesn't make much difference in the Xbox. The BIOS/Kernel does not seem to use the higher speeds a different cable provides. However, for many people using a SATA HDD / IDE-to-SATA adapter combo, an 80-wire 40-pin high-speed cable is required for the drive to work reliably. Otherwise, error 07 sometimes occurs. Change the IDE cable to the high-speed one; the error goes away.
sandog
So with the parts I'm buying I should get the 80 wire 40 pin?
Incursion64
Cheapest Route - https://www.cablewholesale.com/products/ide-scsi/ide-cables/product-21at-10118-100.php Cheap and Easy Route - https://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Cable-Device-Conductor-inch/dp/B000I21Y28/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=24+inch+ide+cable&qid=1556828217&s=gateway&sr=8-2 Note: the 24" are slated to be in stock May 16th. Cable wholesale sometimes has them on their site direct for less money. What's nice about the 24" cable is you just use the blue end on the hard drive, and you have plenty of space to manage the motherboard and dvd connector. Other options of course were listed above but i've used over 100 of these with no issues.

The one that you linked here looks great. Too bad it doesn't ship to Canada or I'd pick a bunch up. EDIT: Just placed an order through the cablewholesale site. They didn't have the 24" but that's okay for me. Edited May 2, 2019 by TEK Nemesis
