ShinGoutetsu
Bored on lockdown in the UK, modelled the mainboard (not complete obviously) to check if my case design dimensions are correct

ShinGoutetsu
Added a few more components to the xbox mainboard, might come on useful for anyone else designing a case
ShinGoutetsu
Cpu and gpu heatsinks and fans added plus more capacitors. I know there's no blades on the fans, they're a pain to do
GoTeamScotch
Very cool design! Following this thread to watch how it progresses.
ShinGoutetsu
HDD in place and status LED's added. You can see there is space for my OGX360 and a modchip below the HDD bracket

sweetdarkdestiny
Will the SATA adapter fit in there? To me it looks like its to close to the side panel.

I need to test print the case and hdd bracket to check everything fits, then I can make any adjustments where i need to.

neakmenter
This is lovely! Obviously, you'll also be designing an external PSU case too?

spotopolis
Would you be willing to share the 3d printer files once you are done with that? I am working on a slim system myself. Testing heatsink fitting and dvd pcb placement. (I have since ordered the openxenium dvd elimination pcb) https://imgur.com/gallery/RAI03qp These are parts I have ordered for once the DVD elimination pcb shows up so I can build a right angle adapter and directly connect my drive to the board without the bulky IDE cable. https://imgur.com/a/ih4uzjQ

Regarding the disc drive I am using a no dvd bios which is TSOP flashed to the board. I've done this before with no issues, The HDD will be set up with a dashboard so I can just FTP anything over to it. Can I ask where you got your heatsinks from? I've designed a replacement bracket to use a Star Tech 1U server heatsink and fan for the CPU and a smaller generic 40mm heatsink and fan for the GPU. I've designed a replacement bracket to use a Star Tech 1U server heatsink and fan for the CPU and a smaller generic 40mm heatsink and fan for the GPU. I got the heatsinks off ebay the heatsink is the "Titan ATI/NVIDIA Copper VGA Cooler TTC-CUV3AB" Im doing all this for a 1.6 xbox, but the more I dig into it, the harder having a 1.6 is making it. Im trying to find ATX to Xbox power adapters and they are all for 1.0-1.5 Xboxs. I may have to try and revive yet another Xbox to downgrade to something other than a 1.6 to get all this working. I just didnt want to deal with a clock cap.
ShinGoutetsu
Thanks for the link, im trying several different heatsink setups to determine the most effective and efficient ones. To be honest 1.6's have a lot of negative points. You can't tsop flash, you can't ram upgrade, you have to rebuild the lpc to install a modchip and the video encoder isn't the best either. They do still have clock caps, its near the IDE port I think but I've not heard anything about them failing, I assume because they used a better capacitor. I prefer 1.1's myself. ShinGoutetsu
Mostly finished modelling the pico psu and atx to xbox adapter to make sure it all fits when assembled. Now to model the sata adapter for the hdd

ShinGoutetsu
I'm also designing a full sized and "slim" (no DVD drive) case so my mini will be one of three case options. Here's a quick mock up of the full sized one (ignore the xbox logo, will most likely not have that)
sweetdarkdestiny
I realy like that slim case render pic above <3 . But I still miss a display in the middle (Should be possible with one of those slim QLED ones?).
