If it is working, no need to do much more than grab Hexen 2018 image, burn to DVD and install. Grab the EEPROm and save it in a good place. PC and maybe on a CD/DVD. I have all of my EEPROMs from Original Xboxes and NAND from 360s on a disc. Also, you may want to get a newer drive. 2TB if you can. Not sure how old the 250GB is, but you might as well clone it to a newer larger drive (if you have some extra cash) to avoid the drive dying and losing everything on the disk. Use Chimp and Rocky5s tutorial. I think you can also zero out the HDD so this is not an issue, but i have not tried this yet. Not necessary with modchips, but might as well after you are done with the above.

It is one of the best low budget Xbox Chip ever.

DuoX2 has two 512K memory banks, one of the bank for an officially flashed xbox linux bios, another one is flashed by someone. Maybe with EvoM8+. You can boot with every bank (as you see the switch on the chip). XboxLinux bios usuable for flashing the other bank.

You are able with it to change HDD anytime. If your Dashboard failed or something went wrong, you can rebuild everything (MS Dashboard, filesystem etc).

You are lucky! I try to find DuoX 2 more than one year but I found only for horrible price :(

DO NOT FORGET! Banks are 512K!!! And if you have 1.6 or 1.6a version of Xbox, you have to flash bank with bios for 1.6/1.6a.

Yeah, that's an old X2 BIOS.

The latest X2 BIOS (512KB) is 5035 or 256KB 4981.67 actually 4983.67 but you can't use XBTool to make any changes to the BIOS setup as Team Xecuter encrypted it differently than 4981.

Other BIOS's to use would be Evox M8plus or iND-BiOS 5003 or the Beta Feb-11-05  release (aka 5004).

iND-BiOS has a config file on the HDD (C:\ind-bios.cfg) to make configuration/customization changes as does X2 5035 (E:\x2config.ini).

Of all the Duo x2 chips I fitted 1 of the banks was for version 1.0 to 1.5 and the other bank was for 1.6 boxes. when in 1.6 mode there was a shield on the top left of the boot screen. I would normally reflash it with my own bios any way. later on i started using the DUO X2 Lite chip as it was a waste having 2 banks for 98% of users.
