Hello,

I have a chipped Xbox with all the goodies: FTP access, 2TB hard drive, XBOX4gamers as default, etc...

I'm the original owner and I never connected it to Xbox Live!

I would like to connect it to Insignia but I believe that my dashboard needs an update...

My dashboard version is 4817

How can I install V2 Xbox Live for Insignia?

I already have an Insignia registration!

THANK YOU! and have a good weekend!

Also, my XBOX4gamers version is 1.2.122 and I can FTP to it but when I click the URL downloader updater is says no network access but I'm sure that it's connected to the internet! I just want to update the game trainers! any way to do that manually?

Thanks again!

I tired to replace the dashboard but 5960 reboots the console when I click on Xbox Live! I copied the 5960 files to the root of C:\ but renamed the xbe so I did not loose the boot for the XBMC4gamers dashboard and it reboots the console when I click on Xbox Live! I tried to run the 5960 dashboard from a folder but it also reboots the console when I click on Xbox Live!

I believe that I have to many things in there! I will try to delete everything and just keep the 5960 dashboard and the xbe for the XBMC4gamers dashboard!

Thanks for any suggestions!

Can it be my old chip? it's a solderless Matrix with EvoX D.6 flash! I do not want to reflash the chip...

You should not have to rename the Xbox dashboard's dot xbe file - xboxdash.xbe.  XBMC4Gamers is not started, well should not be started, from that file on the Xbox's C drive.

I definitely suggest updating the BIOS on your modchip to a much newer BIOS release.

CerBIOS 2.2.1 beta (download available here or xbins FTP server), patched ind-bios 5003 release or M8plus after being loaded and saved by EVTool v1.0.9 to add the LBA48 v3 patch to its xbins FTP server distro.

Thank you Kaos for your advise! I have been reading and informing myself and I believe that your recommendation is my best option for that xbox! I already upgraded my MS dash to 5960 but now the problem is my 20 year old bios! I will flash my Matrix chip with CerBIOS and I'm going to service and clean my 1.6 xbox! I'm going to replace the CPU and GPU thermal paste and clean it up! I'm pretty sure that the IDE cable that I have there is the original one... it never gave me an error... do I need to replace it with a 40-Pin 80-Wire one? the one that I have right now works OK... do you know what are the IGR default buttons? THANK YOU AGAIN!

Quick question: because the xbox is already hard modded I can flash it from the EvoX dash lunched from the HDD? is that correct? I will FTP the bios file to c:\ and or the EvoX folder and the ini file to c:\

You only need an 80 wire if you're trying to push past UDMA 2. Otherwise it should be fine. It won't hurt, but I don't think there's an actual purpose unless you're running a sata drive and certain sata converter chipsets.

FTP the BIOS dot bin file into the subfolder BIOS where evoxdash's XBE file is running from (e.g. C:\evoxdash.xbe create a C:\BIOS subfolder and upload the dot bin file there).

I believe you can flash a Matrix modchip using Evox but I've never had one and it has been years since I've looked into flashing one of them.
