  1. Not sure if this is the right place to post this. Also, if it's stupid I'm sorry, I don't really know anything about electronics yet. I'm thinking about the possibility to convert the memory units ports of the S controller to put in a lithium battery and something like a bluetooth transmitter. I'm totally noob, so actually I don't know if this would actually work, with a usb bluetooth receiver plugged in or wired to one of the controller ports. Since it is the original controller no drivers would be needed and it should work like it was plugged in with a cable. I was also thinking about using the same kind of transmitters that are used in keyboards or mouses. I made some research on the net but seems that nobody did or even tried doing something like this with an S controller. Is that because this mod won't actually work?
  2. I'm attempting to flash the official wireless D-Link firmware to the adapter. I'll look for the firmware now.
  3. https://www.retrorgb.com/retro-fighters-wireless-xbox-controller.html Pretty cool they’re finally releasing wireless controllers for the XBOX. It seems a pretty good controller and cool to see that hall sensor sticks becoming more the standard. Pre-orders are open between 15th March til April 1st. Shipping is in October. I’m grabbing a pair
  4. Hi all, Long time modder and lurker, first time poster but I wanted to share a project I have been working on the last couple months. It is a small PCB which allows you to use Wireless Xbox 360 controllers (via the Xbox 360 USB Wireless Receiver) on an OG Xbox console. The design is loosely based on another similar project I did for the Nintendo 64 console https://imgur.com/gallery/HVLea3d Following the release of this board another forum user sent me an email asking if this device could be adapted for the OG Xbox, and funnily enough that was the next thing I was going to attempt! I wanted to support the following features atleast: Up to four players with rumble support. 100% USB Bus Powered so no external power supply needed. Fast bootup time, so it's up and running in time for the OG Xbox. Low input lag. As always, this is a hard thing to measure, however I can say that an OG Xbox controller is polled by the console every 4ms or so. My software gathers all the Xbox 360 wireless controller data, collates it and generates all the HID reports every 4 ms aswell. It's possible an input may miss this 4ms window, so would happen in the next 4ms window. As you probably know, an OG Xbox controller is basically a USB HID device, however it has some custom requests and other slight differences, meaning that it doesn't work on a Windows machine without a custom driver, and conversely a generic HID controller will not work in an OG Xbox so there was some work in getting a reliable and compatible solution working. To support four controllers, it is necessary to have 4x Full USB device controllers. However I imagine most people would rarely play with 4 people at once so my design is modular meaning you can support anywhere from one up to 4 players as required to keep cost down. This is a link to the github repo with what I came up with https://github.com/Ryzee119/ogx360 A link to my etsy store where you can buy one pre-assembled https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/672315615/ogx360-add-wireless-xbox-360-controller Cheers!
  5. Are there any low lag wireless controller solutions for the OG xbox?
  6. This is a long shot since I can't seem to find anything on the subject anywhere. Does anyone know how (website, guide, person, video) to install both the remote dongle and the logitech dongle internally? I remember a long time ago a guide or two on how to do it but can't seem to find anything now. I'm guessing that there's a lag issue for the logitech and maybe there's better newer tech now that corrects that, if lag is a big issue I might just get something newer even if its not internal but the remote dongle to turn the xbox on is a must. Is the lag that bad on the logitech, enough to go back to wired? What do you guys recommend is the best wireless solution with current tech? I would still like to know how to do the mods, hope someone out there knows. Thanks in advance.
  7. Hi all - hoping somebody might have either a scan of the manual for the Competition Pro Wireless wheel accessory, or else knowledge of how the button programming function works on it so that you can get the pedals to work with the driving games that don't allow you to map correctly within the game itself (NFS Underground 2 can do this by changing the control scheme in-game for example, but Outrun 2006 doesn't have this ability)? Have been hunting high and low for ages and so far haven't turned up anything :( It's this one for reference: Thanks in advance! Alex
  8. Alright guys. The time has come. Here I'm gonna be adding an internal WiFi adapter to my OG Xbox because, lets face it, Wires are ugly, they get chewed by your dogs and people trip over them. and come on WiFi in an OG Xbox!! Heres a list of Tools and Materials you'll need Torx T20 Torx T10 Soldering Iron Solder Drill with assorted bits Wire Cutters Heatshrink or Electrical Tape Multi-Meter Dremel with cutting disc or small hand saw. Assorted files or sand paper Wireless bridge gaming adapter RP-SMA Female to Male Pigtail Rj45(Ethernet) Female to Male adapter some Motherboard standoffs with matching screws I got the idea from the youtube user "Thewheelman282" Link to video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zG8DQ3Omfk To start you'll need to pull apart your console. I'm not gonna explain how to because there are Many sources for this elsewhere. Next you need to figure out where you want to mount the adapter. again I'm doing what he did in the video and mounting it to the bottom of the DVD drive. If doing the same you'll need to pull apart your DVD drive too. Every drive is different, mine is a Samsung with 4 screws on the bottom. Once you have the bottom half of your drive, You'll want to Pull apart your adapter and mark out your mounting holes. Now use your drill to drill them out. Start small, you can always make the hole bigger if you need to. Time to add the MoBo standoffs, I used 6 of them and cut the screw part off the ones that go inside the drive. Now you can mount your adapter and put your drive back together. Now its time to start cutting wires. Get your multi-meter and determine what wires you need to splice into. Since my adapter uses 5v I used Pin 01(Ground) and Pin 08(5V) Heres the Pinout for the Drive side of the DVD plug Next your gonna need to figure out where you want your adapters Ethernet port to be. I used the same location as in the video for simplicity. Now your gonna want to get your RJ45(Ethernet) Male to Female converter/Extension and see if it will fit. (Mine did not so i had to trim it down) In the process of trimming it, I nicked a few wires so I had to pull it completely apart to trace each pin with a multi-meter and solder each wire back into place. (Dont make the same mistake I did and take your time!!) I was impatient and rushing. now you can Take your dremel and start cutting the hole for your RJ45 port, Once cut it should look something like this.(Again I was rushing, So its not as clean as Id like it to be) you'll want to test fit the plug, then clean up the cuts with a file or sand paper. Then mount your new port to the top of the existing one. I used a few drops of Super glue to accomplish this. \ Now you'll need to drill a hole for your RP-SMA Pigtail. (Antenna extension wire) I chose to put it beside the Ethernet ports. Ignore ignore the hole by the Ethernet port. Thats for my USB ports. I put a piece of heatshrink around the metal antenna connector so it doesnt cause any shorts or problems once its put back together \ Its a tight sqeez but everything fits inside nicely, just be patient while your putting things back where they go. Now you can put it all back together so you can Admire all your hard work and enjoy your now Wireless Xbox. Let me know what you guys think. This is my FIRST Tutorial/Write up. Tried to give clear info, If you need any additional info ill be glad to help out.
  9. I got a some Logitech wireless ones, but they are drifting. Was thinking of giving them away for p+p if anyone is interested. I dont have any pics of them until ater this week, but will post here then. Just checking if there is any interest in them.
  10. Does anyone know the jack size for the 6V 1A power adapter used for this thing? All the ebay sellers that have the power supply blur out the model number and overcharge.
  11. Hey guys, I'm already googling this question for a while to see if there are some answers out there. What I am curious about is if there is some way to run original controllers wirelessly on an OG Xbox or any other console. Now I know about Ryans mod having the possibility to run a lot of different wireless controllers and I already bought this mod as well. But I was curious if it's possible to mod the controller itself to either connect the controller to Ryans mod or to make a mod like they did on the dreamcast via Dreamonn. In these times we are trying to get all the consoles running through an HDMI cable and I think the next step is to get the original controllers running wirelessly like they do with the mods from 8bitdo. Maybe one of you guys were also thinking about a mod like this or maybe you guys have an idea Thanks in advance! Munky
  12. I just watched a cool video on how you can use a simple bluetooth USB dongle to use new PS3 and PS4 controllers with a PS2. This happens with OPL on a Free Mcboot PS2. I understand this works by the OPL app translating the bluetooth controller's messages and emulating a genuine PS2 controller for the system to understand. Could a similar thing work on a modded Xbox? I would love to use a Xbox One controller on my OG Xbox. I lowkey hate the S controllers I have. I know that Ryzee made a neat Arduino solution to use 360 controllers, but it's so expensive.

    Wireless Usb

Not sure if this is being posted in the right place. I just began my first modified xbox project. I made a controller port to USB adaptor. I tested that it works by attaching a usb controller (I modified an xbox controller to use on pc last month). I want to use the adaptor to be able to connect a wireless keyboard/mouse, but i cannot for a lot of information regarding this. Are there settings I need to modify somewhere, or is there not a lot of success with wireless? The keyboard/mouse combo is the Logitech Wave Combo. I flashed the Winbond TSOP with EvoX M8 from the HeXEn 2018 disc. If anyone can help and needs more information, please let me know.
  14. So yes, like the title says, I need to buy/get/being given the Wireless Logitech controller for Xbox. I am dealing with many issues in my Xbox because of the analogue buttons and it is driving me crazy, I have heard the wireless controller by Logitech for the Xbox doesn NOT have analogue (press sensitive) buttons! And that is all I need. Of course I would buy one in good working condition (makes no sense buying a piece of plastic that doesn't work). I simply CANNOT buy one in my country, there is nothing of the sort here, not even chinese knock offs. And I cannot seem to find sellers on Ebay who send abroad (I live in Chile). So if anyone can sell and is willing to send, I will be the most happy gamer ever If someone want to give me one for free, well even better No, is ok, I just want to pay a fair price, not too high hopefully. Thanks to all, you are a very nice community, I mean we are My best regards, Hector Hidalgo.
  15. Hi All It took a bit but it's working the way I wanted. All hidden inside the case. I wanted to be able to retain the Original controller or plug in a wireless adapter for the Xbox360 wirless controller. Using Ryzee119's adapter and some switching and making use of the light gun wire I got it working. At this stage it is just the 1st port with the other ports untouched. The only small issue is the 5 second delay before the 360 controller will work after that the there doesn't appear to be any lag between the 2. The video clip should give you the idea of what I wanted. https://youtu.be/rVq23B0gLdU Cheers SS Dave
  16. Hi there, back in the day, I was using wireless controllers from Joytech. They were pretty neat! But currently, where can one find wireless controllers for our beloved OG Xbox? I can't find anything from Joytech (don't know if the brand still exists) or others.

  18. Is anyone interested in an partly working orange Madcatz controller. It is wireless, the rubber is in bad condition, the case is good though. One rumble motor need to be soldered, the triggers needs to be pushed hard to get them to max and it is dismantled. It comes with the receiver and all parts. I have no idea on price, so open for offers if anyone is interested. Shipping must be covered by buyer, and tbh it can be a bit expensive from here. Sent from my 16th using Tapatalk
  19. Does anyone have any tips for making the controller s wireless? My understanding is that the yellow wire isn't needed and the posts are just usb 1.1. I can fit a 5v battery in the controller and I can get a recharge circuit, so that's the battery covered. Would 2 of these be suitable to solder, one in the controller and the other inside the xbox? https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/202172642349?chn=ps&ul_ref=https%3A%2F%2Frover.ebay.com%2Frover%2F1%2F710-134428-41853-0%2F2%3Fmpre%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fwww.ebay.co.uk%252Fi%252F202172642349%253Fchn%253Dps%26itemid%3D202172642349%26targetid%3D520884085919%26device%3Dm%26adtype%3Dpla%26googleloc%3D1006816%26poi%3D%26campaignid%3D1594021339%26adgroupid%3D62960991511%26rlsatarget%3Dpla-520884085919%26abcId%3D1139126%26merchantid%3D118951391%26gclid%3DCjwKCAiAgrfhBRA3EiwAnfF4tlNEH_Khzzqr0_gSwgxwiTNZS9s4t5kY_-pYXpeb-v4Px1HkMcnrhhoCYvIQAvD_BwE%26srcrot%3D710-134428-41853-0%26rvr_id%3D1805951190053%26rvr_ts%3D17ace08c1680aaa276b2dfd6ffd10d47 Any help would be great
  20. I'm interested in converting the original wired "S" controller into a wireless controller using the guts of an off brand wireless controller like a Logitech. To anyone's knowledge has this been done before or at least something similar?
  21. I would like to purchase a Logitech wireless controller. It must be in working condition. I have receiver, so it is not a must, but I understand if someone wants to sell controller with receiver. Colour does not matter, but white is the least wanted one. Sent fra min NX551J via Tapatalk
