Everytime i try to get insignia on my xbox it says it can't connect to the server than i go the troubleshooting and it says that the DNS can't be resolved i am running the connection from a bridged connection on my pc could that be causing it?

Hello everyone, some may be familiar with the 720p patches thread on the Emuxtras website. I want to make a thread here as well so they won't be lost. Many patches have been made(by various contributors) with many (near) perfect conversions. Some games require a 128MB or even a CPU modded Xbox, like the ones made by N64 Freak. But many also run on the a standard 64MB Xbox. IPS patches are really small (just a few KB's) and only contain the modified hex values and on what position in the binary they should be modified. You will need an application that can apply IPS patches if you want to use them. You can use Lunar IPS https://fusoya.eludevisibility.org/lips/ but there are also others. Because the patches are only a few KB's this means it is also a good candidate to patch them directly on the Xbox in XBMC. This is also why I have named the patches after the game ID's and denoted the target Xbox (64MB, 128MB CPU) to facilitate this. There is a project called python-ips( https://pypi.org/project/python-ips/) which runs on python version 2.7 (supported on XBMC) which seems to apply the patches correctly and can create backups. I might look into creating a XBMC python script that incorporates python-ips. But unfortunately I probably won't have too much time to do it and since I am unfamiliar with the XBMC specific syntax it will take a while. However if someone wants to pick this up before me than that is fine. This also goes for other making additional patches. I thought it might be nice to have a thread so you everyone can show off their custom xbox's and list their mods for others to admire. I'll start with a few of mine: The white slim one had an LCD-MOD and LCD-CON to allow the lcd plus an led fader deluxe from sickmodz, custom made jewel with led ring and internal dvd dongle The red/black one was my first modded xbox, pretty basic tsop box The blue one was a media streamer with internal wifi dongle, internal wireless controller dongle an X3 and X3 lcd and rgb leds The other one is my xbox mini with internal wifi, laptop hard drive, pico psu and internal dvd dongle mod plus 128mb ram and 1ghz cpu motherboard from trusty The last one is my current X3 box with X3 lcd and pro switch, internally it has a 2tb drive Feel free to post yours

Hello everyone! For the last little while I've been working on reviving Xbox Live on the Original Xbox. I've made some good progress along the way including the signature check and even decrypting the time stamp. There was a forum post similar to this on AssemblerGames (Rip that forum) however I feel the need to start from the beginning. One of the screws that holds down the DVD drive is stripped and the screw won't tighten. Other than the obvious, let it alone or even worse glue it (as I want to get it out again), is there something like a helicoil to repair the case? Just curious if anyone has experimented with this. Not a crisis but I would like a more permanent but removable solution. I was thinking even some kind of epoxy that I could pour in that would harden and I could re-thread it with the screw. Thanks!
