About Me

  1. I'm doing a first install of a 2TB HDD and trying to squeeze as many games on it as possible, and hoped that if I could create multiple 256GB (or smaller) partitions it would cut down on cluster size and I'd fit a lot more on it. Is this possible or is the only option a bigger drive?
  2. Bought two of these years ago but never installed them. Motherboard died recently so I replaced it, softmodded, installed SSD. Trying to get TSOP working. Have a ghost case so I’d like to remove the DVD drive, caddy and HDD mount.
  3. I bought an OG xbox, softmodded it with Rocky5, upgraded the HDD to a 2TB Seagate Barricuda, have an 80 pin IDE adapter connected to it. I bought 10 games to start off with, to include Halo: CE (the original Halo) and Mechwarrior. I ripped all 10 games to my hard drive. I get horrible, unplayable lag when playing any game (Halo is the most noticeable). Any time I fire the weapon everything lags. I also notice that for every single game, the startup animations (The grey/white/black "Microsoft Game Studios" logo) also lags, so I don't think it's framerate dependent. Here's a link to the logo animation that I am talking about. The animation in this video is how it should look. It's smooth. On my screen (I can't upload a video, sorry), it stutters, lags, and is generally unsmooth. This animation isn't smooth at all, but just showing what I'm talking about for reference. Does this have something to do with HDMI? I am running the output to an hdmi adapter that plays on the monitor. I have tried multiple monitors and have the same problem. The only thing I haven't tried is the component to TV route, because I do not have a TV. I'm wondering if this was a waste of money. Games are unplayable from the HDD, which I thought was supposed to even speed things up. Any help would be appreciated, thank you. -R
  4. I had been selling refurbished Xbox's on eBay for a while, when PayPal restricted my account for seemingly no reason. While I waited for that to hopefully resolve itself, I decided to make a website where you can buy custom modded OG Xbox's as well as repairs. Let me know what you think! I haven't gotten around to changing how it looks or anything, as I'm not really an artsy person. Is there any mods that I should include? Are there any problems I should know about? I don't exactly think this will be a big deal, mostly something to keep myself occupied while I wait for my eBay store to come up again. Thank you! Consolemodshed.com
  5. Practically I have to acquire a certain game (Tenchu - Return from Darkness)... which could be (I'm not sure) the same as "Tenchu - Fatal Shadows" for PS2... but I'm not sure, so has anyone played this game to know if there's anything different than the PS2 version (like... new chars, new missions, new story, new gameplay etc...) ? Also, is there any game/series which is relevantly different between the Xbox and the 6th gen counterparts versions (PS2 and GC, if I'm not missing any other console like... the Gizmondo! lol, jk with this one)
  6. I have a few softmodded xbox consoles at this stage and I'm looking at buying hard drives to upgrade them. I'm wondering if SATA is slower than IDE even with the more expensive Startech SATA 2 IDE adapter? Is an SSD drive on a par with an IDE drive? Thanks
  7. I still have my original xbox I bought in 2003. I have now acquired 2 more. Back in the day I was always on xbox live, and never soft modded my system. Now I am getting into it for the first time. I am very glad there are people out there who still enjoy the original xbox. Thanks
