  1. Hey all. I have a recent acquisition of an OG Xbox with a Samsung DVD drive that is properly jammed. It's a Samsung Model SDG-605. The front white tab is completely loose. I've tried to pop the tray loose via the small white tab on the bottom of the DVD drive and cannot get this thing to budge. I reviewed the disassembly guide here: https://web.archive.org/web/20050406225941/http://llamma.com/xbox/Repairs/Samsung_DVD_Complete_Disassembly.htm Is there any way to get this tray out without getting it fully extended? Any ideas / suggestions?
  2. I bought this modded big boi in 2005,here is the problem,in original Fable The Lost Chapter if i try to load save state my game will just freeze which will force me to restart xbox, game runs fine without loading save states, saving is also okay. Same problem occured in Call of Duty:Finest Hour, loading next map will almost always led to freeze, after restarting xbox map loads fine. Worst problem was in Kotor 1,xbox would just refuse to continue gaming after cutscene in the the Star Forge. I have EvoX if that matters.
  3. I booted up my XBMC and noticed that it wasn't loading as fast. The menu takes forever to load and when I finally reach the menu it just shows a blue screen with loading. I can't login and I get a script error. Below is my log file. Please help me find a solution. I'm quite a noob and hope the fix is easy. Log file xbmc.log
  4. Im quite embarassed to have to admit this, but im finding some of this modding stuff quite difficult dispite being an electrical/electronic engineer and have worked as a technician a various roles for over 30 years.Maybe its my age?I have got myself in a jam, I wanted to remove xbmc emustation and go back to unleash (sorry) but i was struggling to get emustation to work.Ive ended up with the Fatal error msg. (XBMC Fatal Error:No suitable skin version foundWe require at least version 2.1000IP Address: 192.168.0.6Starting FTP server...)Further more prior to this, i have been struggling to make a ISO image of extras disc.everytime ive downloaded it from git hub 613mb, when i try to unzip it i get an error msg from winzip?also if i try to make an ISO image and open zip file with imgburn or similar the folder appears to be empty?what am i doing wrong?from the XBMC Fatal error screen, can i just drag and drop something to rescue this from pcp using FTP client.I want to weep!!!! Paul B aka Masterbateson p.s. Just found out there is a slight fly in my ointment, in as much as when i fished out my laptops DVD drive, i found out its only a ROM so untill i can sort something out I cant burn a disc.I was kinda hoping I could FTP the missing files to the HDD or boot from my Memory stick, i was hoping like when ive recovered a pc b4 using a recovery image on a usb drive.Guess Xbob doesnt play like that.suppose im going to have to find somewhere to burn a disc, annoying thing is Ive several old full size dvd re writers kicking about in the attic. Thanks again for help, will sort disc out 1st b4 i try anything else.cheersMrB
  5. For some reason when I turn on the Xbox I am greeted with the error code 05 (unlocked hard drive). But I thought an unlocked hard drive was usable with a mod chip installed? - Re-soldered the wires from the D0 point, BT point mod chip flashed red, BT is joined to the mod chip so it is always on. Despite all of this the Xbox boots up displaying the error code 05. and no sign of the chip working its magic. Thanks, Pez.
  6. Hi, I found a 1.6 Xbox with an Aladdin modchip in dual boot (EvoX purple logo in the top left corner when I long press the power button). It booted an old version of xbmc, so I decided to use OGXbox Installer 2021 1.5.4 PBL (the latest version) to do a format and install the latest dash. I went to Format and Setup, then Launched XBPartitioner1.3 (black screen for a while and returned to OGXbox Menu). Then rebooted, and selected "AiO setup a new large HDD", even if the hdd is the stock one, because I followed the readme After the format though, if I reboot the xbox without the dvd inserted it hangs on boot (green Xbox with purple EvoX Logo and "Microsoft" in the bottom center). I tried selecting various default dash but it doesn't work. I don't know how the hardmod works (I am used to softmodding), but I think that maybe it searches for the dash somewhere else (?). Can someone help me please?
  7. Hello, Just finished doing my first 128mb upgrade on a 1.0 xbox. Overall it wasn't too bad just had to take my time. Used xblast os to make sure all chips were good and let it run for a while and let everything heat up.. everything is good.. Next step was to flash regular bios back to the tsop replacing xblast bios. Got netflash going and loaded up a 1mb x5035... progress bar completed then the xbox rebooted... on reboot I accidentally bumped the power button shutting the xbox off... not sure if I screwd up the flash by bumping the power button or if there was an issue with the bios file I used... Now when powering up the xbox the power cycles a couple times then flashes red/ green with no video output.. I do have a couple Aladin chips around here somewhere I should be able to flash and use but I was just wondering if there is any way to save the on-board flash chip? I seem to recall reading about some modified m7 bios that may allow saving on-board flash but I'm assuming the modified bios would only work with certain bios on the tsop... Can anyone please confirm if I can save the tsop or am I stuck with a modchip on this box? Took my time installing the ram chips only to rush the bios flash... sooo stupid
  8. Hey guys! I Bought 3 xboxes. Softmodded them ALL to rocky5 emustation and Nulled the Harddrives. 1.I took 1 xbox to first upgrade to 500gb HDD and then I installed LOTS of Games and emulators. 2.I unlocked the 500gb HDD using Chimp 3.I used HDD Raw copy tool and made an uncompressed Raw file. 4.I took all 3 HDD's (all lockable WD BLUE) and cloned them using Raw Copy Tool. 5. Installed a cloned HDD into the First xbox and everything went fine. 6. I took Xbox 2 and Used Chimp to Lock HDD 2 7. I started Xbox 2, with 500gb Cloned HDD (on Master ofcourse), splash screen is slow and emustation won't load. What I tried: 1. Using different Sata adapters 2.Using different 40 and 80 wired cables 3.Getting the same partitions as the original HDD So... Im having Nulled Hdd's and im loading the EEPROM from the Motherboard of Each softmodded xbox. I was kind of surprised that this does not work, does anyone can help me (in the right direction)?
  9. Hi, been using this install for ages with no issues. Today after moving from one tv (on component) to another tv (on RGB, don't know if this is important) xbmc4gamers is asking me to calibrate the screen. I do this, it asks to restart, then when it starts up again it is asking for calibration again, then reset and so on, stuck in a loop. Is there a way to bypass this, or maybe a config file to change or delete that will let me back in again? I notice after calibration finishes and the restart dialogue comes up, there is a notification in the top left that says 'script failed'. Asking here as its likely an easy fix for those with the knowhow! Thanks again folks!
  10. I want to have coinops 8 massive just appear as a shortcut under Emulators in the main menu, but when I add the folder as a "source" in xbmc4gamers, it scans it and gets stuck on one .xbe called something like default_fpp.xbe and has to be rebooted. I can enter the directory via the file manager and boot coinops from default.xbe no problem, same for coinops ninja too - everything works great - but I just can't seem to get shortcuts working and it sucks having to use the file manager everytime I want to play an arcade game. Anyone know what the fix is for this? I even tried going to the .xbes and highlighting them and adding them directly to the favourites list but that didn't work either.
  11. Hi all, I've been googling and searching and not finding an answer to this. I fired up my Xbox today (first time in a while) and got a notification that a new version was available. I went into the settings, updated the URL downloader and then did the XBMC4Gamers update. After a bit, I got a message that "autoexec.py" or something like that failed. Now I'm stuck at a screen that says XBMC Fatal Error: No suitable skin version found (see screenshot) I am able to FTP into the xbox just fine. I did find some mention of a guisettings.xml file but I can't seem to find where it might be and where I can get a replacement for it (if that's even the problem) My default dash is/was xbmc4gamers, BTW. I would appreciate any help!
  12. It goes through intro and goes to profiles whereas it used to go emulator menu. I live in Missouri and can't find anyone to help. My email address is [email protected]. I'm willing to compensate anyone that can help. It belongs to a 6yr old as I got it for him last Christmas. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Ty
  13. Any idea why this would happen? I downloaded the game from a reliable source and all the other games work. I do have a 1.6 Xbox, not sure if that m
  14. Hi, I'm a new memeber and this is my first post. I've recently dug out my softmodded OG Xbox 1.6. I modded it maybe 10 years ago then didn't really do anything with it. I remember having it connected to a PC via IDE to carry out the mod, other than that not sure about versions etc. I connected it via component and get a screen that is heavily tinted green after the boot screen. I found some info that this may be due to a poor softmod? In order to try to repair this/update my softmod I have tried to run JCRock5's Extras disc, but it always gets stuck at the splash screen saying "Retail 5838 BIOS DETECTED". I have tried it from disc and iso, cold boot and launcher, always with the same result. I have also tried the Quick Updater and Upgrader which run but both come up with the error "Xbox softmodding tool not installed". A couple of other things I noticed: My G and F drives were not visible. I enabled these in the UnleashX menu which showed the F drive as 0mb but still no G drive. I ran the UnleashX format tool which gave me a 2gb F drive. I tried this for the G drive but it is still not visible. I have also managed to update UnleashX to the latest build via FTP. Any help would be much apreciated. Thanks.
  15. I successfully created and locked a 500GB IDE Seagate Hard drive using HDM V1.9. I transferred it to my xbox and it gets stuck at the xbox splash screen at start up for ages and then goes to Error 13 - any ideas? (It can take 2-3 minutes for the word "Microsoft" to appear under the xbox splash). Thanks
