Hi all I am a new member, so not sure if this posting is in the correct place, but any help and advice would be really appreciated. I bought a modded Xbox with XBMC/Coinops4 on it about 6-7 years ago and then stored it away without really trying it out. In all there are about 5,000 emulated arcade and console games present (plus a few Xbox titles). I recently decided to start looking at it properly, and so far it seems to be working fine (on a HD ready LCD) except for the following issues/queries. Although not a technical person I have spent the last 2-3 weeks scouring the internet for information/answers to the below, but have not been able resolve/clarify them. 1) None of the NES games work, even though all their ROMS are present a folder named "F:\Emulation\Coinop4\Romsconsoles". eg The ABADOX.NES Rom is located in "F:\Emulation\Coinop4\Romsconsoles\NES_Abadox.zip". But whenever I try and run this game I get message "Error Opening D:\Romsconsoles\NES\NES_Abadox.zip ... No such file or directory PRESS B" On reading this error message I appreciate that when selecting a NES game, the system appears to be looking in the wrong directory but I do not know how to fix it. 2) After many searches I found out how to enable the 480p/720p settings by changing PAL to NSTC (and using component cables). On the 720p setting, the XMBC dashboard writing looks far clearer than it did when running in the default PAL 576i setting, as do some XBOX games. However although all the emulated console/arcade games still OK, they do not appear to be any sharper/clearer than when using the original PAL setting or when I just use just the 480p setting or even when I simply use a RGB cable. Am I missing something or does 720p setting only apply to the dashboard and not the actual emulated arcade/console games? This question has really perplexed me ! 3) The Coinops instructions (as found on the internet) state that you can use the Left/Right thumb buttons to enable Semi-Automatic or Automatic fire respectively. However when playing a game like Metal Slug, pressing either of these thumb buttons does not have any effect. Further, when playing a console game I know that the Right thumb button is used to adjust screen size. Again, what am I misunderstanding from the Coinops instructions ? 4) When running Amiga games that require a 2nd disc, pressing the START button (as stated in the Coinops instrutions) does not do anything. Also a similar problem with X68000 games that show a screen requiring you to insert a floppy disc ..... not sure what to do (nothing in Coinops instructions). Hope that my above ramblings make some sense to someone more knowledgeable than myself ! Thanks JB
I have a few soft modded xboxs and have mostly been using my 1.6 as of late. It looked perfect in all resolutions on all games that worked. But when I switched to one of my older xboxs, I think 1.2, it had major vertical lines when the xbox boots up in 480i and while playing games at those resolutions. Is it the xbox or is it software related? Is there a fix? all capacitors look good.
Hi, I am unable to display in 720p thru component cable. Using modern 4K TV with component port 480p / 720p are enabled in MSdash, Unleash X and XBMC4Gamers (booting 4gamers by default) The cable is OEM xbox 360 repurposed to fit OGxbox. (mode 2 and 3 enabled) I have an open xenium with LCD that displays the current resolution. I tried to boot from different bios Ind.5004 and X3.5035 seems to be locked to 480i Ind.5004 and X3.5035 (forced480p) gives me 480p but nothing else. While I understand that not all games are compatible with progressive scan, the dashboard and apps should run at 720p or am I missing something? Thanks
I'm trying to set my system start up in 720p. If I go to the MS dashboard from UnleashX menu, change the settings, do a soft reboot UnleashX will come back up in the display settings I've set. If I power off the system and power back on these settings don't save. The only settings that do stick are what I set in the UnleashX dashboard settings. The MS Dashboard reverts back. Any suggestions? Not sure if relevant but: -Using a Pound Technologies HDMI cable -Softmodded xbox using rocky5 migration to sata and upgraded ide cables -Just removed my clock capacitor.
Ok, so this eBay seller (who doesn't want to share his secrets oddly enough), says that his xbox's are the only ones available with 720p or 1080p. I know there's a way...I can't find it because I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for or more importantly how to search it. here are the links: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Modded-Original-XBOX-Highest-Quality-Build-25K-Games-1TB-Loaded-/162667846744?hash=item25dfc25c58:g:PzkAAOSw881ZtMKA http://www.ebay.com/itm/Modded-Original-XBOX-HDMI-1080p-Upscaled-Highest-Quality-Build-25K-Games-1TB/162649509954?_trkparms=aid%3D555019%26algo%3DPL.BANDIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D41376%26meid%3Dea9a9176c657443c9bdc4ce67dc63bab%26pid%3D100506%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26&_trksid=p2045573.c100506.m3226 Thanks in advance for your help! I'll keep this short and simple. My stepdaughter has a Modded Xbox that I did not mod. The picture is nice and clear and the ones I am modding don't look half as good. We are both running unleash X and using the same cables. What could be the cause of hers looking so much cleaner than mine
