About Me

  1. I've recently bought a used Xbox, only to find it doesn't turn on. Plugging it in with a known good power cable, neither the power nor the DVD drive button have the console showing so much as a single sign of life. No noise, no lights, nothing. As I was planning to mod it (and replace the capacitors) anyway, I opened it up to try and diagnose the problem. So far, however, I've come up short a definite culprit. Initially I suspected the clock capacitor, but it seems to be fine to my (amateur) eye. There are some other capacitors that look problematic, but I don't quite see why they should prevent the console powering on. There's also some goop I cannot identify on the power supply. Some people I showed it to said it could be epoxy or some other insulating material that got spilled. I've come here to ask for opinions from people who are experienced with the console. Is replacing the bad capacitors and clock capacitor likely to bring this thing back? Is the goop a problem in any way? Is my console beyond saving? I've added some pictures of the guts below to hopefully help anyone who's helpful enough to put up with my questions. Overview: Closer view of the main board (mostly to show this really is a 1.6): Clock capacitor: Unidentified goop: Bulging capacitors: To close, I'd like to ask you to be patient with me. This is my first hardware project, so I'm gonna do this wrong in all sorts of ways, no doubt. I'm also happy to provide more info as requested (and as I am able to gather it).
  2. Good morning, in a now closed post I saw a very interesting card created as a variant of Ryzee119's aladdinlcd. Does anyone happen to have the gerber file so I can print it? thank you very much to anyone who can help me
  3. Hi am new here and to xbox modding. I would like to request respectfully that people doing modding tutorials especially youtube please think of us noobs by 1 think of person tutorial geared towards and if possible do different or modded stages tutorials ie: noob, novice, experianced 2 proper instruction from beginning to end no off in another tangent causeing confusion especially to noobs 3 clear and precise information, eg: this xbox has a chip name of but no hard drive, new hard drive etc 4 proper working links if links are being provided. Thanking all you valuable people in advance
  4. Hello all if anyone has a fully working XBMC ORIGINS setup can they please upload the 720p folder so I can FTP it to my XBox. (please find attached my XBMC.zip) https://bit.ly/3Iu6z9j I have a nice working dash, but I had to use the Confluence to set everything up and then just switch Appearance to Origins. I can’t edit Features: 24. CONFIGURE after mimicking countless Tutorials! File Manager just lets me view and execute files not edit/copy/move them. and my settings panel just has icons that when clicked the screen goes black SO from Origins skin I can’t change the appearance, I have to use file manager to delete Origins (use Confluence) and then FTP Origins back to Skins,,,and use (Confluence) to set Origins as my appearance XBMC4XBOX 3.5.3-r33027 (compiled: feb 27 2016)
  5. Based on this thread there was a request for the pcsx v21 redux/reloaded that i linked to a while ago, i wasnt the op so i didnt upload it to that thread... @KaosEngineer @Frank D'Agostino @dizM0nkey Attached is the version i got from TIZ (i think it's gone un-altered) just an interesting set all pre-config to run well on xbox. no .bin (rom) files are included here, just the .cue, seems to be a set focused on 2d games. you need to rename your rom to match cue. psx4xbox.7z
