  1. XBOX 1.2 TSOP flashed with Cerbios that will power up and run for about 2 minutes and then just powers itself off Hit power button again and it powers on right away. This time it stays on for less time...and each iteration of this powers it on for less time than previously until its only on for 15 seconds or so After I let it sit for a half day, it'll run again for a couple minutes and then exhibit the same behavior. This occurs regardless if the DVD is connected during power on sequence (have DVD check bypassed in Cerbios). This sounds like a classic Cap issue...or could it be a power supply issue? To rule out one or the other, what is the easiest way to determine what is giving/causing the power off signal? Thanks!
  2. As the title states I have a 1.6 xbox that after lcp rebuild and mod chip install it reads hexen and works for a few mins then frags...I have capacitor and transistor replacements on the way ..but really curious as to what could be causing it photos will follow. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/xgfbhusv4f6h2ff/AAAotnIs2jHOwIA_JFidW-Iba?dl=0
  3. Hi guys, Bought a v1.3 from gumtree just to get into soldering TBH. I replaced the three capacitors near the CPU and removed the clock one too. The box looks like it doesn't have any mods done, and i don't see any corrosion. It does look like it works, as i can eject the disc and it seems to run, but i get no display or audio. I have tried another cable, but with the same result. Any pointers to what i should check? I have ordered a mod chip just in case the bios is bricked, but otherwise i am not sure what to check.
  4. Hi All, I've seen others post similar things and get some great support and feedback so I'm hoping for the best and that you might be able to help me also? I picked an Xbox up on Facebook Marketplace for £10 untested, plugged it in and it booted to an error - the DVD didn't make any sound. Switched out the DVD Drive and it booted to the dashboard first time. Today I went to fit a mod chip - OpenXenium and now it won't boot at all. I'm quite an experienced solderer so I 'hope' I haven't damaged/done it wrong, but I'm at a loss what's going on. The clock capacitor had clearly been leaking, I desoldered and removed this and attempted to clean up with IPA. I'll post pictures of my board below and see what you all think. Thanks, David here's the album https://www.flickr.com/photos/151031101@N07/albums/72157720121443403
  5. have some weird Power issues, researched previous posts but didn't want to hijack their threads and not sure if they were the same situation anyway. Here's the current situation: Bought console off ebay with acknowledgement that power button did not work and that it powered on by simply plugging in or hitting the eject button...(sounds like classic trace rot). Clock cap was removed by seller and area cleaned, he also replaced thermal paste on CPU/GPU and verified that the console worked and played games. I have not verified trace damage extent yet but he said there was a little. The console appears to have other things going on other than trace rot and I wanted to see if there was something else I could test on the top of the mb based on the below current working status before I get to trace rot stuff. When I got it, after a couple of power cycles where it remained powered on plugging it in, it now no longer powers on simply by plugging in, instead it only does by hitting eject button, and when that occurs it only stays powered on for about a second. Stby voltage checks good at 3.3V and POWON just gets to 3.3V before it powers off. POWOK doesn't fully spool up. When DVD removed and only HD power still attached (or even if HD removed), it powers on via eject button for 6 seconds and provides the following readings: Eject button triggers POWON voltage at 3.3V for 6 seconds. POWOK registers at 3.3V as well until it cuts off. Even if button remains held down, voltage drops off on both at 6 seconds and it powers down All other voltages read correct during the 6 sec power on except the yellow which comes in at 11.8vdc Eject button LED comes on and flashes red. If DVD plugged in, when eject button pressed DVD is ejected and retracts before powering down No obvious Cap leakages/bulges discovered. Any ideas? Thank you!
  6. I have an xbox 1.4 I just TSOPed. For some reason the press the power button and nothing happens but if I press the eject button it turns On and Off. If I press it 5x it will stay On. I swapped power/eject boards but same issues. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
  7. I have a board that won’t power, had 3 caps gone below the cpu which I have changed for new and a slight trace corroded which I have jumped and still no power at all. the PSU is good I’ve tried another and swapped power/eject buttons, so where do I look next? https://imgshare.io/image/NXxtmZ https://imgshare.io/image/NXxonc
  8. Attempting to show my grandson my daughters Bad*** Xecuter 3 Mod Original Xbox. I attempted to power on several times and different ways ( tapping quickly holding down power button and using the disk button) the unit would immediately shut down. The Xbox played fine a year ago. It was unplugged sitting on a shelf. So I opened her up and found some swollen capacitors and replaced them. While in there I also re applied paste to GPU and CPU. I tried again to power her up and same result. I'm lost at this point if any of you guys have an idea. Thanks from East Texas
