  1. I've two 1.0 motherboard sets (ie. motherboards, controller daughterboards and power supplies) for sale. Both have clock caps removed. Both working - no issues. One of them has some clock cap damage (namely C7G6 missing). That cap (C7G6) is part of clock circuit so as long as you don't plan on bringing back the clock cap it's not used and not needed. Price for the lot: 50 Euro plus shipping (I'm in Ireland). Shipping to UK should be around 5-10 Euro max. Other EU countries - please ask.
  2. Hey guys, So I have a project where I was able to come in possession of what im assuming to be a original Xbox test kit motherboard. The reason I say this is because it is an xbox motherboard with an MCPX X2 as appose to the X3 and yet it only has 64mb of ram soldered to it. It also looks like one of the previous owners tried to run Hexen and flash a retail bios on it since the solder points have been connected. Since (I'm assuming) it has a retail bios loaded on it it wont boot due to the lack of hidden boot sector in the X2. Ive finally fixed some OpenXeniums ive been working on so I have access to a couple modchips that can fit 1mb bioses in them. I am wondering, with the lack of 128mb of ram on the board, does anyone know if the development bioses will still boot to a screen showing something at least like the startup animation? I would like to see if the board is at least still functional with a proper bios and not completely nuked since it is currently in a state of FRAG that I hope is due to a retail BIOS being flashed on there. Thanks
  3. Hello. I am doing an expression of interest post here, have any of you done a polymod recap to a Original Xbox motherboard? I have a 1.0 and a 1.1 im looking to recap before I can put them up for sale (I do this with all my Xbox consoles once I receive them to ensure that they go for another 20+ years or however long) and noticed that the 1.0 and 1.1 units are 1500uf 6.3v for each four capacitors near the CPU and GPU, I have seen on AliExpress that they do indeed have 1500uf 6.3v polymer capacitors available. Would it be worthwhile to recap them with solid capacitors? the capacitors I am looking at are low ESR which is recommended for Xbox recapping, and if anyone here has done so please share your information and pictures of the motherboard after polymodding if possible
  4. Hello, I am writing this today to see about getting some help with my 1.6 Xbox and the Xeceuter 2.6 CE installed in it. I recently did this motherboard mod involving a resistor to extend the life of the board and the board works fine after the install. This is also where I managed to find an issue. With the mod chip enabled, both banks load up their respective bioses, but when I disable the mod chip using the front panel switch, the console Frags after 3 tries. When I disconnect the LFrame wire from the mod chip, the console boots up like normal to the stock dash using the stock bios. Before the mod though, disabling the mod chip using the front panel switch worked liked normal. So now I am a point where I made a modification to extend the life of the console, but lost some functionality in my mod chip at the same time. I am wondering if anybody knows what would cause the issue I described and if anybody else has ever run into similar issues. Though I know most don't tend to mod 1.6 consoles if the can avoid it. I'm also curious if anybody else happens to have an Xbox motherboard that is warped around the CPU and GPU area. By warped, I mean that I can see a curve in the motherboard around that area. Thanks, DobaMuffin
  5. I opened an xbox that I picked up at the weekend last night. There was a problem with the disk drive as it kept opening an closing and wouldn't read a disk when it was held closed while the disk was spinning. I suspected a faulty drive but when I opened it I found that it was absolutely filthy inside and that something had leaked - I have attached pics - I think it's a 1.6 so I don't know what is leaking or if it is repairable - any help greatly appreciated. Thanks
  6. og xbox 1.4ghz and ram upgrade anyone have one for sale let me know will pay high cash for one ok thanks

  8. Hi All How can I find out what model motherboard is in my box? Do I have to open it up or can this information be found in the OS somewhere? I have an older copy of EvoX Thx
  9. I have a v1 xbox that I softmodded with the unleash , ummmmm , dash or mod.....ok I'm a noob give me a break. I already successfully modded my own v1 xbox with unleash , i even upgraded the hard drive then to a 300gb one and ripped some of my dvd games onto it. so at this point I felt invincible. I then tried to mod my friends v1 xbox doing the exact same thing. Removed clock capacitor and cleaned installed unleash copied drive to a larger one started loading dvd games However I also tried downloading an emulator. I got it installed , sucessfully played an old diddy kong SNES game , but within the emulator there was a "reboot" option that I selected. The second It rebooted the console now is now in FRAG mode. there is no video output , it attempts to boot twice power cycling every second until the frag. It frags regardless of what drives are connected or unplugged. I ASUME the board has a problem with the firmware or bios and that it's my fault for trying the reboot feature in whatever emulator it was. (i should have just stuck with xbox games) So now i'm in a pickle , I asume the board will need some sort of bios flash or perhaps even a chip installed to fix the bios which is beyond my skill level. AND OR...... if i could unlock either of the two drives that console has I could save the game saves and music the console had on it..... and just buy a new xbox. Basically i need to solve the frag , or rescue the data. any ideas?
  10. I dont know if this has been put up on here before, but i came across this during my quest to fix a v1.2 xbox that wont boot. I have at some point managed to bork the hard drive during this quest Any how this webpage shows how to read an eeprom from an xbox using a Pi and a pin header normally used for mounting modchips in an xbox.. I have installed the program on my pi and got everything ready, just waiting for my header wires to arrive and then im goin to give it a go. My thinking is if i can read the xeeprom i can then use xboxhdm2.3usb to rebuild the hard drive and install a softmod. Then hopefully this bastard will boot again Heres the link .... http://icode4.coffee/?p=22
  11. See photo I’ve narrowed it down to 1.4 or 1.5...
  12. Looking for a cheap disc drive for my console. Not really picky about the type of drive since I upload most games over FTP anyway, but my current drive has a dead laser and it might be handy to have one that works.
  13. I have a 1.0 Xbox that has the dreaded "Christmas Lights" flashing on the eject button. It tries to boot twice before doing its signature Red and Green flashing. Nothing is displayed on the TV so no codes are provided. It also makes a terrible noise when it fails to boot up. After tearing it down completely, cleaning everything top to bottom, removing the clock capacitor (which did not leak thank god), opening and inspecting the DVD drive then hooking everything back up I'm about 99% sure the condition and noise is being caused by a faulty HDD. My question is, assuming my diagnosis is correct, if I bought a SATA HDD (with the proper cables and converter) and installed an Aladdin XT Plus2 Modchip inside would it bring this Xbox back to life? Again, the theory is that the original HDD took a shat so I'm not worried about the DVD drive or motherboard. If there are any other steps I should take (EXCEPT softmodding and replacing the whole console) please let me know. If you require any other information I can also provide it for you. Thank you for your time and help on the matter!
  14. looking to buy 1.0-1.1 xbox motherboard with 128mb 1.4ghz cpu upgrade will pay a good price and shipping..All i need is the motherboard with a TSOP mod on it
  15. Is it safe to say that if you open a factory sealed Xbox and find a fan on the GPU that it is a version 1.0?
