  1. Hello, Whenever I get interested in a new subject, I always do a deep dive to find all sorts of information on it, and the Xbox is no different. Well while searching for a datasheet of the Xbox mcpx chip, I stumbled upon a bunch of files. Some are seemingly random, while other have to do with Avalaunch development, or pictures and files of xbox hardware. I don't know if much of the files or pictures are particularly helpful, but I find them interesting if nothing else. Here is the website in question: http://www.crusaders.no/~joker/old_web/ Maybe someone can figure out what's relevant for this community and combine it all together. DobaMuffin
  2. hey guys! not sure if this is the right sub, but well... recently i was clearing out my basement and stumbled across an official XBox Promotional DVD (pics attached below). If I remember correctly, these DVDs were given out to people preordering the system in europe (although I'm not sure about this)... Anyway, the disc is packed with cool artsy dvd-menus, game-trailers, demos and other stuff like the official "life is short, play more"-commercial (you know which one), etc. I have no clue if this DVD is really rare, but I think it's worth asking and this is definitely the right place to ask. so, let me know if you know anything about this dvd. if it's rare and requested by the peeps here, i'm going to create an iso out of it. greetings and happy modding! bot
  3. I hace a 300gb IDE hard drive that I used in a sodtmodded Xbox back in the day - only realized this evening that it is locked and that I no longer have the Xbox I made it for - is there anyway to unlock it - I have softmodded xboxes lying around - would they help unlock it? Thanks
  4. HI Peeps, Got hold of another batch of Xboxs from my friend who runs an auction house. 11 for £100, not bad i dont think. Anyway a couple of these have X-bit modchips in, one was missing the little control board but the other one has it. Neither of the consoles boot to a dash, one has error 5 and the other has no power at all. I have removed the chips to try them in another confirmed working xbox i have here as if they work then i will re use them. I have never had any experience with these chips before and was wondering if anyone here has? More specificly does any one know where i can get the v1.0 of the Xbit flashing software, i managed to find the v1.5 version last night but it does not want to work to flash either of the chips, i can connect but upon clicking on format or anything nothing happens. Ive tried doing this on various versions of windows from 7 back to win 2k, all had the same results. I have spent all evening last night reading up on these chips as much as possible and there is quite a bit of conflicting info out there so any help/advice with this would be very much appreciated I am pretty sure the chips i have are not the v1.5 of the chip as there are no 1.5 markings as apparently there are supposed to be., so i want to try the v1.0 software to see if it makes any difference. It could just be that both chips are dead and im wasting my time, if thats the case then so be it but i cant be sure until ive tried everything. Thanks in advance
  5. It seems recently that the LCD screen mod has gained some renewed interest. The x3 (John7272 posted the pinout for connecting an x3 to the crystalfontz LCD) and xenium ones (with Ryzee119's spi2par2019 board) specifically. The xenium is all good, I already use/build and sell the Spi2Par2019 boards on my site (https://www.chimericsystems.com) but I wasnt willing to solder onto my x3 chip to add the LCD. The problems was that no one had any idea what connector the x3 used, so I set out to find it. Well, after months of ordering all the connectors that looked right (and being wrong lol) I have finally found it: The connector is a standard JST connector (SHDR-20V-S-B, which you can get from digikey for likw 20 cents https://www.digikey.com/products/en?keywords=shdr-20v-s-b) and the pre crimped wires you can get from digikey for 54 cents each (https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/jst-sales-america-inc/ASSHSSH28K305/455-3077-ND/6009453) I have 25 of them I will have for sale on my site (https://www.chimericsystems.com) in the next few days for $6 plus shipping.
  6. Hi all, when moving house I found my old pride and joy modded xbox. Big hdd, xecuter 3 chip and lcd screen. I fired it up and after blowing of the cobwebs it still looks great.
  7. Hi people! So i was walking pass a garbage dump waiting to be picked up by the trashmen that day, when this big bag caught my eye with some electronic gear in it. To my suprise it had loads of cables and controllers and this Xbox! That cool thing i wanted back then at the start of the millennium,.. but didn't had the money for it . Took it home, hooked it up and to my surprise it is working fine! (that attitude of people throwing working things away makes me quite angry ) I am in luck i guess. Looking up i found out it's best to mod it these days.. and found this: But it seems i can only get error 11 and not 12... i think thats why its not unlocking... as my computer can find it but Xplorer360 can't. I have Kernel 1.00.4034.01 and Dash 1.00.5960.01 ...so far my first steps into modding my xbox hope one of you know how to go further
  8. Picked up a $5 Xbox off of local buy and sell site in Ontario Canada. Got the Xbox working notice it had a modchip got the modchip working it was a xenium chip.. when I was in the mod chip options I noticed that there was a bunch of skins five in total. I contacted a few of my friends who told me that these are very hard to come across some may even say rare. So now I upload to everyone in the forms here. Please download and enjoy these beautiful hard to find skins. And please share and pass these around. Use 7-Zip to unzip Thank u Frank
  9. Hey guys.... I just found my original Crystal modded xbox from years ago tucked away in a corner in the loft. Only thing is it has faulty Ethernet port. Is it easy to swap them out for a replacement? If so does anyone have a tut?? Otherwise i want to update the softmod that is in it..... I bought it already modded and it was supposed to be chipped but well i have opened it and there is deffo no modchip inside. Its also a 1.6 so no TSOP either so by process of elimination it has to be softmodded. My question is..... Am i safe to run Rocky5's softmod updater from the extras disc to update it? If so can i...(using a FATX formatted usb stick) copy the extracted extras disc to the E drive and run it from there as i cannot seem to get the DVD drive to read anything.... Oh yeah heres a quick vid of the old school XBMC dash it has on it
  10. Hi, I've owned a couple of OG Xbox's, one was a Friendtech Modded one with all the bell's and whistles, the other was a stock Xbox that I eventually soft modded. Unfortunately my Friendtech Xbox was stolen during a house burglary by some near do well nefarious SOB's, but they left my Soft Modded Xbox for some reason. Recently after watching some youtube videos explaining tsop flashing I decided to give it a go. I identified my XBOX as a V1.4 with a winbond tsop. I removed the battery capacitor as suggested but am still struggling bridging my R7D1 and R7D10, I thought I had it but the flashing failed. (The damn things are so tiny!). Anyways I'm going to have another go with the soldering iron, maybe try using a bit of wire to bridge the pads. Anyways, thanks for having me
  11. Not sure where to post this but wanted to let people know to check everywhere for lost items. I thought I looked everywhere for my og xbox component cables in my shed, video game extras totes, garage, ....but I wanted a coax cable and I knew I had one connected in my living room that wasn't being used. While grabbing the coaxial I noticed some component cables in the back and thought they were for a 360. I decided to take them off because I don't have a 360 anymore. To my surprise they were xbox component cables !!! I haven't had an OG xbox for over a year and a half!!!!!!! They're Original ones!! I think I giggled like a little school girl!!!!!!
