About Me

  1. I am new to modding consoles systems and figured since I have some experience with pc's I would try my hand at upgrading my old xbox console. I have a 1.6 version console that was already soft modded with UnleashX and want to upgrade the hdd to an sdd. I have the StarTech IDE to SATA adapter, 80pin wire, the 3.5 to 2.5 cradle and a 1TB T-Force Vulcan Z SSD. I just need the steps on how to do it and to confirm I can use the ssd I have. Just a side note I did not soft mod the console when I bought it used it was already on it.
  2. Hi everyone Just joined OGXbox after finding you all after watching a tutorial video by MrMario2011 who mentioned you. I decided to pop over and sign up. I've just recently found my XBox in the loft after a cleanout and decided to set it up again. Not done much Xbox stuff as I was manly a Playstation user. I've decided to upgrade my Xbox and bring it up to date as such. Hopefully i'll obtain a fair bit of help & knowledge from you all.
  3. Hi. I was having a clear out and found my old console that I modded around 20years ago. I thought, "You know what, it'd be fun to have another play with it". Just found OGXbox while searching around, so will probably be back for advice since I've forgotten almost everything I knew back then . I did find that I should remove the clock capacitor before powering on, so I'm going to do that first. Hope it's not leaked much. See you all later.
  4. Hi all, In all my years of modding consoles, it amazes me that I never hardmodded an OG Xbox. No longer. In preparation for OG Xbox HDMI solutions releasing soon, the time was ripe for me to buy an OG Xbox. I collect (and play) consoles of all major manufacturers. Nintendo set is complete, all with HDMI output (except SNES), Sony set is complete, Sega set almost (missing sega saturn)... but my Microsoft set is lacking. I've had a 360 for more than 10 yeras, but this mis my first OG xbox. I'm here looking for information, to learn about the community and be part of it. I bought an openxenium and am looking forward to installing and trying it out! Have a nice day!
  5. Initially all I wanted to do was repair my faulty disk drive, but down the rabbit hole of videos and forums and this is where I landed. Now I'm looking forward to replacing caps, tsop flashing, and all kinds of other modding goodness lol.
  6. Back into moding xbox again found an old one outdoors in a trash pile. Just checking to see whats new from 2015
  7. I recently pick my first Xbox. When I was younger I kind stopped playing games and the PS1 was the last system I owned till the 360 came out then I got back into gaming. I completely missed out on the Xbox and all the great games it has. I have picked up about 30 games so far. I’m excited to join here and looking to grow my collection of games.
  8. how is everyone? I just stumbled upon this forum, I was really hoping one still existed. i am very new to all this. i don't own an Xbox but i plan to soon. just really broke right now but i cant wait to get started and really getting involved here at OGXbox.
  9. I recently unpacked my v1.6 original Xbox and have had a blast modding it and checking out the homebrew apps!
  10. Just got an og xbox to complete my collection! Really excited to learn how to use it in its full potential
  11. I`ve recently dug my og xbox out of the attic, dusted it down and softmodded it with ease with rocky5. decided to upgrade the hard drive .... so dug out my old $ky HD box ripped the 500gb hdd out of it added a ide to sata hot swapped it....it formatted and LOCKED....:) now in the process of using xbmc emustation.. emulators and roms,,, so far so good
  12. I've used my OG Xbox since I was much younger but the last few years acquired a few more for cheap (no more than $10 each) and now have 4 machines including one crystal.
  13. Hey everyone, It's great to be here, I'm surprised to see such a active og Xbox community! This is awesome! I had modded a Halo edition Xbox years ago, never really used it, I had installed a 250GB IDE HDD and some clone modchip. I remember not much more than that. I recently moved my wife and I to our new house/home (after renting from my in-laws for a few years) and I love having a place I can really call my own. During the move I cleared/sold away some things I didn't think I'd need, to clear away the clutter. The Xbox was one of those things as well as it went with all my controllers and video hook ups. That was about a year ago. Today I miss it, d'oh! But on my way to get back into it. I'll post shortly about that. But hello everyone! I found the listing for when I sold my Halo one, https://www.letgo.com/en-us/i/original-xbox-halo-limited-edition-with-mod-chip_3567fed5-ea04-463f-8410-0001b6aafc16 I think I only ended up getting $50 or so in a local auction. I then saw it a week later at a flea market for $100, but the guy had opened it up and cracked the case in several places
  14. i'm a dutch x-box-o-holic.. Still struggling with a lot of stuf on my hard-modded xbox, and i became member of this forum because it has a LOT of interesting info and helpfull topics. thank's for accepting me, and i wish you all the best ! Greetings from the netherlands
  15. Hey everyone! The OG Xbox was my console back in the day, I installed a modchip and astounded friends with XBMC at the time haha! I've had a few "project" Xbox's in the years since, but can never be bothered to finish anything and make it look pretty. Recently I've been itching to pick up my project from a few years ago: a nice crystal 1.4 with a RAM upgrade, some fun lighting and built in HDMI. The hardware's done I'm just too lazy to sort out the lighting setup I want. So it's great to find this place! My people! I guess I'll see you on the boards
  16. just found this page and i will continue coming here its been a long time i didnt turn my OG xbox on but lately been modding it and found you guys thanks for the content you guys offer.
  17. Hey all! I purchased an OG Xbox ~8 years ago from a PlayNTrade before all of them in my area closed down. I used it a bit at first and built up a small library of games, but then life happened so it sat in boxes with some of my older consoles for a while. I've been getting back into older games/collecting recently so I figured I should set it up and finally mod it. I just completed a softmod using the Rocky5 tool (via Splinter Cell) which was a breeze. The only hold up was that I had to test several old flash drives before I found one that worked. Of course, it was the last one I tried. My main purpose for modding is to create backups of my games for when the disk drive eventually dies, and so that I can play them off the HDD directly. I'm looking to download DVD2Xbox, but I see a message saying I don't have permission to download it. Is there something particular I have to do? Are the files hosted on another site? Thanks, Patrick
  18. Hello to you all. My name is Daniele and I took an xbox first series. I bought it because it has a problem that I think can be solved. Which section of the forum should I go to to tell you what it has? thanks
  19. I need to download the DVD2Xbox, so here's a good topic.
  20. Hello there, I own an OG xbox since 2003. It seems to be a v1.1 according to the manufacturing date. It was stored well and after getting it out recently, it was all in good shape and running. It was modded back in the days and got a chip, I have never seen it and no Idea which one it is, and a 120 GB IDE HDD. So to keep my first XBOX alive I decided to buy another one cheap and mod it myself. As far as I can tell it is a v1.5. It became an Aladdin XT Plus2 last week and runs fine afterwards. Now I am trying to figure out, what the next steps might be, so I came back to the forums. Looking forward to do interesting discussions and get hints and help. Greetings, Alex
  21. Hello everyone, I'm new here, so of course have questions. I recently installed an aladdinxt to a 1.6 console with a 2tb sdd upgrade. My question is, is there a way to retrieve my saved data from my old 1.0 console? I know you can transfer a lot of things normally, but some stuff doesn't give you an option to copy. My 1.0 box is not modded. I also have some dlc from the old xbox live on there, that I'd like to retrieve, but have no idea how. thanks everyone for your feedback.
  22. Hi Everyone, I'm glad to be part of the community. I love the XBOX and the whole world that revolves around it.
  23. Just recently signed up to this website and it's so great to see that the ol tank Xbox is still being tinkered around with these days. I first started out console modding when the Playstation 1 modchips became a BIG thing, then started modchipping the Playstation 2's (countless hours of lost sleep and frustration lol) then moved onto the Microsoft Xbox hard modding scene.Since the breakthrough of Jtag and then RGH modding,i moved onto the Xbox 360 consoles (which i'm still modding to this very day) If i need any excuse to break out my soldering iron, then i'm as happy as kid in a sweet shop,so console modding for me has always been enjoyable and fun. Thanks to admin for allowing me to join this website.
  24. Just getting back into the Xbox scene. I joined to look into how to tsop. Usually I’ve always been a softmodder but with the Xbox’s getting older I don’t want my hard drive to give up the ghost.
