About Me

  1. So i have a 1.2-1.3 version Xbox that sometime 10-15 years ago i moded with a Chameleon solder-less chip. I used an Xecuter 2 bios and when it turns on it asks for a password. This was to keep my 7 college roommates from playing it all the time. Fast forward a decade later and I am cleaning it up and refreshing it, and i forgot the password. Any idea how to reset this? Plan is to clean the DVD drive (wont open), clean the case. 2TB Sata Drive, Startech SATA to IDE, OGX360 Internal (if anyone has one available) With that being the case, will I still run into this Xecuter Password assuming its a Bios on the Chip? I do have the original DVD I flashed the chip with. I have been reading a lot about Hexen, XBMC-emustation, and OGXbox Installer. Any insight on what route would be easiest?
  2. With help from some others, I was able to get this chip flashed a 1.6 compatible BIOS hotswapping it into a 1.0 xbox and that went well. I thought I completed the physical install of the chip into the Xbox and things went smoothly. I had an old X3 LPC rebuild board that was unused so I soldered in the pin header and used the rebuild board to rebuild the LPC. I then soldered the spot on the rebuild board marked D0 on the modchip to D0 on the rebuild board (soldered to the location on the motherboard). I go to power on the Xbox and it boots immediately if the modchip is placed on the pin header if connected to power but currently off. It boots immediately if modchip is already on the pin header and I plug in power. Both boot to MS Dash with no signs of the chip being powered on or functional. Xbox would work as stock without any issue, I"m assuming. If modchip is removed from pin header and plugged in. I have to hit power button as normal but Xbox boots up as normal. Any idea what could be causing the Xbox to auto-boot when the modchip is in place? I've run out of ideas and documentation/youtube videos/random forum posts that I've found are either gone from the internet, or a slightly different scenario rendering the info useless. I did NOT do anything with the LFrame trace.
  3. Hi everybody, first time here in SO long. I've had a modded Xbox since 2003 which I just turned back on after I heard out about the clock capacitor problem. Mine was ok (I was able to remove it and clean up alright) but having it back on I've found the hard drive to be quite loud and maybe not running so great. I wanted to replace the hard drive but I'm not sure if my old Chameleon modchip throws a wrench into the tutorials I've been looking at. If possible the method of hotswapping the DVD drive with the new HDD and cloning the original drive seems easiest. Any suggestions before I start fumbling through this are very much appreciated! And I have all the stats on my current setup if needed. Thanks so much for the help!!
