Hello everybody. I'm new to Xbox 360 series but i used to play Xbox original for a long time. I brought 360 old (white one) with RROD and tried to fix but couldn't. It has a 20Gb HDD. then i brought a 360S (second hand again ) for a very cheap but did not get the controller and Hard disk. this supposed to be 250GB hard disk how ever i swapped with 360 old 20GB hard disk and it works fine at the moment. when i purchase xbox 360 s i got a game DVD - Sniper ghost worrier"and its works fine. after that i got NSF under cover but it throws me an error saying wrong region . when i check the covers and disks Both DVDs are PAL and when i insert that NSF CD in to my PC , it detected as NTFS DVD, both are original Xbox DVDs. what is the issue here? is i can see orange line of serial number sticker on back of my Xbox and is there any other way i can check DBD and console in which region also how can i swap a new HDD Thank you Chirath

I have an xbox slim without a dvd drive. The 40 GB hard drive starts up without a problem. Unfortunately 320 gb disk, frozen logo. I have formatted the disk several times and unfortunately the same continues. If the dvd drive is plugged in, the xbox will boot without problem. Any suggestions?

Posting various questions about XBox here, because I had a really hard time browsing for the answers as the search results gave different answers not matching the matters : 1) Is it ok if I play it for more than 2 hours a day or is there any risk any damage ? I know the temp must be kept between certain values, but I wonder what's your daily usage and the condition of your xboxes just to know if I'm abusing of it or not. 2) can an XBOX360 run classic isos ? Should they be used in ISO-packed formats or can the same Hard Disk be used to load them with a (modded, maybe) Xbox360 ? 3) is there an emulator for PC (Windows) which can run XBox ISO's ? I've tried several ones but some of them have a really limited compatibility list, some others are just not fitted for my system (probably I'll update my hardware soon, so maybe a better PC is needed) 4) is there an emulator for XBox which can run PS1 games just like ePSXe does ? I mean... hardware graphic emulation (Pete's plugins and similar ones), save state ability, cheats, etc... just like ePSXe (great ePSXe player in here XD )

Hi, Besides a very good cleaning, my controllers need new thumbsticks! But I can't seem to find them for the original Xbox S controller. Does anybody know if the 360 controller thumbsticks would fit?

I've been struggling recently with getting a dashboard on my recently flashed Xbox, and I'm not very sure where to go. I softmodded it with Rocky5 first, then I flashed it with iND-BiOS with no issues, but since it can't find any dashboard, it just goes black after the startup animation. I tried using two different burned copies of Hexen 2018; one either isn't recognized or flashes red-orange-green, and the other isn't recognized at all. Both discs were burned at 4x with PowerISO on Verbatim DVD-Rs, and the drive was able to boot a burned copy of Outrun 2006 and can play retail games, albeit with some difficulty. I was planning on installing a 1TB SATA HDD, and the only option I can think of is putting a dash on it via XboxHDMUSB and then putting it in, but I can't find any guides for this specific method and I don't have enough experience to really know what I'm doing when it comes to building HDDs. What can I do in this situation?

Ok... first of all, I m sorry if this is a repeat, however I couldn't find a thread to help. Or at least it wasn't labelled under what I thought it might be. I have a TSOP xbox with IND-BIOS. It currently has XBMC installed. However, this XBMC doesnt run all the games that I am FTPing over to the console. Most games run fine, however there is an issue with some games. XIII doesnt run, DOA2 boots then hangs after the initial disclaimer. I am looking to install another dashboard type to load up these games and hopefully boot into them, but I havent been able to do so or find anything online. Does anyone know any 'how to for dummies' guides, or can help install another dashboard/application to allow me to boot the games that won't load? And which dashboard or applications would be best? Hello people of OGxbox.com It is my pleasure to make your acquaintance. I recently picked up this crystal XCM with display, Executer bios chip modded xbox from an electronics receclying center. When I saw it, it caught my eye and it was in being sold as "As-is for parts or repair" because they couldnt figure out how to boot it up. I thought it would be a fun project to get it working again. When i picked it up I had no idea it had a mod chip and I was perplexed by the buttons on the case (and still kind of am). But anyway I figured out how to flash the bios and now have it running XBMC. I found this forum by googling Xbox XCM case to try and find out more about it. So i did a little more research and found another post on this forum which I am unable to find again of people talking about price tags for these being around 500$ and one user was willing to pay "top dollar" for a red or a crystal one. I thought that was pretty cool that I had something that seems to be rare. I have a Halo special edition Xbox with an unsightly crack on the case on the top left section of the X. So that will have to be covered. What I'm thinking about doing is making a plaster mold using the lid. Then I will order some plexiglass and hopefully attempt to drape mold it in my oven using the plaster mold. After that I will do some cutting with a dremel and replace the X on the green lid with the newly created X. Do you think this will work? Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? What color combination do you think might go well? That yellowish green background color of the halo case seems kind of tough to work with. The second thing is that the silver halo logo on the front is worn is some places. I would like to touch it up. Does anyone know the exact color of silver this might be? So here is the deal, I have an OG Xbox for the first time in my life. Games play amazingly well, but I don't know if it's because of the fact that most games use AA, but they tend to look a bit blurry. I am using the Xbox with component cables on a Sony Wega CRT 29inch, it is a really awesome TV. But like I said the Xbox looks a bit blurry, the Wii/Gamecube through component looks cleaner in comparison. The PS2 also looks clean on my TV using component, but the PS2 image quality is crap anyways so it doesn't even matter. In essence what I am asking is: Is there an APP or an option within a Dashboard that can make the Xbox games look sharper looking? Hi Could someone write step by step how to install convert xbox retail to debug? MVG video is too chaotic for me.

I picked up a dead xbox, $20, I want to see if it can be fixed. (I believe its 1.6 board, xcalibur chip and MFD 2005 ) Pressing the power button spins the rear fan but stops spinning when I stop pressing the button. No other signs of life. No signs of being opened before. The power board powers up my other good v1.6 xbox fine, so a bad power board can be ruled out. Plugging my other good power board into the dead xbox has the same fan spin only result. I transferred the DVD to my good xbox and that works ok. I notice 4 of 5 caps bellow the CPU are blown - I've got 5 new 3300uf 10v caps coming in the post to replace them ($6 ebay), I looked on Digikey but $24 just for postage The closest Jaycar stock is 4700uf 16v. I noticed the 1.0f 2.5v gold cap in there too, do the 1.6v suffer the same leaky problems as earlier xbox version timer caps? needs changing? I don't expect to diagnose anything further until the 5 3300uf caps are replaced, but wondering if in the mean time there is anything else to check? or perform after caps replaced.

My XBOX turns on and works but the green light around the eject button does not come on. The system is a 1.0 version and has been successfully Tsoped. A red light comes on around the eject button when booting with the Helen 2017 disk, but I don’t ever get a green light under normal operation. Any idea what would cause this or how I can fix it? This showed up on my local Craigslist and I picked it up. It's one of those 2TB jobbers. I've never had an Xbox so I've learned quite a bit in the past 10 days. I still haven't figured out if it is a 1.0 or a 1.1. No fan on the heatsink, but unleashedX is telling me it is 1.0. I'm not sure it matters to figure that out. The question is - does this pic show evidence of TSOP? I haven't pulled the mobo out to see of there is something similar at R7R3. Also, my C drive has a folder called bios and it sure looks like it has bios images in it. As far as I can tell so far, those are useless with a softmod? Is there another way to tell the difference between a softmod and TSOP? (Which I believe means there was a softmod that was in place before the TSOP?) There is no modchip. That's about all I know for absolute certain. Thank you!

Hello, I am stuck in a pickle and hope someone can help. I just TSOP flashed in my Xbox and it is now stuck in a boot loop. The Xbox logo appears along with the Microsoft logo and then the system resets to do it again. I first installed the rocky 5 softmod, used the bios checker disc to make sure it was ready to flash (it displayed "TSOP?") and then used the TSOP flash mode of the extras disc to flash the system. everything went like normal and then after the BIOS was flashed and the system rebooted it just kept rebooting itself. It is at the 3:56 mark in the attached video . I'm new at this and out of my element here, please help.

recently got a debug kit I have been trying to look for ways on how to FTP 2 debug kit. The only media this would read that will allow you to FTP is the dashboard Avalanche. These were made on the Old Source codes that's why it can read it. But you really want the Alpha version it's a special version (Alpha v0.49.1) This is the only Dash or program this debug kit will play. Once it boots up go into file manager using the CD to get there. Copy files from DVD drive into the E partition you can make a folder call it apps and place individually everything on the contents of the CD you made... once that is done you can reboot the system open Avalanche go into FTP settings. You want to change your IP address to whatever you have on flashfxp or Windows .. once you are linked you can pull off any programs that you want to make a copy for yourself. Another thing you can do is download an app called retail game loader V 1.20. This app will allow you to play retail games as well as emulators or anything the original Modded Xbox can play. How you use it is once you FTP to hard drive and is complete reset the system then under xdk launcher click on the newly installed app retail disc loader V 1.20... once that is launched it will look like the exact same Dash except now you can load anything you want. I was giving a lot of help from a lot of different sources in order to make this post to this form. Hey guys, I have a v1.1 xbox that I softmodded a couple years ago. It's running the Unleash X dashboard, and I was able to play xbox and emulator games through the regular composite connection. I just purchased a Kaico HDMI adapter, in hopes of getting a boost in quality. I hooked up the adapter, and the xbox boots up okay. I checked the signal, and it's showing 720p from the main menu. This is good. Problem is, any time I try booting a game, whether it be a game from disc, or any game off the hard drive, the xbox loses its signal, and I can't get the image to come back on, without restarting the xbox. Any ideas what would be causing this?
