About Me

  1. My LE Green Xbox which is very little used and has been kept in practically retail state (never opened) completely out of the blue decided to start itself the moment I turn on the main's power. Its been connected to the same power block as my most used Xboxes for years so when either are on it will have been getting some power to the clock cap but TBH I can't remember when it was last actually used; it has to be at least a month ago. Then this. It won't turn off using the Xbox power button but will turn off using the UnleashX menu option > Shutdown but then immediately powers up again. Its working perfectly otherwise. Clearly something has happened, probably partly due to the hot weather but what? My theory is that I made a big mistake keeping it plugged in so that when the other Xboxes were being used its clock cap was indeed being charged. Despite it not being used regularly that has led to its premature ageing and leaking, doing some sort of damage. I suspect I'll only know if that is correct by cracking open the case which I specifically did not and still do not want to do. So if the cause could be something else which doesn't required me to take its virginity advice would be appreciated.

  3. I think this belongs here? Since I'm just trying to install XBMC4Gamers. But like the title says, Xbox Softmodding Tool Extras Disc will not boot when I try to boot it from the "Applications" section. I've followed the instructions on how to set up the files correctly, but when I click on XSTED, the screen goes black for a few seconds then it goes right back to the UnleashX dashboard. I thought maybe it's mounting it to the disk drive virtually? But even my disk drive won't boot a disk when there's a disk in it using the "Run CD in drive" button, no matter what's in the drive. I'm kinda at a loss, so I'm coming here for some help. Attached is how I have it setup on the drive. 1.4 that's been TSOP'd, if it matters
  4. Ok so first off let me say this - I am the dumbest person in the world ...so hopefully I covered that upfront I bought a modded XBOX off eBay YEARS ago...I just finally got it out of storage and hooked it up It has Xenium on it - I don't remember if this is a hardware mod - but it might be Anyway - there are (or were) two dashboards to choose from One is MS DASHBOARD A - which doesn't really have anything And then there was the X Dashboard (I cannot remember the correct name) - that is wher everything was - to play a game from HDD or Disk, or from the laoded Emulators - everything...it basically was everything on the XBOX and the way I play games The XBOX came with a lot of games loaded on it, and I was trying to remove some of the games that were on it that I didn't want So under the two choses for Dashboard to go into is ADD a NEW Item and REMOVE an ITEM I was trying to remove games so I selected "REMOVE AN ITEM" and then selected the Xenium Dashboard - thinking that I would go INTO that area to remove the game... But I removed THE WHOLE DASHBOARD And I cannot figure out how to get it back.. I tried going into ADD a NEW ITEM but I cannot find it - its all files on various Hard drive partitions ... Can anyone please tell me how to fix this? I feel like I just totally ruined and deleted my entire Xbox...and I am freaking out Please please help me...I don't know what to do... I'll be happy to chat or text with someone or email - if you think you can help me Thanks in advance Humbly... Jaek [email protected]
  5. Hi guys, I finally got another CRT setup and I'm about to softmod my regular xbox console and get some case mods and other goodies for it including RAM upgrades! To fund this, I want to sell an xbox debug unit I have. It comes with the debug specific AV cable with Svideo and Composite. It sounds loud, but the tray opens and closes and it boots up just fine. Please PM if interested!
  6. My Xbox is not modded and kind of wanted to keep it that way, I wanted to replace my hard drive, is it as easy as just putting a new drive in my xbox? because i heard about having to unlock and lock with eeprom key, is there a way i can do it without modding or unlocking and locking a hard drive? thankyou for your time everyone!

  8. I have an OG Xbox that no longer works, I've tried a different power supply and replaced some capacitors that were bad no luck, my friend gave me a working Xbox same model. Is it possible to swap the drive from my dead one to the "new" one and retain all the data? Also if I can't do that would it be possible to transfer the save data and games to the new system?
  9. Selling these 128mb ram upgraded boards, 90 shipped in the us message me for pics and more info
  10. Is this possible? Preliminary searches on google show me a few things but I can't be sure so rather than searching high and low I though i'd ask you lot This is something I found btw, i've not even downloaded it yet so don't know if it contains a virus ( link to site, Sites clean ) https://www.h4ck.se/how-to-overclock-your-original-xbox-in-2019/
  11. What are your thoughts on port forwarding and what does it do? Is there anything you always struggle with when it comes to port forwarding and are looking for help? I am looking at these but not getting satisfied. zendesk purevpn
  12. Week or so back I was doing some testing with various dashupdate.xbe files extracted from some early Xbox LIVE enabled games (Xbox LIVE enabled games were always shipped with a dashboard updater) and ended up finding quite a few different dashboard/online dashboard revisions that I haven't seen listed anywhere, which got me curious about how many dashboard revisions were actually pushed out (on disc, can't exactly know which were pushed over Xbox LIVE anymore) I was looking for a list of Xbox LIVE enabled games and was surprised that couldn't find one anywhere. There are plenty of lists for Xbox games but none seemed to note whether a game supported any Xbox LIVE functionality or not, so before I could look more into the dashboard updaters I had to make a list of games that actually contain them While it's not exactly the most useful list to have anymore, I still think it's something worth archiving and I'm posting this thread to see if others would be interested in helping Personal spreadsheet (my personal working doc, read-only to public) Public spreadsheet (public doc, anyone is free to add to it or edit it) References I've used building this list: Xbox.com (archived, for game XBL feature list) Wikipedia (for initial release dates) mobygames.com (for release dates and back covers with feature list) xboxaddict.com (for release dates and back covers with feature list) gamespy.com (for release dates, sometimes features list) gamescanner.org (archived, back covers with feature list) xbmcxbox blog (grabbed list of games that all contain an uninteresting dashboard revision) ebay.com (back covers with feature list, more useful than you might think) Whether people help or not is up to them but I'll continue to flush out the list. If you want to post the name of a game in this thread that you know has some kind of Xbox LIVE functionality and isn't already on this list then that's fine too
  13. I recently acquired and old Xbox 1.1 with a a hard drive and disk drive both dead. It came with Aladdin XT2, so i switched the old hard drive to a new 80GB one and managed to install a new dashboard using an old computer disk drive i had laying around. Everything seemed to work fine and the console booted with Unleash X, but almost all games i tried installing on it's hard drive won't work. Dashboard tries to launch them, but the console simply resets to it's main dashboard. Not all games failed thought, 4x4 Evolution 2 and AMF Extreme Bowling started and worked fine without problems, but this is more of an exception than rule. It's weird, cause all emulators worked, and i was able to play Quake 1, 2 and 3 homebrew ports with no problems at all. Can someone please help me? Thank you!
  14. Searched a good bit on the general symptoms of power button failure for Xbox original but most lead back to trace corrosion issues. The case here is a very small person got access to my original xbox and spent an unknown amount of time mashing the power button. The next time I went to turn her on, the power button flashed for a brief second and hard drive spun as well but then died. A few more attempts and now nothing happens. The switch still clicks audibly for what thats worth but no sounds that power is getting to anything and no light. I've opened it up to start looking at possible source of damage but have not come up with anything. Looking for any suggestions or guidance on where and what to probe. Thanks.
  15. https://www.ebay.com/itm/265197533417 Hey everyone, please delete if not allowed but I'm selling a custom modded Xbox 360 controller. I don't know too much about it, let alone what it's actually worth, but I'm sharing in case anyone wants to check it out. It has a nice aesthetic to it but I'm not sure if there's rapid fire or anything like that built in. I figured with the OGX360 becoming more popular and viable for different controller options on the OG Xbox and certain controllers either being hard to find in general or simply hard to find in good condition, I figured someone here might be interested before the auction ends. Thank you!
  16. Hello, Got a v1.1 Xbox today that i wanted to TSOP flash, but it has some issues, before doing anything the console was tested. The hard drive is making some loud whirring sound, but it manages to boot to dash, this will be replaced with a bigger drive. The DVD ROM was locked solid, so after opening the console and the DVD ROM, and giving it a good clean, that is now working again. But when i tested the DVD to see if it ejects, which it does, every eject press the console now appears to soft reboot, i mean it restarts but doesn't power cycle. Anyways i soldered the points on the mobo, and continued to flash which was successful, but the problem still remains with the eject. The console hadn't been opened before today, as far as i remember it didn't reboot on eject when i 1st turned it on to test and was trying to eject the tray. Have tried an alternate power/eject board but no change, also the console boots with no DVD drive connected also with no change, so i am out of ideas. Has anyone experienced this, or know of a fix ? any help is appreciated.

  18. Can I ask the community for some help please: I’m trying to make a back-up of my WD Blue 1TB hard drive from my Xbox and can’t seem to get the duplicated drive to boot. My Xbox is modded with an Xecuter X3 chip and that is working fine; I have the X3 panel on the front which is lighting up blue and booting ok with my original drive – and it is booting to the X3 bios on my duplicate one. I’ve duplicated my original drive using HDD Raw Copy 1.10 (through two separate USB docking stations). Obviously I received read errors throughout the process; but it has reached 100% and finished. However, when I plugged in the back-up drive and booted up the Xbox, I got error code 16. When I switched banks and booted to the X3 bios it updated some settings; but when I boot to the bios bank that should be loading my XBMC Media Centre dashboard, I get error code 13. Basically my question is: am I missing something/doing something wrong? I wonder if I still need to “tell” the bios that this is a different drive somehow? Any advice gratefully received thanks.
  19. Hi there, Noob that just join this community for some solid advice/direction for my upgrade, I have a working 1.6A xbox with a Super Aladdin Live modchip running XBMC on a 80 Gb IDE HDD My aim is to upgrade the HDD to a 500 Gb Sata HDD (I know I could go bigger) and also upgrade to Rocky 5 instead.... I currently have: - The 80 wire/40 pin IDE cable (ATA 100/133) - IDE to Sata converter - 500Gb Sata HDD What are my options? Do I have to hot swap the HDD with the disk drive with a program running on the xbox ? Thanks in advance for any help or links for guides/programs to help me !!
  20. So I have 2 IDE HDD's that are dead now. my xbox is soft modded with hexen 1.0 I think? two instances that I cloned my original xbox with softmod unto a new hdd that is xbox compatible and locking features is available, at first it was running smoothly then after some time the HDD just dies and outputs an error 07 after rebooting checked the hdd and was not spinning is my xbox killing my HDD's?
  21. Hello there, I recently decided to give a second chance to my old Xbox, my parents bought it to me back in 2004 when I was 12 years old. it is a v1.0 and always has booted EvoX, even to this day, the problem is that I can't find any modchip or TSOP. Maybe it's my lack of expertise but I thought that EvoX only boot in a hardmoded machine, so where it is? And if there is no chip, how can it boot EvoX? I've already removed and cleaned the clock capacitor leak, no visible corrosion.
  22. Guys, Is the version number given by the Hexen disc genuine and can be trusted?
  23. I am quite familiar with using fatxplorer for xbox 360. But i cant seem to get the og xbox partitions to show up in fatxplorer.
  24. any thoughts on HeXEn 1.0? so I softmodded my xbox back in 2010? I dunno and used a hexen Disc was it possible to do this? or was I just trippin.
  25. Long story short While modifying my Xbox, I accidentally shorted out the 5 volt rail. Now the thing doesn't turn on. I'm wondering what exactly I killed on the power supply. I checked the fuse near the 120Vinput and it appears to have continuity. I notice basically right next to the wires for 5v there appears to be a regulator or a mosfet. Perhaps it just needs a new mosfet? The short only occurred for less than a second. Personally I find it kindof rediculous how it killed it so quickly but nonetheless. Needs fixing now. Also on another note. I know this is a long shot, but could the power supply from an Xbox Revision 1.0 be rigged into a newer box. I see that the connector for the old Xbox is only 12 pin and the newer one is a 20 pin ATX. What crossed their minds to change over to the ATX power supply?
