  1. Hi guys. I am proud to release first version of my app for streaming movies and tv shows on Original Xbox. How this started, how this works and all informations you can find on attached file in this post or there Stream Movies & TV Shows. In attached file you also have in-detail tutorial how to setup everything. Currently you have basic funcionalities, but I have a plan throughout a year to implement much more but I don't make any promises. There are three main tasks that I have to do before anything else, and that would be: Implement support for Subtitles. By that I mean building addon/script for OpenSubtitles API After implementing subtitles, a HUGE code refactoring and organization need to be done because currently this is a MESS that somehow works, especially frontend of PC API And after code refactoring, I need to implement better algorithm for searching Movies and TV Shows For TV Shows most newer series don't have problem, but old series (ex. from 2010) are packed in one torrent file which represents one season, and my current algorithm only search querys im format "name s0xe0x" which for old series return no results or return episode which have only couple seeders For Movies search works good, but sometimes it gives wrong result. I will fix this in same way that Elementum addon for Kodi does. Find resulsts by name, name + year, tmdb id and imdb id, remove duplicates and sort by seeders. This seems easy but it's not. And after everything said above is done then I will slowly try do add new funcionalities to the fronted (i.e. all HTTP comands of XBMC4Xbox) GITHUB From here you can download and find newer releases IMAGES Indroduction_Setup_Guide.pdf
  2. Hello! After months of focusing primarily on the Nintendo Wii, the Electron Shepherd team has just released a new product that we are thrilled to share: the Xbox2HDMI module! This tiny, power-packed module takes in the Component video and digital audio output from the Original Xbox and outputs an HDMI signal with embedded Dolby Digital Surround Sound (if that audio setting is enabled in your Xbox’s settings). This module utilizes a fully custom PCB with a higher quality, next generation IC compared to what is typically used on the widely available Wii2HDMI and VGA2HDMI modules that are readily available online. If you are not happy with those modules, then you will absolutely be happy with these. This module efficiently supports the 480i, 720p, and 1080i resolutions that are default to the original Xbox. These units can be bought with ease on our store located here: https://electron-shepherd.com/xbox2hdmi/ Please let use know if you have any questions about this or any other product we currently offer! - Shane from Electron Shepherd LLC https://twitter.com/ElectronShep
  3. Please see link to 10 images of board here https://imgur.com/a/nJotOX1 The machine in question is a v1.0 with fresh electrolytic capacitors installed everywhere a few weeks ago aside from the power supply (Foxlink, with resoldered power leads). It also has an Aladdin mod chip which I was running Cerbios 2.2.0 beta on previously. After successfully upgrading the RAM on a v1.4 machine yesterday I decided to do my primary xbox today. RAM in question is the leaded F-QC50 variant. They appear entirely to be authentic Samsung chips. With XBlast OS flashed to the mod chip, I began with the RAM install. First chip, test, success. Second chip, test, fail. Quick rework and second passes. Then I decide to do the last two together and test afterwards. Test shows 1-3 pass, number 4 fails. This is the one below the CPU and next to the connector from the power supply. Rework number 4 with an iron, not hot air, still fails, rework it again, still fails. Go for a third try and now the Xbox will momentarily boot with solid green LEDs (hard disk spins up, fans spin normal speed, LED on mod chip illuminates) then quickly cuts power. Then will turn itself on again about a second later, usually with no LEDs on the eject button, fans spin normally, LED on mod chip lights, then power cuts out. There is no display. I also swapped in a known good power supply from a different v1.0 and no difference was made. This cycle appears to repeat indefinitely. Sometimes the LEDs on the eject button light up green, sometimes they flash green, other times there is no light at all. I have tried with no disc drive and no hard disk, with just one of those, and with both of them. I removed the fourth RAM chip in an attempt to rule out the chip itself, however the same result ensues. I then removed a factory RAM chip (M-QC50) from a known good console and installed that in the fourth slot, no change. I ended up removing that chip so only ones that passed the test in XBlast are installed. I know it is possible for the chip to be bad, yet still pass. I took the utmost care not to “splash solder” around while installing and/or removing the memory. I taped up the surrounding areas of the board and components with kapton tape before performing any work with hot air or an iron. High quality flux was used and cleaned up. I examined the board thoroughly multiple times and I cannot physically see an issue. Using hot air I carefully reflowed the factory RAM as well as the three that I added. My question mainly is where should I be looking for a solution to this issue? This is not the typical 3 reboots then FRAG problem. Is there a power related component I should be looking at? Any help is greatly appreciated.
  4. Hello guys. I'm happy to release new YouTube plugin for Original Xbox. Yes, it's now again possible to watch YouTube on this dated hardware. I'm using Invidious for fetching data from YouTube. Here is a video that shows this plugin in action. Some features of this plugin are: Trending Videos Popular Videos Searching Channel view Channel searching Subscribtions Import subscriptions from local YouTube account Suggested channels Suggested videos Limitations: Videos length - currently I don't understand how adaptive streams works and how to use them on Xbox. Because of that I'm using formated streams which means that whole video must be loaded in RAM memory. Because of that on Xboxes with 64MB RAM you can watch video of max 1 hour lenght and on 128MB RAM Xboxes videos of max 3 hours length. I hope I will fix this in the next release. Used of Gateway - OpenSSL 0.9.8 which is latest for our Xbox doesn't support newer versions of TLS encyption. Because there is no public Invidious instance that support older versions of TLS we must use simpe PC application that acts as a gateway between Xbox and Invidious. When I get time, I'll try to host my own Invidious instance that support older versions of TLS or even unencrypted HTTP. Keeping that in mind, when I host my own Invidious instance or someday someone host public instance that support older versions of TLS only one line in plugin code needs to be changed to remove dependence of PC Gateway. If you encouter any issues please open Issue at GitHub page. Video Preview Download Link Github Setup_Guide.pdf
  5. Hey folks! New member here! Bought a custom OG Xbox modded and loaded a while back and recently moved. Hooked it up and turned it on and got a #12 error with red ring. I’d love to to find someone reputable that I could send off for service. Thank you
  6. I tried softmodding my xbox using splinter cell and during the process I accidentally deleted the ms dashboard. now when I turn the system on it flashes red and green and it boots up to an error screen but with no error code. Please help!
  7. Hello everyone, just got myself another Xbox a couple weeks ago, 1.6 with a dead DVD Drive, $15 for console, cords, 2 S-Controllers (no breakaways ) and 2 games (FIFA 07 and Halo 3, lol) I stumbled upon my copy of Mechassault I had stashed hopped online for a USB to XBOX adapter, and a Duke controller $20. Softmodded with Rocky5s installer! My DVD drive problem was solved by a friend who let me swap drives temporarily in exchange for modding his system. Rummaged through my old HDDs (no ide sadly, but!) I found a 2TB 3.5 drive lying about. Ordered a SATA to IDE adapter and an 80wire cable, now I have more games and emulators then I know what to do with anymore! lol Anyways, Thats the story of why I am here, to check out all the cool homebrew and troubleshoot anymore problems I stumble across in my journeys. Happy gaming guys, and long live the lil(Big?) black box! P.S. For anyone who might be familiar with my name, I was once a quite active member of the now dead isoZone. Hello especially to all of you that are still around the homebrew scene!
  8. Hello all. It's been a long time since I visited the old Xbox. I've modded quite a few back in the day and recently acquired a couple a few days ago in a box along with about 5 PS2s. I kinda got a little excited being as I haven't touched either one of them for several years. I had read about soft modding and wanted to try it since it didn't require any hardware or tools as I had gotten rid of everything I had. Well once I fired up the boxes I found both of them had hdd and dvd issues. I opened them up and, ..ugh. Both of them were 1.6b. Anyway, I jumped online and ordered a couple of Aladdin XT chips. It's slowed me down but has given me the time to look the forums over. I'm getting the itch back! I don't think the wife is going to like this all over again. Anyway I just wanted to say hi to everyone.
  9. After many years of service, and too much time without a power on, my beloved Xbox 1.0 decided to not boot anymore. In my attempts to revive it, I stumbled on this forum. Awesome discovery. So much updated information on how to mod the original Xbox that I felt in love again with the machine. It was really amazing to find such an active and supportive community. Happy to have joined you and hello to everybody!
  10. Hello everyone! I'm a new member from Norway who's looking to get back into the XBOX Community. Had to sell off my collection due to moving abroad, but have now moved back and realized my mistake. Currently buying a few xboxes, and looking to do some modding. Haven't soldered anything in years, but have watched a bunch of videos lately on xbox mods. If anyone has any recommendations on what Solder or Flux to use, I'd gladly take all the help I can get! Locally it seems as if I can only get lead free solder. I'm purchasing a Dibotech zd 8936 soldering station locally, and I'll be ordering some 30 AWG Solid core wire off eBay. I'm glad to be back, and looking forward to being a part of this forum!
  11. Hi, I have just finished transferring the complete (or as close as possible, all NTSC and most PAL games) Xbox game collection to my 2TB X3 Xbox. I say complete but i am missing the "Club Football" games as there is about 20 of them and they are petty much all identical..... I will pick one club and put both of their games on but i haven't decided yet. I have about 26Gb of space left on my G drive which i am planning to use to go through the few Jap exclusives and add any that are actually playable without knowing Japanese Its taken me the best part of a week to FTP it all across doing as much as possible each evening, had a few issues along the way, such as overheating a couple of times and even had a catastrophic hardware failure which resulted in me having to butcher another xbox for its motherboard to get my beloved x3cp xbox back up and running!! I managed to fit all these games in to 2TB by using a combination of extracted folder games and ISO's. I used ISO for those games that have 1000's of files as all those small files dont play well with a 64k cluster size. The ISO's do actually take less space on the hard drive!! Im running the excellent XBMC4Gamers as my dash (Thanks Rocky5) This is a fantastic dash and has provided everything from full artwork for EVERY game, to being able to patch a BFM bios to play the ISO file games. This has bought my xbox back from being unused and stuffed away in the loft to sitting under the TV in the front room where it deserves to be.
  12. Hey guys, I'm also active on the facebook page but wanted to also post my question here in the hopes the right person would be able to answer my question. I'm currently working on an 'ULTRA SLIM MOD" (all caps yes!) and am having some troubles on this 1.6 board with the Alladin Xt Plus2 chip. I've made some slimboxes in the past and this is my first 1.6 board. The mod chip is working fine and flashed with M8+ for 1.6 with the "Check dvd-drive" option disabled allowing me to run it, well, without a dvd. I've confirmed the bios is on there (changed the colour of the X logo) and it still boots perfectly with the dvd drive in it. Now come the tricky part, without the dvd drive it does actually boot up but it takes around 10 minutes (!) to even get unleashx to open, and it doesn't get any better from there. What am I doing wrong with above method that works flawless on 2 v1.0 boards with the same bios (but for 1.0-1.5 of course) with the same settings?
