About Me

  1. I recently bought a few faulty Xboxes yesterday and I want to try sort out this 1.1 which FRAGs. When I press eject it will often not open the disc tray, sometimes it will open quarter or half way or not close when it does open. I've tried 3 disc drives and they all have the same issue indicating a motherboard or possibly daughterboard problem. I have removed the clock capacitor which was only starting to leak. I've cleaned up what little leakage there was. Any ideas?
  2. $550CAD plus shipping Payment through PayPal. Selling a unique system to a new owner, I put together a great console with unique installed custom parts with a stealth switch to choose between empowering a lighted display or a dark environment while gaming. This console is carrying an Xecuter 3 signature mixed with XCM's fitted 3x hard drive bay module which allows you to switch between 3 different hard drives which contains three different dashboards. On the primary dashboard running UnleashX is themed with my signature advanced new age dynamic themes that I personally created and only available to valued supporters. In the inside of the console has dual custom LED heat sinks on the GPU and CPU branded by Vantec's rare out-of-production IceBerq 4 Pros. HardWare: v1.2 Xbox Dashboard TSOP X2 Bios Samsung DVD Drive (Rare)Xecuter 3 Jewel (Mad Modders Edition) - only one I have... XCM IDE cable cannot be removed from Hard Drives(will result in damage to the IDE cable) IceBerq 4 Pros are fans noisy (due to age) FYI: If console fails to boot on arrival means the pin from the Xapt3r has fallen out, the bank select button was switched in transfer or chip has come loose (you can still access the inside). Keep in mind when taking the console apart or modifying it by any means do not remove IDE cables from the hard drives, they're basically plugged in permanently. I like to keep customers up to date to know what they are buying if you have any questions please ask. Selling as is.

  4. Hi, I ordered a HDMI adapter from Ali and I have blackouts on my 1.6 and 1.2 boxes. The adapter is using 5V from AV port and I think it's not enough. My 1.2 has bad caps also next to cpu, I will replace them when they arrive but I would like to add external 5V from TV USB to the adapter. Anyone done that? Link to Aliexpress HDTV Adapter

  6. I found this on reddit, but it did not looking it was ever resolved.Changed the 3 caps under the CPU and now sound but no picture! Any ideas? I am having the same issue where I had to replace 5 blown caps, but afterwards I am getting no video. I can hear the boot animation, but I get no video. I have reflowed many times. 7. Hi guys, My problem is that i can connect to ftp via filezilla and i can also download games from my hard drive but if i want to upload games it always says connection to server lost... and then retries. What i have is a Alladin XT plus and evolution x. Maybe someone knows the problem.
  8. Hi, I've just cleaned up an old xbox to keep around as a spare. I've cleaned and lubed the drive mechanism in the DVD drive, all is moving smoothly and reading discs perfectly. The only problem is that, when opening the tray, the open/close button light keeps flashing while open, and after a few seconds, the tray closes by itself. It's not stopping me from playing games, but I'd like to get it back to working as it should. Does anyone know if this sounds like something that's easy to fix? Thanks very much. -Bob
  9. I bought this at a Goodwill years ago and there's something unusual wrong with it. It doesn't have any scratches or paint chips. Whenever I insert it it says "You need to connect the DVD Playback Kit receiver to a controller port to watch movies. Remove the disc to continue." So I went to my local pawn shop to get the DVD Playback kit. I get a message that says. "This is an Xbox game disc. Please put it in your Xbox to start playing." I'm confused!! How do I fix this?!
  10. Hello So I have a Chip called a jafar, Its an upgraded Aladdin XT with Xblast. 1 Bank of 512, 1 256 and the last 256 is reserved for the Xblast which always boots first. My Question is how do I get Dual Dashboards with this? I have UnleashedX as I've always liked it but want to give XBMC a try Ideally I'm looking to have say Unleashed X boot with the 512mb X2 5035.137 bios and XBMC Boot with the evox.m8plus bios or visa versa After extensive searching online I am none the wiser, Could someone point me in the right direction to get started?
  11. I'm running into an issue where just the following 4 NTSC USA games won't load on original firmware from retail disc (get stuck at the Xbox logo + Microsoft text after putting in the disc), or from hard disk via ISO or extracted files (just go to a black screen where even IGR won't work): Chicken Little Shellshock: Nam '67 Without Warning The Suffering: Ties That Bind I'm positive that these are good discs (used for the tests I've run on original firmware) and ISOs that I've ripped / converted myself and validated against Redump hashes (for the ISO loading failures). Full details on the setup and things I've tested follow: I've got an NTSC 1.2 Xbox, upgraded to a 2TB drive, using the recommended ~937 GB F/G configuration with 64 KB clusters on those partitions, on a StarTech adapter. The drive has been locked, so I can still use stock firmware. Clock capacitor has been removed (and clock time set), and the 5 largest capacitors (3 for CPU / GPU and the two large ones on the lower left / right of the board) have been replaced. An original Xenium chip is installed on firmware 2.3.1, with banks flashed for both EvoX M8+ (modded with EvoTool to add LBA48 support), and iND 5003 (the recent modified version with re-enabled XBL and reboot fix). Using 480i composite video out. The Language is set correctly in the MS dashboard to English, which should work with these 4 games. I've got the proper files in place to allow ISO mounting, and all my games are installed via this process: Dump disc with a Kreon firmware SH-D163B drive to full ISO Validate the CRC matches the Redump CRC (so I'm sure I have a known good dump and the disc isn't the problem) Extract the files from the Redump format ISO with Xbox Image Browser 2.9 build 0350 Use Qwix to turn the extracted files back into an XISO compatible for hard drive loading Split the XISO, if over 4GB, at 4292870144 bytes into two pieces, and name them gamename.1.iso / gamename.2.iso Throw the ISO into F or G, and run the XBMC4Gamers ISO prep script to put them into a unique subfolder, as well as extract the thumbnail and game name and put them into the launcher XBE that actually mounts the disc files and plays them. This gives me 2 ways to launch my games: I can either launch the ISO from XBMC4Gamers, or I can boot into the Xenium menu with the eject button, choose to launch the stock TSOP, boot into the original dashboard, then put the original disc in and play without any mods whatsoever. I have hundreds of games working perfectly this way, but those 4 games won't boot on this Xbox, no matter what I do. If I try to launch them through the ISO loading method from XBMC4Gamers the screen just goes black, then stays black indefinitely. IGR no longer works, and I have to hard power down the Xbox. (The same thing is true if I extract the files to F:\games and try to run the default.xbe.) If I try to launch them by booting into the original firmware on TSOP, waiting for the original dashboard to load, then putting the original disc in the tray, the Xbox changes to the Xbox logo screen, with "Microsoft" below the Xbox logo (aka "I've recognized a legit game and I'm loading it"), and then just stays on that screen forever, without actually starting the game. The only thing that will break out of that is ejecting the disc, which takes me back to the dashboard, or powering off. I've tried clearing the cache drives before loading these. I've also tried deleting the TDATA and UDATA for those games (as well as backing up all of E and wiping it clean). This has me stumped, because: I know the discs are good (dumping with a Kreon matches 100% to the Redump ISO as validated by hashes, plus 3 of the 4 look factory new) I know the disc drive can read games fine, as it can load any other original disc I throw at This doesn't appear to be a copy protection thing, because it happens equally when running EvoX M8+ / iND 5003 and loading an ISO or with stock firmware and loading the original disc, and when loading the original disc, we don't even get past the point where the Xbox logo / Microsoft text beneath it leave the screen to hand control over to the game. I know the Xbox is reading the disc, because if I boot into modded, rename E:\TDATA and E:\UDATA to E:\TDATAold and E:\UDATAold, clear cache drives, then shutdown, boot into stock firmware, put the disc in, let the system hang at the Xbox / Microsoft logo, eject the disc to return to the MS dashboard, and then check the Memory tab, the only entry there (as expected) is the one entry for the game I tried to boot, with its correct picture. I can't find any reports on the restored xboxscene forums, here, or reddit claiming that those games had issues booting for anyone else (though they're niche titles, so maybe no one has tried and bothered to post they don't work?), or any sort of Wikipedia article or the like talking about the games with a section mentioning they have issues loading on certain versions of Xboxes, etc. So in lack of that, it makes me think they should work and there's something else I'm missing. Any thoughts as to why these and just these 4 games don't work, either through ISO loading, extraction to hard disk, or known good retail disk on retail firmware would be really appreciated - I'm stumped!
  12. I seem to have a lot of issues with my data files on my G partition. Any emulators, games, media, etc., on the F partition work flawlessly. I can copy the same files over to my G partition and it is very hit and miss on whether things will function properly. There are also times when I can have everything working on G, then copy over some files (FTP or FATxplorer) and suddenly, things go wonky even with files that I never touched. My HDD is a Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB. So my G partition is quite large (803GB). My F partition is only 120GB. I used AID to prepare/format the drive. My BIOS is the EVOX m8+ CEE FG w/no DVD off the OGXBOX installer 1.5.3 disc. Is it possible that I am using a BIOS that doesn't handle that large G partition very well? Should I be using a different BIOS perhaps? It is very frustrating to work on making a HDD and getting the xbox all set up and then suddenly my files are corrupt for no apparently reason when they work just fine on F. Any insight here is greatly appreciated.
  13. Hello there, I recently decided to give a second chance to my old Xbox, my parents bought it to me back in 2004 when I was 12 years old. it is a v1.0 and always has booted EvoX, even to this day, the problem is that I can't find any modchip or TSOP. Maybe it's my lack of expertise but I thought that EvoX only boot in a hardmoded machine, so where it is? And if there is no chip, how can it boot EvoX? I've already removed and cleaned the clock capacitor leak, no visible corrosion.
  14. Hello, i recently found my old xbox again and i noticed that when i want to go into the official dashboard i get error code 13 and it prevents me to enter it. everything else works but the problem is i want to change my system language and audio settings and it seems it is only possible via the og dashboard. anyone able to help me out? i found a bunch of compilation discs but it seems they are only for softmodded consoles. thanks in advance!
  15. Hi again Following up on my previous post about mt ram upgrade. Ive ran into another issue. I have installed a 1tb HDD. Prior to upgrading my ram I had already formated the with F partition taking 120gb and G partition taking the rest of the space. I have filled F partition with xbox games which has taken quite some time. Ive now realised that IND-BIOS 5003.67 will not read G partition. M8 bios will read the G partition but then i wont be able to take advantage of my extra ram. From what Ive read it is to do with how my G patition table is written. If this is the issue, is there any way I re-write the partition table without disturbing the data?
  16. Been trying to find good links for MameOXtras and the newer addon updates for Ninja. Unfortunately all the ones I try are not being seeded and stop abruptly. Any help welcomed.
  17. Hi. When I try to boot into the dashboard the screen hangs on the xbox logo for a while and then displays the 07 error code 1 out 10 times/tries. Once I'm able to load the dashboard there are no problems. This problem has gotten worse over time and I am wondering if this points to a HDD problem. But the fact that once it has booted properly I can use it for hours with no issues or HDD failures which has me wondering if there are other issues here. The DVD searching sounds are pretty loud when I boot up the xbox. I seem to have an Aladdin XT 4032 modchip and a 1.4 or 1.5 xbox with a Focus video encoder chip. Any ideas? Help appreciated, S
  18. I bought a couple used IDE Seagate 160GB ST3160215ACE drives for cloning and backup. I'm a bit disappointed though because despite them being the same model, one of them vibrates significantly more than the stock drive while the other vibrates like normal but has a longer boot to dashboard time. I tried swapping the IO chip that screws to the bottom of the drive with no difference. I also tried re-cloning with Chimp and it resulted the same way. With that second, slower boot drive, the first time I tried to clone with Chimp it showed something like "IO error" a few times and so I had to restart the Xbox and reseat everything and then Chimp went ahead and cloned with no errors. I wonder if maybe there are bad sectors that are slowing it down maybe? You'd think it might be something like the drive being set to 5400 RPM mode in its firmware (if that's even possible), but then why would it take longer to boot than the stock WD 8GB 5400 RPM drive? So I'm not sure if I should be fine or if there's anything I can do to solve this or maybe just get another new drive? I don't like the extra vibration on the first drive but I also want a fast bootup, because the second drive adds like 10 seconds.
  19. I found an original xbox. I don't know much about it. It was opened, but I doubt that it was modded. I bought cables, which were lacking. I tried to connect it to my flat panel tv via a composite to HDMI converter. I can see the blue screen on the HDMI channel, and I can see it switch from 720 to 1080p, so I am convinced that is working. I never see anything from the XBOX though. All I get is a flashing green light. I don't have any idea of what's wrong or how to go about fixing it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  20. Hello OG Xbox forums, I've worked myself into a pickle again. The short version: I need to get a file off of an HDD that throws an error 16 (won't boot, Corrupted dash) but still works. Can I get it off using a second Xbox and a file manager, or do I need to buy an adapter and use Xpolorer 360 to get it off? The long Version: While preparing to TSOP flash my Xbox, I was copying saves over from the had drive onto a memory card for safe keeping. However when that didn't work with the UnleashX dash I tried to switch over to the default dash. This corrupted the files and now the Xbox throws an error 16 whenever it tries to boot from the HDD. Since it is an error 16 I can't boot from disc since the Xbox preforms the time check before it checks the DVD drive, and since the Xbox was only softmoded I can't just format a new drive and throw it in. From what I've found online I can use CHIMP and my working TSOP'd Xbox to recover the dash files on this second one, however I need the EEPROM.bin file. Can I get it off using a file manager that can detect both drives using the working TSOP'd Xbox, can CHIMP find the EPROM.bin file on the slave HDD and recover from that, or do I need to purchase an IDE adapter to connect my Drive to a PC via XPLORER 360 and then transfer it over to the XBOX? Thanks.
  21. Hi there, I bought an old duke gamepad which unfortunately has a problem with its left thumbstick. The thumbstick feels OK and can move in any direction but it always sends the same x-axis signal : full right i.e. maximum positive value (tested with TestLaunch). What could be the cause? Bad cable? Bad solder? Bad joystick mechanism? Something else? Please advise! TIA Serge
  22. Coming back to the ogxbox is great, but playing games that have inverted look/aim (opposite of modern games) in such a pain and just can't get used to it. Luckily most games have an option to swap but for the ones missing the option is there any way to patch the games? Thanks.
  23. Hi! I have a softmoded xbox with dualboot (when i click the power button it boots UnleashX, but when the DVD drive is opened - xbmc4xbox). So i want xbmc to be my main dashboard. UnleashX is located in C:/Dashboard, while XBMC is in E:/Alt Dashboard (it's here, so i could boot it, if the dvd drive is opened). Should i temporarily install EvoX and then swap the UnleashX and XBMC directories (xbmc will go in C:/Dashboard and UnleashX - in E:/Alt Dashboard) using the build-in file manager or FileZilla? Or there is some other way to do this?
  24. I've noticed many games for the XBox like Otogi, Forza Motorsport, Amped and so on are really difficult (somebody also says Ninja Gaiden Black, but I haven't tried it). Despite their quality in graphics and sounds, they're actually frustrating to play for those like me who just want to have some fun (or can't spend their whole intellectual energy). So, what are some good games, not necessarily hyped in graphics, even "mediocre" or average ones which are actually fun to play ? I mean games with a balanced difficulty and normal gameplay, something you shouldn't spend your whole life in it, something that doesn't leave a feeling of frustration, something that really made you say "wow this was fun" after you finished it, something that you can actually finish (lol, because some of those games require entire months to be finished)... know any worthy of being mentioned ? Like somebody else said " gaming is about fun, if it's fun no more then I should be paid for playing them "... you got the paradox, right ? you know, some games you shouldn't devote your life to but just.. play, you know especially from this list, as I'm interested in xbox-only games (games which aren't for PC or PS2/GC) Category:Xbox-only games - Wikipedia
