If even the slightest bit of pressure is placed on the case directly above the disc drive as it’s running, there’s a metallic “vibrating” noise. I actually had to loosen the screws on the case to stop it doing it all the time after reassembling it. I thought perhaps I’d tightened the two halves of the shell together too much. Also, is the read/boot time “normal” between inserting a disc and the black Xbox splash screen showing? Video here:

Hey guys, Wondering if someone might be able to help me with this. Recently installed OpenXenium on my 1.6 with LPC board (pics attached). Xbox turning on just fine but getting a black screen when video cables connected. Tried both component and standard composite. The Xbox led is green as per usual. The chip led itself actually flashes so I know its getting power BUT after it flashes a few colors the chip LED turns off and I'm left with a black screen on the tv. When i remove my video cables from the xbox and only have the power plugged into the Xbox the chip LED stays on, flashing every few seconds between red and yellow. Xbox boots fine to dash with chip unplugged. The machine is soft modded. Could that be causing an issue getting to the Xenium OS screen? Losing hope on this. Thoughts?

When I insert a game I hear some quiet chirps from the drive then nothing. No error or change in screen, just the menu. It's as if the drive doesn't detect a disc so maybe my question is does the laser itself detect the presence of a DVD? Or is there a dedicated sensor to repair? It's a Samsung drive. I didn't think this was related so I'm saving the repair for later but I have to manually eject the drive. It also needs a little nudge to close. I tried searching but everyone gets error messages or at least a splash screen. I couldn't find my specific problem. I'd really like to have a modded console as well as a working original so if I can repair this drive I'd be ecstatic.

Hey everyone, You've been helpful in the past and turn to you again. I got my hands on a mobo 1.2 and cleaned it up (Clock cap puked on some of the stuff inside but I was able to clean it all off with some 91% isolpropyl) looks like I was able to TSOP the points right. I was able to flash the EvoX 256kb no dvd bios but now it just gets stuck on the boot screen with the traditionally green Xbox Logo now blue. Did I overlook something when flashing the bios or not install the right kb size bios?? Im using the OGXbox installer 1.5.3

Hello, I have an issue with 2 of my apps where if I reload them or try to load a game from them I get a black screen and nothing loads up after that. When I first start the apps they load fine. I have to reset the system to exit the apps to get back to the dashboard. I have changed directories, Installed both of them under F:\Applications and F:\Games. In both directories I get the same result. The Apps are: CoinOps8Lite and XBMC-EmuStation It is a hardmodded Xbox running Xecuter2 and the EvoX Dashboard. Is there something I have to change to get them to work? Thanks for the help!

I did search first before posting and couldn't find any threads specifically talking about this. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious. I have tested with an original XBOX S Type controller and a 3rd party controller. I have also tested with a USB keyboard and an adapter. None of which work when I enter XeniumOS. However, the controllers work when modchip is disconnected. This is a 1.4 revision XBOX. I assume it must be one of my solder joints to the modchip. I have already reflowed these joints multiple times to fix another issue. Unfortunately, I closed the machine up before I realized the problem. Anyone know which pins I should focus on? Is there a way to test continuity between LPC header pins and the motherboard? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi, I have been searching for a way to disable the profile picture of XBMC4GAMERS. I only have one profile and it is set to auto load. Looking at /system/userdata/profile.xml there is the line <thumbnail pathversion="1"> that shows where the current image is located but if I delete it, there is still an empty square shown.... now how do I get rid of this square?

Hello everyone, i'm new on the scene and a month ago i started with my first modded xbox project. I'm from the Netherlands and have a pal 1.6 hardmod xbox with EVOX M8 bios. I make it to ntsc so i can use all hd modes and using the pound hdmi cable. My goal is to have a xbox with all games that where release on it on 1 disc. So i put a Seagate 3TB disc so i get the max of 2TB and use xbmc4gamers as dash. I found almost all games now, its a pretty challenge to fit them all (using soms ntsc instead of pal games or deleting all un needed files ). i'm now in the mode to test al games (i start the game and go to the first level) and now i''m on the letter c with the club football games. There are around 36 titles (2003 and 2005 versions) but non of them starting. When i started it it goes to a black (blank) screen and nothing happend. I try different sources from games, all the same. Patching ith with 480p loader has no effect. I can find an ACL patch and default patching doesn't work. I don't think it's a image problem, because all club football editions don't start. All other games (so far i tested, now about 200 games) are starting fine (sometimes with patching or finding an other source\version of the game). Any idea how i can start these games to work? Hey guys! So 2 quick questions here. Recently got my 1.6 with the red modchip installed, flashed and working with F and G on a new hdd. Works great. Problem is when I do the 2 triggers plus back and start to reboot, it frags. Power down and back up again and we are golden. Any ideas? Also. Got a v1.0 Xbox and removed the clock capacitor.l for safety. After I removed it the Xbox refused to boot anymore. Literally does the reboot 3 times then frags thing. Any thoughts? thanks!

My Xbox is not modded in any way. It has composite cables as well. My Xbox will occasionally boot up games normally but most of the time it boots up every game with only the audio. I saw a post on a forum a while ago about how to easily fix this, but I can no longer seem to find it.

I bought a new OLED65B9PTA tv but am having issues connecting the XBOX to it. I can hear audio but don't see any video. The tv has a 3.5mm socket labeled 'AV1' and an adapter cable that goes from white/red/yellow TCA sockets to a 3.5mm plug and that's what I've connected to. When digging for info I found https://www.cnet.com/reviews/lg-oled65b9pua-review/ which says 'Unlike many of Samsung's sets, this one actually has an analog video input for legacy (non-HDMI) devices, although it no longer supports analog component video.' I'm not very clued up on exactly what the different outputs are. Is the xbox output analog component video and that's why I'm not seeing anything? I double checked plugging into my old TV and the XBox itself definitely still works. I'll appreciate any tips you might have. Cheers, Pete

Hi I’m new here, just signed up. I’m hoping I can get my Xbox fixed. the problem is my Xbox doesn’t turn on all the way when I have my component OR composite cables plugged in, it turns on, briefly shows orange, then shuts off but when I unplug the video and turn it on the Xbox seems fine? (But no video of course) I’ve looked at the model date and it’s a 1.6b. I have a picture of the clock capacitor and to me it seems fine though I’m kinda new to this sorta thing. Can my Xbox be fixed? Is there some other issue with it? (It IS softmodded with UnleashX installed) Thank you

i was ftp'ing games onto my new hdd when filezila suddenly error'd. when i went to check my xbox the dashboard said i have 0mb left(i had over 2,000gb on this partition) on e drive and games management said i only have 3 games installed. i deleted the games and the dashboard was saying i only have 3,000+mb's free. long story short, i kept messing around with trying to reformat the hdd and put about 1024gb on 2 partitions but the dash board would only show that i had a little over 3,000mb on each partition even the partition wizard was saying i had 1024gb on each partition. what the heck is wrong with this thing? i'm currently erasing the hdd in my pc and writing all 0's to it. then i intend to try it again but i have no idea if this gonna fix it. btw, i have an aladdin chip(5004 f and g bios), 80 wire ide cable, and 3tb barrcuda seagate drive.

Hello, I just softmodded my Xbox I just got this week using Rocky5. I followed Mr.Mario11's softmod tutorial and every screen corresponded. I used the softmod tools extras kit and installed the Stock MS Dash 5960. Now when I put in a game disk, the xbox logo runs with sound and then the screen goes black when trying to load game disk(have tried different CDs). I tried to FTP a game to HDD. Xbox logo loads, am able to get rocky5 dash but game does not load(Have tried different games). When loading from HDD, xbox color of disk ejection is orange still. Xbox had not been opened, original HDD. I have tried different A/V cables. It always loads the first dashboard but not the second one. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hello guys, We just bought an old Xbox and when trying to install Rocky5 on it using Splinter Cell, we only get a black screen when loading the save. The front LED turned to red and nothing. The TV still says it has a 50Hz signal coming. The saves we used previously modded another Xbox successfully, is there something we're missing? Like a hardware revision limitation or rewriting the saves ? Thanks in advance bros.

Hi, I just started up my xbox after having it stored in a box for around 10 years I have used HeXen 2018 to update to latest version of dash. But when I start my old games stored on the HDD it will first show the "Starting Game xxx" and after a couple of seconds boot back to the dash again. The only things that works are: - apps that are installed with the Hexen disk (Not XBMC) - The Game Big Motha Truckers (starts but gets an error that the disk is dirty) Any ideas of what the problem could be? I have a Xecutor2 chip installed on the XBOX. If I turn off the chip it will not start but show an error. BR

Hey Everyone! Fifa 07 (NTSC US) always crashes during the load screen when the bar is at almost 1/4th. It's pretty much like a hard crash in windows, everything freezes and the sound loops. I downloaded the Game from Arcade Punks. I tried Unleashx and XMBC4Gamers. My xbox is hardmodded Does anyone else have this problem?

I have a TSOP modded Xbox (PAL) on which I want to view Region 1 DVDs. The console itself is region free and everything seems to be going fine until about 5-10 mins into the DVD, when the picture suddenly freezes and the console crashes for seemingly no reason at all. I have the video settings on NTSC M (when playing the DVD in PAL mode the picture stutter). Anyone familiar with this problem?

Guys, I need to know if you can transfer saves with no issues after you upgrade your HDD, is this possible? I want to upgrade my HDD using Chimp (but I have to wait for my Sata to IDE adaptor to arrive). I have access to FTP the files over ethernet, so that is no problem for me, but, would the saves work on the new HDD?? My eeprom.bin has been nulled already by following Mr. Marios tutorial on Youtube by the way. Please let me know what you guys know please! Thank you all!

When your tring to solder to a circuit board and you damage it don't despair most stuff up's can be fixed If you have ripped the trace off the Xbox circuit board you need to STOP and try to relax, Walk away from the job for a minute or ten or more if neaded This is the trace that is damaged and need's to be repaired. This is a pic of a undamaged PCB same location. The red wire is what was suposed to happen 1st step Clean off the paint. I cheated and used a Glass fiber pen to do that but gentley scraping the track is ok you only nead to remove the paint. 2nd Step Add flux to the board 3rd Tin the trace 4th Prep the wire you are going to use. I use wirewrap wire for a repair like this one as it's a single strand. 5th Tin and trim the wire. I should have trimed it a bit shorter 6th Lay the wire on the tinned trace and apply heat. 7th Clean up the PCB Now rince and repeat for the other end. Once you have tested it and your happy a small dob of hot melt glue or even a dob(pin head sise) of super glue to stop the wire moving. Not on the solder joint say 5 to 10mm(1/4 inch) from the solder joint.

Hey all. i hope you can help. My 'Project Xbox' (V1.4) which i generally tinker with has an Aladdin X2 running IND bios. All my other Xbox's are either soft modded or have Xceuter 2 installed. I've never tsop'd a console and was thinking that i should give it a go and move the Aladdin X2 off too one of my 1.6's that has been soft modded. Can i boot to dash, pull the chip and then flash the tsop? Assume i have already bridged the 1.4 mobo ready for a tsop flash? ( This box, like all my others has a failed DVD that doesn't read discs. so need to do all this from the xbox itself) And... what software should i flash with? Thanks heaps

While tinkering with my Ndure softmodded Xbox, I have managed to mess something up with the files on the hard drive. I now get error 21. I'm not too concerned as I was sure to back up the eeprom. What I would like to do is use something like xboxhdm to build a new hard drive but have the softmod files included when the hard drive was being built. This way I simply put the hard drive in and I dont have to go through the process of softmodding all over again as it was included when I built the hard drive. From there I will probably just go ahead and TSOP flash the Xbox to make any future issues easier to deal with. What would be the easiest way to do something like this?

As the title says, I have an Xbox with an incredibly annoying buzz/hum problem. The buzz comes from the speakers of the TV, not the Xbox itself. And only occurs when using the component cables. When using composite cables, the audio is perfectly fine. Haven't tried SCART as I do not have the cable. I'm pretty sure this issue wasn't an issue just a few months ago. I've tried using different power cables, different power sockets (in case of grounding issue)... I think SOMETIMES it depends on what game is being played whether the buzz appears. My Xbox is softmodded, with the only physical mod being a new SATA HDD using an HDD to SATA adapter. Is this a possible cause? The only other thing I can see are three capacitors that LOOK like they are bulging, but no leaking yet. The three caps in question are right below the CPU heatsink, labelled C3E2, C2E5 and C1E1.. I've attached a photo to show the caps. The photo isn't mine, I found it on Google images but it's identical to mine., Are these caps related to audio, or are they related to something else like power? So the question is... does anyone out there have any ideas as to the cause of a buzzing noise with component cables that probably wasn't there a few months ago?

I've got a little over 100 games that i've FTP'd to my xbox. I downloaded and resized covers to use for icons. I can add them manually to about half of them but once I get so far through the list, UnleashX will restart and then when I go back into the games list some of the ones I've added are gone. Is there a better way to do this? Am I doing something wrong? I'm just kinda puzzled that it's working perfectly for about the first 50 games and then I get this issue
