  2. Console won't turn on, only blink green few times. CD drive won't open, nothing. tried to flash x3 1MB bios to 1.0 motherboard. I had previously flashed 256kB, 512kB. Any directions?

  4. Just a theoretical pondering as I could not find any info on it. I know you can null a HDD key on a soft mod’d xbox so I was wondering if it was possible to null and lock a hdd using a tsopd xbox then transfer it into the soft mod’d xbox? Cheers
  5. This is a guide for anyone out there who may have an old mod chipped system and decides they want to Flash the TSOP and get rid of the mod chip. For Xbox revisions 1.0 to 1.5 only. I've had my v1.1 Xbox since almost launch (in Australia) the box has served me well for over 17 years. Had it modded by a guy we found in the newspaper. Just some small maintenance along the journey - refurbish the DVD drive (Samsung), fix trace corrosion and remove the clock capacitor. Now it was time to say goodbye to the Aladdin Advance. This may not be the quickest way, but I think it would be one of the safest. Full backup of all partitions on my PC Backup of EEPROM (Through Evox Dash) - Send to PC Backup of HDD EEPROM through Config Magic(different to the Evox Backup?) - Send to PC Locked the HDD to the Xbox via ConfigMagic or Evox Dash etc Softmodded with Slayers 3.3 - C drive no virtual Removed Aladdin Advance mod chip - mine was soldered directly to MB so be careful when removing. I accidently broke off the C702 component and had to solder back on. Soldered the correct TSOP write points for my Xbox revision - For Reference https://www.ogxbox.com/forums/index.php?/topic/20-tsop-flash-guide/ Checked BIOS with Bios checker on AutoInstallerDeluxe 4.5.3 TSOP confirmed writable. It will say 'TSOP?' up the top of the screen Ran TruHexen 2020, flash bios the correct BIOS to TSOP depending on revision - v1.0 & v1.1 can support up to 1MB Bios, v1.2-v1.5 can support 256KB Bios - M8 Plus.67 is safest Ran option 3.5.2 on TruHexen2020 - clean C after TSOP - To remove Softmod Reformatted F and G drives with XBpartioner 1.3 - ensuring they show the full and correct amount in File Explorer/Your dash of choice Delete contents of C and E partitions via FTP, and FTP over original C and E contents, reboot the Xbox FTP all F and G data back to the Xbox. For a video of the TSOP solder and flash process - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIw8k5areQg&t=126s Hopefully this will help someone in the future. Thanks
  6. Hello! So after some suggestions from people here on the forum, I decided to attempt TSOPing my 1.0 xbox. Now, I haven't soldered for 4-5 years, and haven't touched an xbox since I moved abroad (have now moved back), so I don't remember much about the whole process. Didn't want to wait for flux because it wouldn't arrive for another 3 days, so I did the bridging without it. (Success btw) Now, for the flashing part, I'm wondering what bios you guys would suggest as the chip has a 1mb bank, and which CD you would recommend for setting the whole thing up (Hexen, Slayer etc). I know this is a bunch of NoOb questions, but I haven't been in the scene for a couple years. Looking forward to your replies! - Fixified
  7. Tried to solder the pads for a 1.4 and ended up removing a solder pad. When I try flash it just gets stuck at erasing the 0 percent shows. My solder skills aren't the greatest so I'm not surprised. I've since got some conductive paint/glue and tsop flashed a 1.1 successfully. Is there any other way I can manage to tsop flash this Xbox even though the pads gone?
  8. Hi Guys. I just wanted to share that I used Bare Contuctive Electric Paint for the first time today to TSOP flash one of my Xboxs and it was the easiest TSOP flash I have ever done. I used a toothpick to apply the paint. The paint is kind of thick and it was really easy to apply. I bought it at Amazon. Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KBXT6JW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  9. Hey Guys, since a few days i'm having problems with my Xbox. It randomly doesn't boot anymore and just hangs on the xecuter rox my Box Screen. When I try to boot i again a few hours later, sometimes it Boots without problems and on Other occasions it hangs again. I am using xbmc4gamers as Dash through a shortcut xbe. The BIOS ist x5035. I love my Xbox and would be very thankful for any Help.
  10. A guy on another forum has just fried the R7D10 position contact points on a v1.4 Xbox and in the process appears to have melted or knocked off the adjacent surface mounted resistor next to the R7D9 ID so presumably that resistor. It is one of those mini black SMD ones with no marking and he needs to know the value to be able to replace it . Who knows, he might get it fixed but at the moment the Xbox is apparently fragging. I've used a multi-meter on my v1.2/v1.3 which is probably the same type/value but I'm not confident of my reading so if anyone here knows the value or can check and confirm it themselves, preferably on a v1.4, it would help. EDIT The original poster actually found confirmation elsewhere: it is as I had tested 10k Ohms (which pleases me ) to be precise:- It's a 10k 0402 SMD resistor
  11. Hi guys after succesfully tsop my crystal og xbox 1.4 i was trying to re-install xbmc4gamer and when i try to install it in partition e i get an error of cannot copy D and is not working. Only way i found it to work is if i install it as an app but then im unable to have it on boot Anyone knows why? Forgot to say im using rocky tools extra disk for installing xbmc Thanks
  12. Hey guys I have a 1.0 and i've been reading about splinting the 1mb tsop. I plan on just having 2 banks of 512k and have one with x2 and the other with IND. I understand that depending on which point I solder to I need to cut the trace(example a18/19). I am just double checking regarding the process. 1)once the switch is install and I select the bank(ground A18) then power on with hexen in the drive do I just go about and flash it the IND 512k bios? 2)What would happen if the switch was in the off position (middle position on a 3 position switch) where nothing is being powered or grounded? any inside would be great. And if it is a bad idea please let me know. This is the guide that I found to be most informative but I still have a few questions. https://web.archive.org/web/20150929093339/http://xbox-scene.com/articles/tsop-live-1mb.php aswell
  13. If i flash a bios with the skip dvd check will i still be able to boot from dvd on a blank harddrive?
  14. I have a TSOP v1.0 that I did a fresh install to a 2TB hard drive using HeXEn 2018. I then installed XBMC4gamers as my default dash. Now I am wanting to know what I need and what I can get rid of from the HeXEn install. Since I use XBMC4gamers I had two copies of dvd2xbox. I already deleted the one HeXEn installed, and I deleted xb partitioner, figuring I won’t need it again on this Xbox. What else don’t I need? HeXEn put a lot of stuff on the E partition. I’m wondering about the contents of the HexIns folder, HeXEn Tools folder, and the delete me folder. What is Config Magic for? And unrelated but, can anyone point me to where I can find a copy of the controller tester?
  15. Hey guys, right now I own a 128mb xbox from n64freak and a 1tb hdd. Unfortunately some of my games do not boot, neither from hdd nor from disk. Others boot but get hung up on the loading screens. I tried different sources for my games on the hdd and they still hang, even with the original disk. Because of that I tried different FTP programs to, but it didn't help. Right now I am running some kind of IND-BIOS refering to my startup screen. I already tried reformating my hdd, but it didn't help, so my guess is that it might be a BIOS problem. The question now is, as i never tried that before (the installed BIOS was flashed by N64FREAK), which bios is the best one for my setup if i want to upgrade to a 2tb hdd? Or might the problem be of some other source? Any help is much appreciated.
  16. Hi, I just acquired a 1.0 xbox for 10€ , the guy told me that the console wasn't able to read discs, so i try to put a disc on it, it works but painfully , sometime it does (the loading time takes a long time, and the boot aswell), sometime it just don't (it goes to the ms dash like there is no disc on it), but i decided to hardmod it anyway since i'm not planing to use the dvd drive (already have all of my backups on my other xboxes). I first softmoded it with the splinter cell exploit, then i solder the bridges to flash a 256bits EVOX M8+ (F and G) bios with the hexen disc ( i wasn't sure if the 512bits was the one to choose or not), i installed an 250gb HDD from another xbox that was hardmoded aswell, but didn't bother to format it, since it has the same configuration. I made i backup of the eeprom just in case, installed XBMC4gamers, tried some games and emulators, and so far so good. BUT, once i'm in a game and want to go back to my main dash (XBMC4gamers), the console has this weird behavior, the led are blikning green, i can hear the dvd drive spin two times, while the console reboot, it has the microsoft logo, then it restart again to finally come to my main dash. Basically it's take just a little bit longer, so it's not like she didn't reboot at all, but still, it's quite annoying.. And it only does that with XBMC4gamers, as for Unleashx it's just reboot the console like she normally would. I tried to clean the hdd, by removing the xbmc folders to avoid any conflict, but that didn't change anything Any ideas why it does that? Cheers
  17. Could I have some advice please on a way to TSOP flash a bios of recommendation without the use of the DVD drive. So off the hard drive or USB.
  18. i dont see any writing on the chip. is there another way to identify?
  19. Hi there, I got a couple of old XBoxes sitting around, all softmodded and (maybe) also TSOPed. How (w/o opening them and checking for soldered points) can I check if they are also TSOPed? And if they aren't, the right order would be: softmod (Rocky5) open up and TSOP might as well remove clock cap while we're there (are they all in the same spot? I got 1.0 and 1.4 boards so far) replace dashboard optionally replace hard drives and null eeprom ??
  20. Over the past week I've picked up 5 1.1 consoles with a 1mb tsop bank. What BIOS would you recommend me using for the 1mb chip and method to flash it via the HDD. Note: I don't have a way to burn a disc with something like hexen so far so I'd be flashing via the HDD.
  21. Hey guys, I've had issues with my xbox for quite some time now. It is a 1.1, 128mb, TSOP flashed with Ind-Bios. Many games wouldn't boot, no matter what, tried different sources, settings whatsoever. Some games gave me a direct black screen when trying to run, some would boot but then lock up on the loading screen. So today I tried running Hexen2018 from the download section here from my hdd, but as i wasn't sure which bios to flash i chickened out and exited without doing anything. To my suprise my xbox no longer booted into XBMC4Gamers, but into unleashX, the first two times without showing the IND-BIOS boot up. As obviously something had changed I tried to run some of the games that hung on a black screen before, and suddenly they worked. The other games that hung on loading screen still didn't work, but I was glad Halo finally booted on me, as I wanted to play it for ages. But after a couple of reboots, the IND-BIOS bootup reappeared and my xbox started showing the same behavior as before. Halo gave me a black screen again, as five minutes before it was working. Anyone knows what might be the problem here? Do I need to reflash my BIOS maybe or use some other?
  22. Hey Everyone, weird issue. I got a xbox 1.0 off ebay, it needed a DVD drive, ordered one and installed. System worked fine, I was able to softmod with no issues. I then removed the clock capacitor, fixed 1 trace that was bad for the power button (power/eject button work perfectly now, prior to this, no power button, but eject worked) soldered the 2 points for TSOP write (1 onto of mobo 1 on bottom) and proceeded to tsop flash the system using truhexen 2019.I have a 1.0 so I'm assuming a 1MB TSOP if I understand things I've read online, and loaded a 512kb bios from the hexen disk that was for 1.0-1.5, IRC it was x2. bios with F only, I was only given 4 options, all 4 x2, F and F&G, F 420p & F&G 420p. After the flash, the system rebooted and worked fine. I powered off system, removed the HDD and replaced it with what I wanted to upgrade to, and now all I get is FRAG, put the original drive back in, same thing. it attempts to boot 2 times, then the 3rd time its a FRAG. What might I have done wrong? Thanks everyone in advance! ~John
  23. Hi, i bought an xbox for 10€ a couple of months ago, i had to clean it, removed the clock capacitor and i also did a tsop flash (evox m8 bios) I added a 500gb hard drive, wich works quite fine, i tested it on another xbox and even a xbox 360! The thing is, the xbox takes a long time to boot, like 30 seconds, my other tsop 1.4 xbox takes no more than 15secs (give or take). I took a cheap chinese ide to sata for the xbox, it work well on my other xbox so i don't suspect that the problem can come from this. At first i thought that it was coming from the 80pins ribbon wich wasn't long enough, so i bought a longer one, but it didn't change anything. And on top of that, when i press both triggers + start + back in order to go back to my main dash, the xbox take at least 10 to 15 seconds to give me an error 07 I suspect the dvd drive to be the issue, but why will it start with no other problem that the long boot when i press the power button, but fail to reboot when i press both triggers+start+back ? By the way i can hear two spins from the dvd drive, i think the xbox check if there is any dvd on it, so i tryed to insert a xbox game and the hexen disc, it loads, it takes a long time to load, but still.. So, is there any way to bypass the dvdcheck to see if it's come from this, whithou having to make any power modification ? i read that it's possible by disable dvd check on a certain bios + hardwares modifications wich i'm not feeling quite comfortable with.. Or if you guys think that it could come from somewhere else?
  24. Hello is it actually easy from a softmod to a tsop ? What do you need all that for?
