So yes, that is my question, are there any custom dashboards that look like the original microsoft dashboard? See, I am quite new to the "original Xbox" and I would LOVE to experience something at least similar to the original experience with an Xbox circa 2004. You know, with all the sounds (which I've heard they are creepy) and look of the original. I am yet to use my XBOX as it came with the controllers completely smashed and dead. I live in Chile, so I bought an controller in good condition and it will come here who knows when (internationally). No market for used Xbox things in here. I am also searching for a 220v 1.6 Power supply for the Xbox, just in case, I mention this. Hope to hear from you guys, I did enjoy the 360 A LOT, so I think I am going to love the Xbox! Hi, everibody, Gotta a chipmodded/softmodded Xbox original. Try everything but: Max Payne 2 freezes in the same point of the game right in the begginin' when that little guy in a uniform, guides Max throug a trap and then the game freezes soon as all the hell's gonna breaks loose. Love this game, but it's freezin' at this point and I try EVERY versions (ntsc or pal from a to z), delete cache, fix date, turn igr on and off... an it freezes at the SAME POINT... nothing works. Ok. I can manage, I'll play on PC, graphics a lot better and got a 360 controller. But then, the same thing happens to X-Men Legends, just in one of the first danger room. Freezes AT THE SAME FREAKIN' POINT! Look all over forums and people with the same problem but find no one... got nothing. Thanks.

Salutations! Many, many moons ago I mowed several thousand million lawns for a PlayStation 2. I loved every bit of it. Great memories, awesome games, years went by and the damn thing still works. I went into the army and after returning home from my second deployment I picked up all the consoles I grew up with and finally an OG Xbox. Man did I miss out. So, lesson learned there. Now I use my Xbox with unleash X to mainly play Battlefront I and II. I'm used to using my Pi 3 B+ for most of my emulation needs but then I discovered emulation on the Xbox and I am more than impressed. I would love to do a 2TB emulation box so I can share the "classics" with my son. I honestly don't think I have enjoyed a console as much as the OG Xbox in the last few years. I love modding things and learning about all the tech specs and limitations. All in all glad to be a part of this community!

Hello, found my original xbox 1.4 from back in highschool brought me back to the days when we had parties opening them up and modding them. Did some upgrades then I bought 3 more. Well I need the hexen disk and the site says I need to make 5 posts before I can download it to use on the xboxs unjust took apart and refurb.

Good afternoon everyone. I'm putting games and emulators on my Xbox, I downloaded coinOPS and it has a lot of cool games on it, specially arcade games for a lot of hours of fun. Now I'm looking for an emulator of PSX and N64. I tried the PCSXBOX_v.23 with Vigilante 8 and Vigilante 8 2nd offense and it goes really, really slow. I changed some parameters of the emulator and there isn't improvement in the emulation. Anyone knows a better emulator or the correct configuration to play these games?

Hi people! So i was walking pass a garbage dump waiting to be picked up by the trashmen that day, when this big bag caught my eye with some electronic gear in it. To my suprise it had loads of cables and controllers and this Xbox! That cool thing i wanted back then at the start of the millennium,.. but didn't had the money for it . Took it home, hooked it up and to my surprise it is working fine! (that attitude of people throwing working things away makes me quite angry ) I am in luck i guess. Looking up i found out it's best to mod it these days.. and found this: But it seems i can only get error 11 and not 12... i think thats why its not unlocking... as my computer can find it but Xplorer360 can't. I have Kernel 1.00.4034.01 and Dash 1.00.5960.01 ...so far my first steps into modding my xbox hope one of you know how to go further

Evening all I’m rather late to the party 15years at a wild guess! A simple loft clear out and low and behold my 1.1 from when I was a child came out of its box! No leakage from the clock capacitor which I couldn’t believe!! I have just completed a clock capacitor removal and Tsop all successful just thought I’d pop in and say hi!

Hi all, I decided to dig out my Xbox (v1.1) and mod it to turn it into a emulation station. Luckily I got it out at the correct time as I caught the clock capacitor just as it was beginning to leak. I have just finished soft modding it and soldering the tsop write access solder points. Unfortunately I have gotten caught out by the Phillips disk drive as it decided it didn't want run Hexen which I had burnt to a DVD RW. I don't have any DVD R at hand so I will have to postpone the tsop BIOS flash to tomorrow when I can get some DVD R's. Hopefully I should be able to finish modding the Xbox tomorrow with the tsop flash and install a larger hard disk. I just wanted to say hi to everyone in this great forum.

Hello, I have noticed that my XBMC4GAMERS version hasnt updated for a while. I thought not much of it. Then i decided to try and download some homebrews and DLCs for some games i have. Whenever i chose something (mods,updates,emulators) it just shows 3 points moving, as if it were connecting or something, but nothing happens. I tried updating my Downloader, samething, no download or progress. I remember this used to work a few months ago. Is the service still up or is there something wrong with my xbox? My xbmc4gamers version is 1.2.122 I wish i could give you the version of my downloader but seems it cant be display. It reads "URLDownloader Version:" As if the numbers didnt fit in the screen even after changing the display settings. Thank you for any answer and to Rocky5, i know you read this all the time but thank you for creating this and keeping our consoles alive.

Are here any repercussions to that? i did it to prevent leaking but i'd like to know if it needs replacing for some feature or if it was unnecesary.

Would any you know if it would be possible to run a amd athlon thunderbird 1.4ghz inside the xbox? Its the rival to the pentium III with a socket A 462 could it be done. Could the cpu socket be modified to run this cpu? Any relevant information and ideas and thoughs would be welcome. No negative nancies , Keep those to yourself.

I bought a 500gb Xbox fully loaded with origins dashboard and games - one game (GTA San Andreas) appears on “featured games” but when I press A the console resets - how do I delete it from appearing in “Featured Games” - or could I add the game somehow as I have the disk? Thanks

I have a dvd drive that reads disks but crashes because the board is faulty - can I take a working board from a dvd drive with a laser that doesn't read disks? And If so is it pretty easy to do - any guides? Thanks

So yes, I know it sounds weird, but I dream with disabling or remove the analogue/sensitive button crap from my Xbox controller! I want to play the Splinter Cell games and their sensitivity is horrible the way it works with the original Xbox controller (you have to press very hard on the face buttons for actions to register). It would also help other games and compatibility with other controllers (I've heard the wireless logitech controllers have compatibility issues with original xbox controllers that USE the sensitive functionality). At least I would want to make it so every push of the button, no matter how slightly, it would push at 255 strength every time. Anybody has any idea of how to begin doing this? This would be done in hardware hopefully. All ideas are welcome

So my friend and I are trying to replace the front panel LEDs with RGB LEDs using a separate microcontroller. We were able to read the status from the current front panel so we can react to error codes properly, so it isn't just a "dumb" LED replacement with an external controller. Our next goal was to send commands over the SMBus to the Arduino (Nano, ATmega328P) we use to control the RGB LEDs. I customized the XBMC code to send data to the new address I defined for the Arduino, in our case we used 0xE9. Since the Wire library of the Arduino already shifts the bits, we set the Arduino's address to 0xE9 too. The thing is, the Xbox sends the signal, but the Arduino isn't reacting to the given address. We already tried to analyze the signal and we can confirm that there is data being sent through the SMBus. OFC we wired up SDA and SCL correctly, we checked twice and since the logic analyzer is able to sniff data, it should be correct. Has anyone ever tried this yet? I've seen a couple of threads talking about controlling Ambilight over the SMBus but it seems like nobody has tried it yet. I guess we are doing something wrong, but we haven't yet figured out what it is that we are missing. Next thing would be buying a proper logic analyzer, but maybe somebody here has some experience and could lead us in the right direction before we spend the money. Is there any more documentation on the SMBus of the Xbox out there? I've just found the documented stuff on the xboxdevwiki. Thanks in advance!

Hi All It took a bit but it's working the way I wanted. All hidden inside the case. I wanted to be able to retain the Original controller or plug in a wireless adapter for the Xbox360 wirless controller. Using Ryzee119's adapter and some switching and making use of the light gun wire I got it working. At this stage it is just the 1st port with the other ports untouched. The only small issue is the 5 second delay before the 360 controller will work after that the there doesn't appear to be any lag between the 2. I dismantled and washed an xbox and cleaned the motherboard with alcohol tips - the problem is that the motherboard - controller ports - inner plastic parts of dvd drive and hard drive still stink - it’s like a stale cigarette smell any suggestions? Thanks
