One of my complete in box consoles has polystyrene which has snapped at the weakest point of the X. Reproduction polys do not seem to be available. There is an Etsy seller, but he is not responsive. Has anyone had any luck using glue? I had thought that a glue that wouldn’t melt the polystyrene might be worth a shot, like a PVA wood glue. Or if there are other methods that may have been successful?

Hi Guys. Stumbled across this beauty last week and i forgot i owned this. Shall i... Or shall i not.. still works perfectly however concerned about the clock cap itself. Is this a gem i should not tamper with or should i rip its guts out and get modding. I am torn here...!!!

Thanks for your time and any help you fine folks can provide. Here's what I got, and here's some symptoms and our current situation. 2020 bought TSOP'd V1.1 from a nice gent on ebay. It worked fine for the past two years, then recently encountered problems. IND bios, UnleashX Ver:0.39.0.222A Build 572, Kernel 1.0.5003.67, MS dash Kernel: 1.00.5003.67 D:1.00.5659.03, Upgraded HDD to Seagate Barracuda 750gb upon purchase, reapplied thermal paste to heatsinks/chips, clock cap was removed by seller. This xbox is my brothers, so the symptoms aren't first hand, but described as best as he could to me. I have the original HDD around still. Last 2 months, symptoms: Occasional freezing while watching videos on XBMC. Reboot would seem to allow playback. Error message about the skin not functioning properly, so he changed to another skin and seemed to solve that issue. Occasional freezing during game play with Halo (1 or 2, can't remember), the last freeze had a few purple bars in the video output (someone suggested that the lines/bars reminded them of GPU issues they experienced with older computer repairs they did in the past) No boot, current situation: IND Bios logo shows up but nothing more. It stays on the IND screen indefinitely while both of the heat sinks get very hot. (Aside from the heat, it reminds me of bad memory issues with computers not booting. I've never got any screen activity with bad RAM though, so when the IND screen shows, it makes me think that RAM may not be the issue.) Actions taken: Opened xbox and removed HDD and CD drive, attempted startup but no change in results. Found three caps in front of large heat sink bulging. Replaced with same value caps from a parts xbox, no change in results. Redid thermal paste on heatsinks, no change in results. Disconnected front USB cables(wire connectors to controller ports). So just the PSU, fan, and power/eject connectors still attached but no change in results. FTP timed-out, no change in results. No other obvious defects, but my eyes may be getting aged and I could be missing something. But generally, I dont see anything burnt, no other visually bad caps, PSU seems to be working regularly. I'm not familiar with the TSOP process, just the plain jane softmod. Is it possible to redo the TSOP, or is this sounding like a hardware issue to you folks? My brothers and cousins love coming over to get system link going, so being down a box is a bit annoying and we may be losing some saves and profiles that I'm not able to FTP off. Any help or pointers is greatly appreciated.

So I got Slayer 2.7 properly running on a DVD-R, but I don't know where to start from . I know some options can ruin the HDD or the XBox so I would need to know what is the correct installation procedure. I have a 120Gb HDD (a compatible Maxtor, according to this list Xbox Hard Drive Compatibility Chart ) that is connected instead of the previous one (that works fine with Evox already running), but I literally don't know what to do once the functions list of the installer appears on screen. For example, I don't know about Kernel compatibility, if the HDD is to be considered as RETAIL or UPGRADE/BIG HD, etc. I'm not completely sure, but I think my consolle is Hard Modded, because I've read somewhere that if the seals have holes around the screws or if the screen flickers a bit then it means it's a hard mode, but again I'm not sure. I don't really want to touch the internal part of the console more than the necessary to check it out (I've been told the modchip is visible somewhere), honestly. Any suggestion from somebody who already installed it?

Hey everyone. I've been using a 500GB SATA laptop drive as my main hard drive for a few years now but it seems to be dying. I'd really like to hear your suggestions on what you find is the best quality or most cost effective drive you recommend. Do you use a 2.5 or 3.5 inch drive? Do you like standard, hybrid, or solid state drives? I was probably going to get one of these but if you know of something better, let me know. I like Seagate drives but am open to other brands you may find reliable. I have 500GB added to my Xbox and looking for the best version of Coin ops with out draining out all the space for Xbox games as well theres just so many versions any advice and does it have to auto launch

I looking to upgrade my HDD to a 2tb. Any brand suggestions. I am currently looking at WD black. Thanks
