About Me

  1. Hello everyone and thanks in advance for your help. As you can see from the pic here: https://imgur.com/a/Vvnf6uX I removed today the clock cap and I found some corrosion. I cleaned very carefully (probably more clean will need) with a soft brush and isopropil alcool. I have noticed that corrosion affect some SMD component that now are gone, so I navigate the web looking for pictures to find the missing component so I can but and resolder them. Please help me with the values of the following components from bottom to top: R7G2 = 3K ohm R7G1 = 1.1 K ohm Q7G2= 1AM R7G3 = 285 Ohm CR7G1= A11 R7F9 = 2K ohm R7F8 = 256 Ohm R6F7 = can't find any value on the net Can you help me with those values? Also, any tip to double check? thanks
  2. My 1.6 Halo edition that I put my Aladdin in is stable at 827MHZ. And shows it in XBMC and wherever else. My X3 console will work too, and I believe it's a 1.4. All my other consoles will not ackknowledge the overclock. They just ignore it and stay at 733. This is extremely annoying. I would like to overclock any console I want, but it's not behaving consistently, which is a problem I have not heard of. Does anybody know why XBOverclock would work for some consoles and not others? Edit: Let me be ridiculously specific since, again, it seems some people have a hard time understanding my English: Does anybody know why some consoles would continue to operate at stock speeds and ignore the overclock and why some will accept it and the overclock will actually take?
  3. I bought this modded big boi in 2005,here is the problem,in original Fable The Lost Chapter if i try to load save state my game will just freeze which will force me to restart xbox, game runs fine without loading save states, saving is also okay. Same problem occured in Call of Duty:Finest Hour, loading next map will almost always led to freeze, after restarting xbox map loads fine. Worst problem was in Kotor 1,xbox would just refuse to continue gaming after cutscene in the the Star Forge. I have EvoX if that matters.
  4. Okay, I wanted to use SweetDarkDestiny's TSOP flash kit for all of my consoles that I am trying to flip and sell. I'll save money on modchips , and I want to be able to manage my TSOP AND flash it if that's possible, with an Xblast Lite. The xblast lite can do this, correct? With 1.0 and 1.1 consoles of course (1 meg flash). I do want to know if the xblast menu for the Lite will let me flash the TSOP? I mean, since it can manage it, whatever that means ,I'm sure it can flash it, correct?
  5. Hello, sorry for nagging you, but I am really don't know much about the og xbox modding stuff... My problem is, I have 3 og xbox, two of them working great, and 1 can't play two important games, everything else working great. Forza motorsport, and Counter-strike. When I launch them it gives me a black screen on my main xbox, in CS I can hear the background music as well. On my other 2 xboxes they can run these games without a problem. The only differences I can see with my newbie eyes are the "faulty" xbox has XMBC dashboard, while the others have that regular one, unleashx or evox (I can't really tell the differences), but would be the problem only this? I know the 2 working one is hardware modded, at least this is what I requested when I sent it to the service, the other, well, I don't remember seeing a chip inside, maybe tsoped, or softmodded. Oh and the xbox that doesnt run the games is a 1.0 xbox I guess, I mean it has a fan on the gpu, only the 1.0 had it, right? And among the working ones one is 1.6, the other I dont know. So that is all the hints I can give to you, but I am all ears what should I look for to post here, to be able to solve the mysteri. Oh, and I would like to mention a couple things I read about this black screen, one is a problem solve for others, but not for me: "Load up MSdash and switch language to any other. Then switch off and on again and go back to ms dash and select original language. Then restart with Forza. Worked for me first time with HDD and DVD backups" --> I could not step into the original MSdash, tried it switching inside XMBC, didn't work. An other post that I can't find now was about EEPROM and that I should disable something called "xbox persistent softmod", but I can't find any option like that to set... Thanks!
  6. Hi Guys I am new here and have soft modded my og xbox and installed XBMC4Gamers dash, however some games are just not being recognized by the dash. I have tried so many different solutions, such as copying from different flash drives, hdd.....etc, nothing helped. When ripping the games from a disc, they work fine, and most work ok after copy, but some just show these weird names as you can see in the screenshot. Xbox is running a 1TB hdd, for those games that wont work, artwork installer just marks them as being corrupt. Has anyone else had this issue, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
  7. Hello everyone, Sorry if this is in the wrong place but as the title says, I'm relatively new to the OG Xbox, it's an awesome console but seems to be pretty complex as well. I have a softmodded 1.6 Xbox. The first issue/question I have is when I turn the console on, it boots in 4:3 and SD even though it's connected with a Chimeric HDMI adapter, also in some guys like 007 Nightfire, it's pretty blurry almost like it's running in SD, is this an issue with 1.6 Xboxes? If that is an issue with 1.6 consoles, whether it's because of the Xcaliber encoder or whatever, what is the best revision to use on HDTV's with HDMI adapters like the Chimeric one or the Xedusa? Thanks to anyone who can help!
  8. Usually they have a blank icon and the name looks like e.g. PGR2 [!] (i.e Project Gotham Racing 2) and when I go to the install folder and launch the .xbe manually it launches correctly, the issue also extends to identifying the artwork, as the games with this problem all have .xbns etc and seemingly the correct artwork. If I try to launch these 'blank' games from the Games menu the screen just goes blank for a minute and loads back into Xbmc. Any idea what's causing this? Thought I had a number of bad rips but turns out the shortcuts just aren't working for some reason
  9. whiel i stated in my introduction post i had a Modded OG from the late 2000's to just about 2 years ago, i kinda kept to a handful of emulators (didnt wind up updating much)and played a few HDD Ready games. used it up till i got a RaspberryPi 3 for a Media Center. I Just recently snagged another OGXbox and upgraded it's HDD, i'm blind pretty much to what's changed in the intervening years. whats the best way to approach Emulation now? has there been any decent Homebrew games? outside Youtube, has any other Media service been restored? (Netflix/Plex) (i've got a nice Huge CRT TV to set this Xbox up with..)
  10. I started working on an alternative to the HD AV pack but with added SPDIF RCA, as well as an internally mountable version with a 3d printed panel to snap or screw into the outer case if anyone would be interested in that. I liked the XOSVP's use of a VGA connector so I've included that and I see most designs with YPbPr output using 75ohm resistors, but are these actually necessary if my traces are wide enough to have an impedance of 75 ohms and will they make a difference on the L/R analog audio connections? I've only started learning this stuff recently so I'd like to know if anything about the schematic is no good. I'll post the design and editable PCB once I have it finalized. Integrally mounted version with DPDT switch to enable av mode 2+3: based on this diagram:
  11. Hello together! (Sorry for my bad englisch i‘m from austria) A bit of a forword: My name is Markus and i'm from vienna in austria. I'm 23 years old. I grew up with late PS1, PS3, Xbox One/X and Series X. As an hobby i collected video game consoles (MS, Sony, Nintendo, Sega), as well as clean/service them. I realized that i didnt have the time to play them all, so i reduced the collection a bit. I have a special place in my heart for the OG Xbox, because i was always fascinated how the modding scene is still active and cares for the console. So i had the idea to „rebuild“ or „build“ my first console…..and i wanted to be an OG Xbox. My contact with that console, is restricted to having a stock 1.6 and later a softmodded (Splintercell-Softmod) one. But i sold them long ago. But after the last years 20th anniversary of the OG Xbox i saw that as a good time to make „the wish come true“. So here is how it goes: First i had to upgrade my tools, so i bought some tools to do the work properly. I solder/work on other things for a long time now, but for the future (to work on console/motherboards etc.) i bought a desoldering station, a smd hot-air soldering station and a new soldering iron. (A better soldering station is on the way.) I bought some tools like new iFixit kits, painter knifes, tweezer sets and much more: The case/the outer shell comes from a near mint/barley used Crystal Edition 1.6. (I killed the motherboard because of working with inproper tools ) The technical Basis is from a old 2004 1.4 Xbox. I bought it with a defect drive, just for the old motherboard revision. (I want to go for the older revision because its easier to mod, better mod support and for further upgrades not possible with the 1.6) As you see, on this board a few caps are balged and defect. (The badest ones are those around the CPU and the silver 1500uf ones.) I bought a 1.6 recap kit a long time ago and i realized around 80-90% of the caps are usable for the 1.4 aswell. So i recaped the motherboard. In the same time i installed, the pinheader for the LPC port and grounded D0. I also resoldered everything because i dont were satisified with the solder joints. I repasted the GPU/CPU with Arctic MX-4 and installed the headspreader and the brackets for it. The next step was to install the new Noctua 60mm Fan with the help of a 3D printed mounting bracket. Aswell as install the motherboard, psu etc. for a test. I serviced/cleaned the drive of the mint/ barley used 1.6 and installed a new belt. I installed the original HDD for the first test/bootup. I tested it and it boots right up (I was really relieved that it did )! Here are the next steps i will/want to do: Install a WD 500GB with 80 wire IDE cable and IDE/Sata Adapter. Install the custom dashboard/software etc. Install a custom made 20th anniversary edition Jewel on the Xbox and the controllers. (Will take some time until they arrive) Install 128MB of Ram (i dont really use it, but i want to do the installation out of interest. But this will also take some delivery time) "Install/Use" of Bitfunx Xbox2HDMI adapter Paint the button board (the one in the front) black/matte black Work to the metal shield? (Questions following) So up to my question....its about the metal shielding. I know its for signal noise reduction....but i saw a few clear case mods on that forum where they removed the complete shield. Is it possible without troubles/problems? If not, i thought about the idea to only remove the top shield and paint the lower one inside and out in black/matte black. (With sanding the paint of the grounding points.) Whats the better option? Or is it better to just paint the complete top/lower shield on the outside and leavet it that way....(with the complete shield in the console) Also what is your opinion of my first console motherboard work/ first console modding?
  12. I have a wierd issue with one of my Xbox consoles. It's a 1.6 softmod, I purchased it pre-modded and it came with 'Slayer's custom' softmod installed. Recently I've been having an issue with a couple of PAL games running too fast in NTSC mode, Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex and Timesplitters 2. I've never has this problem with these games before, so I tried changing the video from NTSC 480p to PAL 480i but the console seems to be stuck in 480p mode, even though in video settings it's unticked. If I plug in an RGB SCART cable this does force the console to output at 480i and the games no longer run fast, but when I plug my component cable back in the console remains stuck in 480p. Does anyone know what might be causing this? I'm wondering if I should reinstall the soft mod, I have Rocky5 softmod disc burned but i'm not sure if this would mess things up as a different softmod is already installed?
  13. Hello, I'am using Artwork Installer 1.9.4 and when i use it in "Auto" mode, i have some artwork missing. If i use it, in "Manual" mode, it"s ok, i can find the artwork. But in manual mode, it's long... Do you have a explanation or a solution ?
  14. Hello everyone, I want to store my game collection in the most authentic way possible (matching Redump) but that takes a lot of storage. So, I did a little bit of research and now I have few questions (and few requests) that I hope someone could help me with. It seems to me that there are three main formats for storing a retail OG Xbox disc: (1) Redump ISO (2) XISO (3) Extracted files/Game Folder I did some testing with: Halo - Combat Evolved (USA) (Rev 2) {crc="013986d0"} JSRF - Jet Set Radio Future (USA) {crc="b2a882df"} Mortal Kombat - Deception (USA) {crc="007bcbcc"} A ----------------- In the Xemu documentation it is mentioned that you can create an emulator-compatible .iso file by using either of the commands: -with dd: dd.exe if={redump_game_name}.iso of={output_game_name}.iso skip=387 bs=1M -with extract-xiso: extract-xiso.exe -r {redump_game_name}.iso But these two methods produce different .iso files. The one created with dd.exe is much bigger. A1- Are these two different forms of XISO or is the .iso file created with dd.exe just a trimming hack and not a proper XISO? A2- Is what is trimmed with dd.exe the same for every retail disc (meaning we can just keep one copy to rebuild every disc with it)? A3- What is the effect of using the two commands together? A4- In this post JayFoxRox says that we can separate the video and game partitions and recombine them later. Also he says that the video partition is the same for most retail games. Is that true? What games have special video partition? How to separate the two partitions and recombine them to give the original Redump CRC? If the video partition is the same for all/most games, that would mean that we can keep one copy of that partition to recreate the Redump ISO from any XISO file (saving a lot of space). The exception being the random padding that we need to find a way to recreate. B ----------------- Extracting the files from a Redump ISO with with extract-xiso extract-xiso.exe -x {redump_game_name}.iso then generating a .iso with them extract-xiso.exe -c {Folder_with_all_the_files} gives a .iso file with a different CRC32 to the .iso file that is created from extract-xiso.exe -r {redump_game_name}.iso I tried to use IsoBuster 4.8 (free) on a Redump ISO. It worked for listing the LBA for the files and for extracting the game files. IsoBuster always showed 4 partitions for the Redump ISOs: SEP13011042 SEP13011042072 VIDEO XBOX and two partitions for the XISO created with extract-xiso: - {it's just a dash} XBOX The files didn't change (I extracted again and compared) but I noticed that the some LBA for the files is different. Maybe there is something else that is different as well? B1- Is there a program that can create/edit ISO files based on LBA information (maybe like PS3 ISO Rebuilder with IRD files)? B2- Does this mean that we need to create files like IRD files for the PS3 (Layout files?) to be able to recreate an XISO file from extracted files? B3- Anyone knows a program that can do that for XISO files? For Redump ISO files? (similar to Redump2IRD) Note: I tried IsoBuster 4.7 and didn't work for me. In their release notes for 4.8 they mention {better XISO support}. General Questions: 1- Do you think we should start a database for the random blocks seeds using the tools in HERE? (even though we can't do it for all discs right now) 2- Can anyone provide the attachments from this thread? 3- Can anyone provide a compiled version of this program?
  15. So, I'm an old man and I can't remember how I flashed this XBox years ago. I have an Aladdin XT Plus2 with Evox +3935 and M8plus_16 fan 40.06 (not sure what size bios that is). I wrote a 2TB image to a drive and get an error telling me to upgrade to LBA48 ver 2. Can someone point me in the right direction. I do have FTP access to the box.
  16. Hello all, I am new to xbox modding. I am just trying to learn more about the software side of modding this console. I have experience modding just about every other console and am now getting into the original xbox. I've installed an openxenium mod chip, and have ordered a 2TB hdd, ide to sata converter, and 80 wire ribbon cable. I'm just trying to get a feel for what the current methods people are using as a lot of information is outdated. Thanks for reading this.
  17. Hi modding noob and first time poster here..just need some help with the IGR function on this xbox 1.6 I bought used. Everytime I try to use the button combination for IGR the console goes back to the logo then the screen blanks out. I would then need to do a hardboot to get back to the dash. Another thing I noticed is I need to hold the power button for at least 2 seconds to get the chip to load the custom bios or else it would just give out an error code. Plus for some strange reason the chip isn't flashable according to evox, though I know these aladdin chips should be flashable? I'm pretty sure this has something to do with the modchip probably not wired correctly, so if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated. 136470232_800537637170333_6562823261258646262_n.mp4
  18. Hey guys, Wyverino here I am fairly new to the xbox modding scene. My gf just gifted me an old premodded 1.1 for christmas and I love it so far. I just want to tweak it a little more to make it my hopefully favorite console! Wish all of you guys a happy new year!
  19. everything's been solid for some time now save for a couple of games that simply refuse to work and im ignoring them....., so my wife created a new profile to use instead of using mine so she could set faves and such...seemed like a good idea....but now, no profile works...so im stumped "script error"script failed xbmc4gamers" then it pops up a message on the bottom left of the screen "error script is missing or taking to long to finish, please send me a copy of your xbmc.log file " i assume the log file thats needed is the /E/xbmc/system..if so..its attached. xbmc.log
  20. Hi all got several Sega games that I just can't get to load from my HDD. most notably Jest Set Radio Future, Panzer Dragoon Orta and Gunvalkyrie. I know they all have an issues with the v.1.6 but I`m using a tsop V.1.4 with an up to date UnleashX as main dashboard. for each game I have tried different sources of ISO's and Redumps but all versions act the same way. the game Freezes on Sega logo (Jest Set) or when loading first level (Gunvalkyrie, Panzer) tried to load them trough different dashboards (XBMC4GAMERS, emustation etc) to no avail. been reading all relevant discussions and couldn't find another example of this problem, nor a solution, so it must be something with my console's configuration. any ideas? some pics of my board and settings https://photos.app.goo.gl/iEzaFfu6n2dcFvgp8 any help will be appreciated, been struggling with this for quite some time now. Tnx!
  21. hello all, im playing some Forza Motorsport the NTCS version and the collection of trainers i have only has a couple PAL versions for this game and they don't work with my version of Forza, so im trying to figure out how to make my own, i have setup an old laptop with windows xp and found a version of the XDK and installed it, can anyone help me out with this? should i try to make a evox trainer or some other format that is compatible with xbmc4gamers ? thanks in advance

  24. Hello everybody, I have XVGM installed on my 750gb hard drive Xbox. Some videos previews show and others do not. I checked that I have the game and a video preview for it, but it does not show. What could it be?
