can anybody help its a original xbox version 1.6a

hello im a newbe im trying to softmod my original xbox without a game or usb adapter i get as far as opening xplorer 360 and it doesnt detects the partions the drive is hotswaped into my pc and the computer management detects the drive but the xplorer360 doesnt please help its a 1.6 a version xbox

I have a Halo Edition 1.4 softmodded XBox that I'm trying to upgrade with a SATA drive. I bought a couple of the Kingwin adapters and I've tried about 6 different SATA drives with no luck. I've tried using both Hexen 2017 and Slayer to no avail. I've tried different 40 pin and 80 pi cables, pretty much changed out everything. Of the six drives I tested, I got one to format all the way through using Hexen but it will not boot the Xbox, just gives the standard error. I did lock the drive and backup the eeprom. I worked all day on this Sunday and frankly I'm about to throw in the towel. It's so painful trying to get new tech to work with old tech. I'm just looking for a little guidance, perhaps something simple I missed. Also, is the a tut for removing the battery / clock capacitor? BTW, as a last resort I do have a Startech adapter on order.

I have softmodded a v1.1 XBOX with a Sharp TSOP using Softmod Deluxe v5.11 and have experienced a few issues: When sending files to the XBOX via Filezilla, the system frequently freezes and sometimes restarts. This happes especially with large files. The lights around the eject button behave differently than stock. When I make changes in settings they don't seem to work. For instance, even when I set it to do so, the light around the eject button will not flash when the drive is busy. Also, even when I set the light to be green, it is green when I first turn the system on, then changes to orange while the softmod is booting then turns back to green again. When I make changes to settings in the settings menu of the UnleashX dash, they don't carry over to the settings menu in the softmod menu. I find I have to make setting changes in two places. Have you guys experienced this? Is this normal for this softmod? Which softmod do you guys prefer between NDURE and Softmod Deluxe? If I want to switch to NDURE, do I select the remove softmod option in Softmod Deluxe, then install NDURE? Or can I install NDURE over Softmod Deluxe without removing it first. (I've decided to just leave this XBOX softmodded since it has the Sharp TSOP chip which is more involved in TSOPing than the others.) Thank you very much for all of your help and advice.

UPDATING FILES FOR DOWNLOAD!! also additionally here are some essential xbox tools for modding/softmodding that are extremely hard to find these days due to most xbox scene sites and forums being dead. I have had them for over 12 years on a unused backup drive. UPDATING FILES FOR DOWNLOAD!! As always all files have been scanned for security threats by VirusTotal.com to rule out any contamination, with the exception of one false-positive in "Xplorer360 v0.9 Beta 6.zip". ** Keep in mind that these tools were made on and for xp/7 32bit windows, they may or may not work or work properly on 32 or 64 bit win 7/8/10, I recommend win xp/7 32bit virtual installation via VMware or virtualbox. so i gave my brother a v1.6 softmod so he could toy with it and play some games. had it set up nice with xbmc4gamers started to show him what goes on with that skin and then it just black screened and reset... now error code 6!!! over and over. then all of a sudden it boot again. weird? now. back to error code 6. never booting again. race home and install stock drive and error code 9!!!! omg wtf!!!!!!! i have a mod chip here. could be an easy fix... but... i have tried the ide cable and the adapter, not the problem. one insight. i had the jumper set to slave when it was first booting, its strange because i had set-up the entire XVGM on this console and then xbmc4gamers because i didnt like xvgm for this one. it just wasnt as stable. dont know. bad hdd? how do you explain the stock drive giving an error? strange.

Hi Guys. I'm new to modding the XBOX. Just soft modded a V1.1 XBOX and using Softmod Installer Deluxe v5.11. Everything seems to have gone fine but now the light around the eject button is solid orange and the eject button doesn't blink when the dvd drive is reading a disk. From what I have read, this seems to be normal after modding and I have also read about where to go into settings to adjust the lights. But what I have not been able to do is figure out how to get it back to looking stock. In other words, I just want the light to be solid green when booting up and while running, and have it flash green when the system is busy. I have tried setting it this way in settings but it doesn't seem to work. I'm not sure what I'm missing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

OK Here is the situation. Just had a 1.6 PSU open up. I've got a 1.6 board from my first ever softmod. it has been rendered useless after i ended up unlocking the drive... not knowing what was going on. So its sitting there. i have an aladdin xt2 chip. if i install that chip on this board will it just boot? curious on this procedure because anytime you hear about this type of situation (no eeprom) the answer always seems to be "need a mod chip or a tsop) just curious of some thoughts on this. and how it might work.

hello, im new to modding xbox, few weeks ago i bought myself a new xbox, I cleaned it up, aplied new thermal paste etc etc but mainly i wanna try out modding i got myself a copy of the first version of the splinter cell game, and i ordered a female usb to xbox cable, i got an hynix bios chip, so im also planning to TSOP my console. The model is from 2003-06-04. so im guessing its an version 1,3 mobo and does upgrading to 80mm fan improve performance? do u guys have any tips for me or any recommendations on what and what not do to?

I TSOP'd one of my Xbox's (it also has a new 250 GB disk I installed) and I was "playing" with HeXEn and can't boot to a dashboard any more. My question is given good hardware and a bootable HeXEn disk, how can I do a full reset of the hard drive with a fresh install? I am new to this and would like to get to the level that what an "Out of Box" Xbox that is TSOP'd would boot up to that is comparable to a fresh install of Windows on a PC. Thanks!
